Welcome to The Outrigger!! You will love our 3BR 2Bathroom Home super central located in Downtown Hilo. Our home is well equipped and ready to be discovered by you your family and friends! We have ceiling fans in every room and AC's in each Bedroom. Total of two Bathrooms. You have your own Washer/Dryer and access to our very well equipped kitchen. Come stay with us and Paddle into your next Adventure! Quiet and Close to Town!

This is an urban gem - right in downtown but still quiet and away from the main strip of the town. You can walk to restaurants, grocery store bars or the Farmers Market and get fresh Fruits and Vegetables.

Loved our 3 bedroom cottage in downtown Hilo. Super convenient location and walkable to downtown Hilo and the water. The cottage was very spacious and comfortable. Would stay again!!

Short but lovely visit

We had booked only one night here on the Hilo side of the island, but had such a great experience that I’d easily stay longer in the future. The house was lovely, great interior decor, everything we could need, lots of little touches that just made it feel like home. Getting in and communicating was super easy and we had a wonderful time. Thanks so much for sharing your home!

Great place to visit and stay

The Outrigger house was exactly as described. Checkin and checkout process was easy. House is in a great location from grocery store, restaurants, and shops. House was well equipped, clean, and in a quiet location (except for the frogs at night but it was like white noise after a while). Plenty of things to do in Hilo, we wish we would have stayed a few more days.

Beautiful Property

Loved staying at this property!. It is beautifully decorated and very welcoming with set table and treats! The property exceeded our expectaions. It was perfectly located, very comfortable. Recommend staying here 100%.

Great Stay in Hilo

The house was perfect for our needs. VERY clean and well equipped..... we loved the availability of of having nice beach chairs and a beach umbrella. We will definitely be looking at staying again when we return to Hilo in the future.

Great property!

This house was spacious and nicely decorated plus there were yummy treats and coffee left for us! Beds were comfortable and we all slept well. AC units in rooms were perfect and the weather was mild enough to just use the ceiling fans in the living room. We picked up some hot sauce and spice mixes at the farmers market and local shops for cooking and the basics (salt, pepper, olive oil, and soy sauce were provided). All in all, we really enjoyed our stay!

Impressive accommodations

This VRBO was gorgeous, clean and well appointed. Everything we needed was there including a full size laundry. Owners welcomed us with a yummy basket of local goodies. Very comfortable stay! Thank you!

Great landing spot in Hilo

We really enjoyed this house for our stay in Hilo. Clean, comfortable, and well appointed. Downtown Hilo is a little gritty, and it extends a bit to this neighborhood, but we never felt unsafe and appreciated the ability to take a break from the car and walk to restaurants and the farmers market. Recommend Ola Brew and Richardson Beach Park highly for those coming to the area. The hosts were responsive, accommodated our requests, and had the house very nicely set up for our stay. The kitchen is well stocked, allowing us to make many breakfasts, lunches, and a big family dinner while we were there. Highly recommend if you want to be walkable to restaurants and shopping in Hilo.

Home away from Home

We are two couples who spent 3 nights at The Outrigger and it was everything as listed and shown in the pictures. It had all the comforts of home, and a great place to relax after long days of touring around. It's in a safe location and within walking distance to downtown. Simon was so easy to deal with, gave great restaurant suggestions and responded right away to our questions. We definitely recommend it and would stay there again.

Downtown Hilo

We traveled with another couple who had never been to The Big Island. We hadn't been back to Hilo since our daughter graduated from the university 9 years ago. We decided to stay downtown and the house fit the bill perfectly. I think we were a little taken aback from the neighborhood, including the big fence that shields the front door from the street. The inside of the home was perfect for our needs - nicely decorated and all the appliances/items that we needed. There was plenty of space for two couples. It was a very short walk to the grocery store, coffee/chocolate shops and the farmers market. When we get a chance to come back to Hilo, we will hope to stay here again.

Hidden gem in a central location

When you first pull up, the neighborhood does not instill confidence. But entering the space, it was clean and mostly modern. Good first impression. It was a bit hot in the main area since all the A/C were in the bedrooms. Kitchen was well stocked, and the space very comfortable. Biggest gripe was that the individual A/C didn't have thermostats on them. So they basically were on or off. You couldn't say, try to keep the room at X temperature. So basically, you'd turn them on low at night and then wake up freezing. And then turn them to fan....and wake up muggy and warm.

What a view!

The view from this amazing cottage is amazing. You can't walk to the water (it's miles away), but it is close to spots to visit, hike, etc. It's secluded and really an amazing place with plants to walk around and see. We stopped the Garden of Eden before we stopped for the night here and it was amazing. But, this place has some wonderful plants as well. The owners live on site and you just honk and they come out and greet you and show you around, if you want. The kitchen is stocked well. We didn't use the TV, but wifi was great. There are two cats that will sit outside your door, but they aren't obnoxious, just like to sit on the railing or flood. They collect and use rainwater, which is great! Just a lovely place. We'd stay again in a heartbeat!

Very welcoming!

This was a very last minute stay and the host took care of our reservation right away. Hilo can be a bit rough around the edges but the home was very secure and private and safe. When we walked in, the house could not have been cuter and there was even a welcome gift! It was so spacious with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Plenty of fans, and nice AC in each bedroom. We stayed as home base for touring the volcano eruption and the location was perfect. If we need to come to that side of the island again I will stay in this home in a heartbeat!

Home Away From Home

We had such a great stay! We came to Hilo from Oahu for high school graduation and stayed for a long weekend. It was exactly like the photos! Each bedroom came with AC and the living area was spacious and comfy! Everything was wonderful and we hope to visit again on our next trip to Hilo.

Clean and Comfortable

Our family enjoyed our stay here, the home is thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed. Easy walk to the market, & local galleries or shops. We’d stay here again.
