A beautiful home with an incredible location right on the water. Private but not hard to get to restaurants, activities, etc. Loved listening to the waves from the living room and outdoor areas with great flora and fauna all around. Very Hawaii!

A beautiful, large, and well kept house in an absolutely stunning location! It had everything we needed. We rent homes a few times a year and this was definitely one of the best experiences from the host communication to the quality of the property.

Just a magnificent well appointed home right on the lava cap with an unobstructed view of the coast and the horizon. Easy walk to a beautiful beach to snorkel. My grown children and I were extremely comfortable and felt right at home from the second we got there. The location, right on the water and next to a nice quiet beach for snorkeling couldn't have been any better. The linens on the beds were nice and the kitchen had everything including sharp knives. My grown children and I couldn't have been any happier. The local hosts were also very accessible and helpful.We hope to be back soon.

We have stayed on the Big Island over 20 times, but this was our first stay in Puako. We were captivated by the view and by the scent of plumeria wafting through the home from the 3 large plumeria trees out front. The home is very traditionally Hawaiian, with beautiful, heavy wooden sliders that open the front and the back completely to the tradewinds. The deep lanai stretches across the entire back of the home and provides plenty of comfortable seating for lounging and dining. Each bedroom has a stunning ocean view. Because the coastline behind the home is mostly lava, there were very few people who passed by and it felt extremely private. We always had those Kohala coast sunsets to ourselves. We did use the air conditioning in the bedrooms at night and it was quite comfortable. The kitchen was so well appointed that all we needed to supply was food. In fact, the entire home was thoughtfully appointed. We made good use of the watersports equipment. The snorkeling behind the house is excellent, but it can't be directly accessed from the home. It must be accessed at the beach about a 2-minute walk to the south and then involves a swim of a few hundred yards. It's worth it! We saw such beautiful coral and abundant sea life (including the Hawaiian green sea turtle). We found some sea life in the tidepools behind the house. The tidepools, lava, and ocean made a fabulous backdrop for some family photos. Communication with the host and house manager was excellent.

Our VRBO host was great, very flexible. We had a family emergency, daughter broke her wrist and needed surgery a few weeks before our trip was scheduled and our VRBO host was able to reschedule and work with us on a new date. The home is wonderful and we had a great time.

Mana Kai Villa is a wonderful house in a great location. Beautiful waterfront views and turtle spotting. We are divers and one of the best Puako put-ins is right next door. The house is very well laid out and comfortable. Loved opening all the doors and having the breeze waft through. Hosts were great to work with and Niki, the local property manager, couldn't be more helpful. We will be back!

Beautiful property in a wonderful location

My family and friends loved our stay. The house itself is lovely, spacious, comfortable, with all the amenities you could want. The setting is stunning. The hosts and house manager were very friendly, helpful, and available for all of our questions. Can't wait to go back!

Incredible setting and home

One of the most beautiful spots in Puako this oceanfront home had everything you could hope for, and a unique layout that gives everyone their own outdoor space and privacy, and a common are to come to together for meals and family time

Great house!

The home is excellent, well setup and ready for use. The hosts were very helpful and dealt with any issues that arose promptly. Will definitely stay there again. We went with four adults and four kids ages 6-11 and the house absorbed us w/o a problem.

Indoor Outdoor Living at its best!

A lovely home in a beautiful location! The property was well equipped for all our needs. The covered outdoor lanais offered a wonderful setting to enjoy the views. The owners and property manager were both responsive and very accommodating!

Hart Family Paradise 2023

Amazing property located on the best snorkeling reef- few people and many fish species. Wonderful kitchen and lanai with 4 beach facing bedrooms. Quiet neighborhood but close to other resorts and amenities. Not to mention, the most beautiful sunsets. We will be back!

Perfect spot in Puako

The house was amazing. There were 8 of us and we had plenty of room. Every day we were lucky enough to see whales right in front of the property. There is great snorkeling right next door. We loved every minute of our stay and would book again in the future. Could not have been a more perfect stay. The owners and house managers were very responsive and helpful.

A Beautiful Home in Puako.

Hale Mana Kai is a very nice, well appointed home. Great setting with the ocean as a front yard. We could not have asked for more. Puako is a quaint and beautiful spot. We spent 8 days there and truly enjoyed our stay. Debbie and Island Beach Rentals were easy to communicate with; and quick with a helpful reply to any questions.

Perfect!

We loved this place! Perfect location, beautiful and spacious house, completely well-equipped with everything you might need or want. Property manager was so kind and helpful and made check-in and check-out seamless. Our group's age range was 12-76 and everyone loved it! Thank you to the hosts for providing such a peaceful, lovely, and generous experience -- we really hope to return!

Beautiful home in a gorgeous setting

We had a wonderful stay here! The house and property are as lovely as pictured. The house has fantastic patio spaces to dine, relax, and enjoy the views. There are breathtaking sunsets every evening and we saw whales breaching more than once during our stay. The hosts were excellent communicators and made sure we were greeted by their property manager upon arrival. The house is well stocked and has most every kitchen tool and appliance you could need. There are also plenty of water toys for the beach. We loved our stay and would highly recommend this beautiful home!

Outstanding beachfront property!

We enjoyed an amazing two weeks at Mana Kai villa with adult family members. This is an outstanding beachfront property with ample amenities and fantastic ocean views. From the well stocked chef's kitchen to the abundance of watersports equipment, this house has it all. The owners were very helpful in providing information on restaurants, booking activities, etc. prior to arrival. Nikki, the local house manager, was awesome in answering questions during our stay. Mana Kai was so beautiful and relaxing, we didn't want to leave. Hope to visit again soon!

Amazing oceanfront property in Puako

Our family had a wonderful vacation staying in this incredible home! Not only is the home beautifully decorated with custom features like the one-way window in the master bath shower and custom inlaid cabinets, it is very well stocked for cooking/baking, has plenty of beach towels and snorkeling gear, an ingenious layout to keep the breeze flowing throughout the home all day and night, and has lovely landscaping. On top of that, the views of the ocean are amazing, all from the privacy of the lanais on the west side of the home, Next-door access to snorkeling and kayaking on the reef, and Hapuna Beach—white sand—is about 12 minutes away by car. Owners and property managers were easy to work with and super responsive. Can’t wait to get back!

Amazing location on the reef

Stayed with the whole family after competing in the Ironman 70.3 that was hosted at the nearby Fairmont. we had a great time. the property is in a prime location for snorkeling. in fact saw more/better sea life by the vrbo than on our expensive scuba trip. the set up was perfect for large group - 3 adult kids with spouses/sig other. able to come together when we wanted, and create space when needed. also, made good use of the snorkeling gear, paddle boards, kayaks, grill and kitchen. only negative is the road to the vrbo is in great need of resurfacing. long and bumpy ride in and out. but overall, it was a pleasant and relaxing stay in a beautiful home.

The county installed a new main waterline on Puako Beach Drive Oct 2023-May 2024 which is why all of Puako was so bumpy--sorry! Good news is we now have a new main water line and the next step is repaving the entire road which will take place in the next year. A piece of paradise

A very spacious home with a good flow inside to outside. Big comfortable outdoor space to enjoy the nightly sunsets. Well equipped kitchen for dining in. Great proximity for snorkeling just next door, and a short walk up the coast to watch the sea turtles come in to bed down at night. A short drive to a beautiful public beach, and many dining and grocery options nearby. We had the whole family there - 5 grandkids and their parents and grandparents. All were comfortable at night and entertained all through the day. This is a 5-star review, and the only negative was the sliding glass wall sections that need some maintenance for easy access between living room and lanai.

The house was just perfect! It was very clean (very important for my wife) and Niki who is the local contact was SO great to work with. She lives just down the street and was so helpful with everything. While we were there, the big Kona storm hit and she was extremely helpful with some of the issues that developed from all of the rain. One of the things I loved the most about the house was how open it was. There are a lot of sliding glass doors/walls that really bring in the ocean breezes through the home. I love to snorkel and we were finally able to enter the water on the last day. I was so impressed with the reef that is just behind the home. It was one of the best I have seen and we have snorkeled all over the world. The dive boats will anchor just off the reef which tells you something about the quality. The entry point into the ocean is just a 3-4 minute walk since the house is right next to the beach access. We also enjoyed having so many beach and watersports equipment available at the home. The little sand wagon and umbrellas came in very handy on the few days we did make it to the beach. There are also some kayaks and stand-up paddleboards, although we never used them because of the weather. If you enjoy surfing, there was a break just to the left of the home, about 100 yards out, that my son enjoyed. It seemed to be a very local spot--not many tourists out on the waves. I would keep going but I am out of space. This is a great find!!!

Beautiful Gem in Puako

We stayed for 6 nights is this wonderful home right on the ocean. The house was nicely equipped with everything you can possibly need. It is located in a little community called Puako, which is quaint and has beautiful beaches just a short drive away. The spot directly in front of the house is great for snorkeling, paddle boarding or kayaking, not swimming. Also, were able to walk to the Fairmont down the way and have meals and cocktails at their beach. We throughly enjoyed the house and all of it's amenities. The only things that would have made our stay even more enjoyable would have been air conditioning (it was very hot and humid durning the time we were there) and a pool. Debbie who is managing the property was extremely helpful and available any time we needed her. We will definitely be back to stay at this property!!!

Aloha and thank you for staying with us! We are actually looking a pool options, but the day rate will go up! There is actually AC in the two master suites upstairs to relax in. All the Luxury homes in Puako are designed to only have AC in the bedrooms or some of the bedrooms, since the preferred ambiance for the living areas are to have the huge pocket doors wide open to enjoy the indoor/outdoor living. Most of the time, the tradewind breezes are sufficient and it might feel claustrophobic to have all the windows and doors closed. We had guests in residence for the entire month of July that never used the AC one time, even though it was available and guests that came right after your stay commented that it was not needed. We do have other homes and condos without the huge open pocket doors to offer you in the future, should you prefer to have AC throughout! Mahalo for your feedback!

Amazing Beachfront Property

We spent two weeks at this amazing beachfront property, while on the Big Island for Ironman Kona. We were joined by our three adult children, their significant others and two grandchildren ages 7 and 3. The house had plenty of space for all ten of us, without feeling crowded. The house is well furnished and stocked, throughout. Paniau Beach, next door, provided fun with the kayaks, boogie boards, and fantastic snorkeling. The beach path at Paniau led us to the Petroglyph Park, as well as the Fairmont Orchid for brunch or an evening meal when we chose not to cook. Tide pools provided much entertainment and there were sea turtles, almost daily, right in front of the house and along the beach path. Morning coffee views and beautiful sunsets are never ending on the lanai. This was our second stay at this property, partly due to the owners and house manager. Both were quick to respond to any questions or concerns and provided endless information for restaurants, outings, etc. We enjoy the quiet and well-situated location of this beautiful property and can't wait to return!

Beautiful oceanfront home for relaxing family vacation

Wow! We had an incredible 10 days in this lovely home. The location is at the end of a quiet oceanfront neighborhood north of the Fairmont Hotel where we attended a family wedding. There is a path that connects along the oceanfront and my son and I paddle boarded from the home past the Fairmont. The oceanfront is full of interesting tidepools and there is nearby access for snorkeling and paddle boarding. The home is equiped with all manner of watersport equipment for use: snorkels, masks, fins, paddleboards, kayaks and boogie boards. No need to drag your gear to Hawaii! The house is fully equipped for cooking, grilling and dining and we enjoyed making and enjoying meals together, especially at dinner time watching stunning sunsets. The house is nicely located to explore beaches to the north, Waimea, and Hilo side of the island as well as Kona, Captain Cook and southern beaches and sights. We spent time on seven of the islands beautiful and diverse beaches. After long days of exploration we always were greeted by this beautiful and comfortable property as our own Hawaiian home to rest and recuperate. We highly recommend this luxury property.
