Welcome! With a spectacular view of the world's second largest Barrier Reef. Las Amapolas is tucked among coconut palm trees and a white sandy beach. Las Amapolas is in a secluded beach which was once an old coconut grove (El Cocal) about 4.5 miles north of San Pedro Town, on the Mata Grande Area of Ambergris Caye. It is a 30 minute ride on golf cart to San Pedro Town. The road can be bumpy sometimes due to pot holes. Las Amapolas (386 sq. ft.), features a private balcony, a king size bed, with beach-chic furnishing. It's a fusion of simplicity, nature and comfort - BAREFOOT LUXURY and Naturally Beautiful.

You may find seaweed/sargassum on the beach shoreline from seasonal shifting of currents and weather patterns in the region.
Other things to note:
San Pedro Town has a Caribbean/Mexican lifestyle and is bustling in activities during the day. Visitors can enjoy and experience the island cuisine at one of the many restaurants, cafes and bars in town. Or just simply enjoy watching the locals going about their daily chores.
Power outages are not uncommon on Ambergris Caye. We at Las Amapolas do our best to ensure that whenever this happens you are still comfortable. Please note that whenever the power goes out water is still available in your ‘room. We also provide you with an emergency light for your use if the power goes out at night. The service is usually restored within a couple of hours . The power outages are out of our control. The Belize Electricity Limited the provider of electricity here in Belize should have this problem solve soon.

I like to do community work and for twenty five years I was the Chairman if the International Costa Maya Festival, Belize's biggest festival. I have served as Chairman of the Belize Tourism Board and have also been involved in different organizations promoting tourism.
Due to my job my first cousin Nellie of Nellie"s Property Management is in charge of Las Amapolas. She is also a native of the island.

The land has been in the family for a very long time. In 2015 my father passed away and we his children (seven men and three women) inherited the land. One of my brothers and I decided to build a casita to spend our free time and share it with tourists that are looking for a quiet little piece of paradise.

Upon arrival at property, our guests' will witness our disinfecting stations, signage awareness to practice social distancing, washing/sanitizing hands, wearing a mask when you step out of the unit.
In addition, our enhanced housekeeping protocols steered us to thoroughly clean both hard & soft high-touched .We will be removing extra linens, bedding, towels, guest books/magazines etc. to reduce the spread of cross contamination guided by the Belize Tourism Board protocols. Guests can get extra linens, bedding, towels upon request.
