Cazenovia Farmhouse with a Private Pool

Our newly remodeled 1840s farmhouse is 2 miles from the village of Cazenovia and its lovely lake. Nestled in the hills with magnificent views enjoy peaceful country living on one of the most beautiful country roads in Central New York.

The first floor of our light filled farmhouse is very spacious, featuring a front parlor, living room, dining room, full kitchen with all new appliances and amenities (including a microwave, coffee maker, tea, & coffee), washer & dryer, 1 bedroom with a queen bed and 2 full bathrooms. The second floor features 2 bedrooms with queen beds and a full bathroom. We provide window unit air conditioners for the 3 bedrooms.

Short drive to vineyards, breweries, orchards, fine dining, quaint shops, cross country skiing, hiking, downhill skiing, snowmobiling, fly fishing, biking, colleges and universities to name a few activities.

The private pool is for guests use. HOWEVER, there is NO LIFEGUARD ON DUTY and NO DIVING.

The comfortable accommodations and convenient location make for a perfect getaway with family and friends. Happy to provide more information if needed!

Really adorable restored farmhouse. The only thing we missed was not having a toaster for breakfast. Very clean, easy drive into town.

What a wonderful 4th of July weekend spent with family in Cazenovia! Just 5 minutes from my brother in town. This old farm house had so much charm and warmth. Thanks so much for sharing this beautiful property!

We stayed at the property which was close to the venue for my son and his now wife. The home was beautiful, and clean. It had everything we needed. My only wish was that we stayed a little longer so we could have relaxed by the pool. We are thinking of returning in the fall! We definitely recommend this home away from home!

The property was generally nice.The owner should add hand rails at the front and side entrances given the five or so steps that were present.The only television lacked access to cable or satellite television programs. Guests were expected to provide their own cables to connect to their own electronic devices. The main entrance room was like a giant foyer and wasn’t very useful — the owner should make into a true sitting room with comfortable couches.The shower head in downstairs bedroom needed to be replaced with a more user friendly one. The was either too harsh or too weak coming out.The owner needs to provide a stack wood near the fire pit

We are actively looking into adding handrails for the entrance steps, upgrading the downstairs shower head, and ensuring a better wood supply access for the fire pit. We had a very nice stay at this charming Farmhouse. Rooms and furniture and bedding were comfortable, the swimming pool was wonderful and the fire pit was great. Is close to town and some restaurants that were nice to eat at. The whole house was very clean when we arrived, which was very much appreciated.

This home was a marvelous place for our family stay, beautifully modernized while keeping the old-fashioned country house feel. The surrounding countryside is so beautiful, too! We very much enjoyed our time here.

Everything we needed for our stay was there!

Beautifully done and preserving the detail of the old farm made for a unique stay. We had some family over on our Sunday after my husband's brother's wedding and there were compliments from everyone. Cazenovia and 'the farmhouse' is just lovely!

The house was quite homey and very comfortable. The host left additional amenities which made us feel very welcomed. We would definitely stay again when in the area.

Perfect for families!

Clean, organized and spacious accommodations. The AC and pool were so appreciated during this hot spell. Location worked very well for going to Cazenovia or to Dewitt. Would highly recommend!

Host was awesome and responsive! We were out visiting our daughter at Colgate so the 25 min drive worked great. Will plan to stay again when back out.

Farmhouse Friendly for All

Bottom line: The place is great. AC in the bedrooms for sleeping soundly, ping pong and other games in the barn for fun, and a well-pointed space for hosting a gathering.

50th Reunion

The 1830’s farm house was a wonderful experience. The owners did an outstanding job with the remodel and furnishings. The house (3bdrm/3bath) has plenty of space and the outdoor barns and pool put it over the top. I would highly recommend this property.

The house was very clean and spacious for our family. We were appreciative of all the linens provided and the additional items (ziploc bags, spices, s’mores ingredients) provided but unfortunately there are a few things to note: - Although the listing mentions a heated pool beware that the owners only turn the pool on during the month of May. We were there after a few days of rain and the pool was ice cold for my two young children. When asked if we could turn on the heater the owner replied that it is only turned on in the month of May. -The listing mentions a “game room with life size games and a ping pong table.” When we went inside this game room there were animal droppings all over the ping pong table and right in the middle of the room. It was absolutely disgusting and when it was mentioned to the owner that their cleaning crew should look into this, her response was that there’s nothing they could do about critters because of the outdated barn that it is housed in. I agree that the barn is outdated but it was obvious that the barn hadn’t been cleaned in quite some time with the amount of droppings in there.

This is the response sent to the guest immediately after receiving the message during their stay mid August with temperatures in the mid to high 80s. The carriage house is blown out prior to every guest visit. In our 9 years of hosting and 3 season with the pool have never received either of these complaints. “Hi Kaitlin, we typically do not heat the pool other than the month of May. As the summer gets warmer guests have requested a cooler water temperature. As for the carriage house, it’s not a space advertised on the listing. I understand the droppings with young children can be unsettling.The farm dates back to the 1830s. We have always gone to extreme measures to keep the interior extremely clean but unfortunately can’t control the critters outside in the rural setting”

Colgate graduation weekend

This property was elegant, comfortable, luxurious and cozy! The beds were comfortable and sheets were so soft. I actually checked the sheet tags and ordered them online for our home. My only regret is that we did not find this house during my daughter’s freshman year. My daughter will definitely keep this house in mind for her future travels to Colgate. Thank you for hosting us!

Beautiful property!!!

Our family visited Cazenovia for the first time for a celebration of life. Our family history is dairy farming so we especially loved the charm of this beautiful farmhouse and the entire property. The pics do not do it justice! The remodel should be in a magazine! Everything is done so perfectly without feeling stuffy. It’s truly lovely! With big comfortable bedrooms and baths and lots of room to spread out. It was too cold for the pool but it looked so pretty and the game barn and fire pit were terrific fun. We loved it all!!
