This custom mining themed upscale cabin is nestled in the pine trees in the highly sought after Powder House Pass area outside of Deadwood/Lead. Being in the heart of the recreational corridor in the Northern Black Hills, you'll love the proximity to the local Mickelson Trail and snowmobile Trail #5 for your winter and summer adventures! Terry Peak is just a short 10 minute drive up the hill and you can actually catch a glimpse of the Eastern side of the mountain from the property! You can also enjoy the rim-rock canyon walls of Spearfish Canyon for a day of hiking, fly fishing and a summer cruise in as little as 5 minutes. ATV, snowmobile, hike, or bike straight from the cabin without having to worry about finding a trailhead, or stroll through the neighborhood and enjoy the old mining claims. With frequent wildlife, and incredible starry skies, the location couldn't be better. Keystone, Mount Rushmore, Hill City, and Custer State Park can all be accessed within under an hour's drive as well! Whether you're visiting the Black Hills for a relaxing getaway, a sight-seeing trip or an adventure-filled vacation, Iron Wheel Lodge is sure to make your trip delightful.

Once you've finished with your adventure filled days, coming home to your very own getaway cabin will be the icing on the cake. The design and upscale furnishings have been selected for comfort and relaxation. There's over 2100 sq. ft. of living space and 3 bedrooms complete with a king bed, queen bed, and two twin beds. The open living/kitchen area is perfect for gathering while the wood flooring and rock fireplace set the cabin mood. There's a 3 car garage for your vehicles and motorcycles, and a wrap around covered patio to enjoy the outdoors. You'll also be one of the closest cabins to the Powder House Pass clubhouse, so a short walk and you can enjoy a heated pool, gas fire-pit, pool table, shuffleboard, a gathering place and more! Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved the location and the cabin was overall very nice and comfortable! The only complaint we have is that the upper ledge needs a good cleaning as there was alot of dead flies. I know that is not an easy place to reach but needs a good cleaning.We also had two wasps and several flies daily in the house as they must be getting in from somewhere .We definitely would stay here again once these few issues are addressed..

Excellent stay

This is a return visit to the Powder House Pass area but our first time at this rental. We would definitely stay again! The property was clean and as described. It was a very quick walk to the pool and the extra towels were perfect too use. We will stay again when we are back in the area.

Family reunion

The location of this house was great, close to the clubhouse and pool, and just a short drive to the town. The house was very clean, a nice size and layout for our group. Only disappointments were that the kitchen was sparsely equipped (there were only 4 bowls, no cutting board), and the on-demand hot water heater was unable to keep up if more than one shower was running at the same time. Otherwise it was a lovely home in a nice neighborhood, a great place for family to gather.

It is very spacious and comfortable. The outdoor pictures are a little deceptive. I thought I was at the wrong house when we first arrived. I was expecting it to be out on its own. It is in a new neighborhood and the neighbors are VERY close. The hot tub has zero privacy. It is just a few miles on the outskirts of Lead and 12 miles to Deadwood. We found the location to be very easy to work with to get where we wanted to go.

Deadwood retreat

Close to all sites we wanted to visit. Casino's, Mt Rushmore, Ironhorse, great food, wine & spirits as well local shops. We were able to attend a concert, wax museum, waterfall and a spa over the course of 5 nights and 4 days.

Great location...but owner's need to listen to reviews

This home was located in great neighborhood, quiet, walkable, and easy access to activities and adventures. However, at this price point you would hope the owners would consider the reviews left by previous renters. I usually don't leave bad reviews. I haven't had to. But in all honesty, I have to say it was rather disappointing to crawl into bed after traveling for 12+ hours only to have the bottom fitted sheet not be "fitted". It was so old the elastic wasn't holding it onto the mattress. The bed in the master bedroom is EXTREMELY loud if you barely move in the bed. The bath towels felt like sandpaper. I have a hard time believing the owners would EVER treat their own guests like this. The kitchen is sparsely equipped. Some of the pots should really just be thrown out they are so scratched up. There were dead mice out by the hot tub. It is clear they are not looking for repeat renters. Just overall disappointing.

Amazing place to spend time with family

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great experience! Open floor plan with great layout for family to all be in an area to visit, play games or watch TV. Nice to have a main site on the first floor for our parents to use without having to climb stairs. Also liked having another suite upstairs. The child’s playroom upstairs also served as a private “bedroom” for 2 of our guests.

Weekend getaway!

Absolutely loved staying here… it was for all of us to have such a beautiful place to stay for a girls weekend! Not to far from deadwood which made it even better. We were able to check in an hour early which made things go much smoother. The best part was sitting in the living room, next to the fire with our coffee and the big windows watching the snow come down. Will definitely book again!
