Amazing place to stay, close to San Marcos with easy access to the Hill Country. Owners were very responsive and helpful, would 100% stay here again!

Great Coples Getaway

This was our first time visiting the Wimberly area and this was a perfect spot for 4 couples. Secluded and set back among the trees but still very close to town. We really enjoyed the pavilion, fire pit and outdoor space. The cabin was nicely laid out and the decor made it feel cozy. Kitchen felt a little crammed and we wished there were a few more prep/baking dishes, but overall this place met all our expectations. We'd definately stay here again!

Lots of Room to Roam

The screened in porch was our favorite spot. We made use of the smoker and the grill. We loved how many options we had for dinner seating and game playing. Really well thought out for relaxing and connecting!

Four Generations Getaway

We had a great time in the relaxing hill country with time to sit on the front porch and s’mores around the fire pit. So many options for places for spending time together playing board games in the screened in porch to frisbee golf in the yard all around the house to eating at the large round table off the kitchen. Plenty of space for ten adults and 2 babies to enjoy the blessings of family!

Great property for family vacation

This property is a great choice for large families including children. There is plenty of space for kids to run around as well as entertain themselves with the game room. There was also enough space to find a quiet spot on the grounds if looking for a bit of a break away from others. The screened in patio was the favorite spot for an early morning coffee or an afternoon nap as well as the family dinners. It was very private and quiet yet close enough to town to make runs to the grocery store or shopping if needed. I would recommend this property.

Beautiful spot

This place is absolutely beautiful and so peaceful. We had plenty of room for everyone to relax and chill out. I especially loved the screened in porch and porch swing. Our young adults loved hanging out in the game room. The kitchen was well equipped for my foodie hubby and with the two large tables we had plenty of room for everyone to eat at once. Thank you so very much. We really loved it and have already recommended to friends!

Great stay with friends

Loved this house! Stayed here for a friend reunion with 14 adults and it was perfect. Lots of different spaces to hang out and everything was very clean and worked perfectly. We had no issues at all, from check in to the hot tub to the fire pit and grill. Definitely would recommend. As for activities, we loved the wimberley square/downtown area. Several great restaurants and nice coffee shops. We did the zipline which was fun and only about 10 minutes away (if you go on Sundays there’s a discount code - check the website!) Canyon lake was a bit disappointing due to the water being so low but that’s expected for the time of year. We did the Texas State Tubes water float which was great, about a 30 minute drive. Overall great trip and would stay here again!

Good experience

We absolutely had a good time. There was an issue with the water and it was addressed immediately. It is a nice quiet property however it is not as secluded as it appears. The only thing I think should be mentioned is that the stairs are very steep. For someone with knee, hip issues, older or small children they are hard to get up and down.

Awesome house besides ants

Nice house with plenty of room and the game room was awesome. Loved the hot tub and the fact that the property is pretty remote. The reason I am giving 4 stars is because of the ant issue. There were literally millions of ants everywhere outside, inside the game room, inside the screened in room, and in the master bedroom downstairs. We would stay here again if this issue gets resolved. You can’t stand anywhere without ants crawling on you. The property manager did give us a credit which was greatly appreciated.

Great Location, missing some small items and the property manager was hard to get a hold of.

The house was amazing, well advertised. However, the property manager was tough to get a hold of. Took me 3 weeks of phone calls and emails just to pay them. The AC in the game room was not working, no discs for the disc golf course, no wine opener, a door handle was loose and fell off and there was no tool box to fix it. We had to buy a screw driver to fix it (it was the front door). The house was really nice. It rained when we were on the back porch and it was so quiet with the rain on the tin roof. It was magical. Overall it needs some small amenities and a more communicative property manager but still a great place. Very quiet and enjoyable with enough to do on the property.

Great for big groups wanting Their own space

I would love to give this property a five but we just had too many issues. We had a blast anyway and made the most of it. Large house with plenty of rooms and bathrooms for everyone to have space. Didn’t find trundle in one of the rooms until second night or that the couch made a bed. There are multiple pics that need to be updated. The game room does not have fuse ball table. The furniture in living room is not the same and is not as comfortable. There is a horrible ant problem inside and out unfortunately. It does not claim to be handicap access and it definitely is not- if you have disability or any difficulty walking stair or on uneven surfaces, not the place for you. They are remodeling so there are types of issues as expected. There is very slow internet/wifi so even though there are a ton of TVs, there is nothing to watch other than dish network. Would be nice to have list of channels and heads up on wifi. Lots of activities on property. Property management responsive and wiling to send out maintenance. Took any concerns seriously and dealt with appropriately.

Perfect place for four couples to enjoy a long weekend away! Nice separate game / tv room off the main house. The guys loved the reclining chairs and big screen tv to watch opening weekend of college football! Beautiful property!

We had a wonderful time celebrating two high school friends turning 60! The house was perfect. We enjoyed the hot tub, cowboy pool and the game room. The kitchen was stocked and we cooked and enjoyed many meals together. Wimberley was fun too; good restaurants and shopping. Highly recommend!

Perfect retreat

We stayed here celebrating a girls weekend. It was the perfect spot to relax and accommodate several of us! It is located conveniently for access to amenities but yet still feels like a rural setting. Highly recommend!

Homestead House

Our entire family ages 75 to 10 enjoyed our stay at Homestead House and all the amenities it had to offer. The kitchen was well stocked and the home was very clean. The property is private and offers something for everyone. The towns of San Marcos and Wimberley offer a lot too!

Quaint Hill Country Log Cabin with hot tub

The beds were extremely comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed. We appreciated the recreational variety inside & outside and was in awe of the TV viewing options throughout the cabin & media room. The fireplace and hot tub were greatly appreciated. After staying at Cedar Vista several times we did miss the view.

Wimberly Paradise

We loved the Homestead House and would definitely stay again. The phrase "wow this is even nicer than we expected" was used many times. It's in a great location close to downtown Wimberly, but removed enough to feel very secluded. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed. We absolutely loved all the outdoor space. This is top of our list for staying in Wimberly.
