Wonderful Stay

We wanted to be in the great outdoors and in the mountains! This was exactly what we were looking for….had a wonderful time. Greg and Robbie were the best! Highly recommend.

Great stop for a short stay (and a longer one!)

This place was awesome, the open air shower, bathroom and kitchen were awesome! The bed was so comfortable and the facility was really clean. Wish I could have stayed longer but I plan to come back with the family. Thanks Sunny Mellow EV!

Awesome stay!

We absoleutely loved our stay in the yoga yurta! It was super comfortable, clean, and we loved the decor for it too. Gregory is such a nice host and immediately made us feel right at home. I highly recommend staying here and can guarantee that you will love it as well :)

A dream stay

I'm reluctant to say how great this place is because I want to stay here all the time and I don't want it booked up! So much more than an amazingly comfortable bed for the night. Magical, luxurious, fun.

We loved it!

We loved the yoga yurta! How fun to stay in a glamorized yurt! The yurt was so nice and clean. The yurt has its own kitchen, fire pit, bathroom, and shower. We loved exploring the property! We walked through the vineyard, swung on the big swings, did yoga on the deck and played games. We also made dinner in the outdoor kitchen. Everything we needed was included. We loved meeting Greg and his wife and learning about all they’ve done with the property. They were very friendly and welcoming. They even offered to allow us to use their guitar to play music or help us start a fire. We’ll be back soon to stay in the treehouse.

Much needed getaway

I live in Albuquerque and I took the day off so that I could come to Sunny mellow and decompress. The hosts are both very gracious and kind. I ate fruit from their orchard, walked in the woods all day, and watched a thunder and lightning storm. It was perfect. Thank you Greg and Robbie!

SUNNY-MAZING!

Wow. What a fun, amazing property and stay! My wife and I enjoyed our time there very much. It was very obvious how much time, resources, planning, care, and attention was put into the creation of this beautiful and relaxing space. Yurt, orchard, vineyard, yoga space, in pine scented air

Yurts are awesome. The bed was super comfy. The outdoor kitchen was nicely appointed. We made tea, coffee, and cooked a veggie noodle dish easily. Our private bathroom and shower was clean and a joy to use. Showering in the forest! Amazing views from our site. We picked some grapes and pears from the vineyard/orchard. Maybe we'll catch the plums ripening next time. Greg answered our million questions about how everything works and the history of the property. They are doing sacred work. A great space! We'll be back.

The PERFECT Get-Away!!

Staying at Greg and Robbie’s wonderfully charming, clean, and cozy yurt was one of the highlights of my week in New Mexico. Such a thoughtful place with all of the perfect details. Traveling as a solo woman I felt incredibly safe, and cannot wait to return with my three kids the next time I can make it out. If you want an extra special treat, book a massage with certified therapist Greg while you’re there. This place is not to be missed. Truly special.

The property is so well maintained and I loved the whole ambiance there and staying at the Yoga Yurta was a great experience. I highly recommend for persons looking for something different and not just staying at another hotel, but are not into real camping. The outdoor bathroom and shower were created so uniquely by Greg, who can do it all. It was a pleasure to meet and chat with Greg and his lovely wife Robbie. - Christian

Amazing!

We had a super great stay here! The property was clean and cute. Although my boyfriend and I were only able to stay 1 night, I wish we could’ve stayed longer. We will hopefully come back sometime soon for longer!

We really enjoyed staying here and hope to come back someday! We are from CO and used this as our overnight stay when going to the Balloon Fiesta and it was great. Easy to find, bed is SOOO comfortable, safe and away from the city. Loved it.

Find Your Peace at the Yoga Yurta

The Yoga Yurta is a great place to stay to get away from the hustle and bustle and reconnect to calm. It's exactly as advertised...a super comfortable bedroom that happens to be in a canvas walled yurt. Fall asleep looking up at the stars through the large clear plastic dome in the center of the roof while in the silent foothills of the Sandia Mountains. Enjoy watching the sun set and rise from your private, carefully created, maintained, and comfortable outdoor spaces, then enjoy the rest of the shared grounds. Only 25 minutes from the Albuquerque Airport, but a world away. Gregory is a kind, generous and welcoming host, and we look forward to staying again.

Rest & Relaxation at its best!

Our stay at the Yoga Yurta was one that we will remember for a lifetime. Gregory was an excellent host, so friendly and helpful. The yurt was decorated beautifully, so cozy and eclectic, we absolutely loved the uniqueness of the entire property. Sunny Mellow is a wonderful oasis, which offers privacy and a peaceful stay. We were able to look at the stars from the property. The bed was super comfy in the yurt, and the temperature was perfect. The bathroom facility and shower was outside, just a very short walk from the yurt. It felt refreshing and rejuvenating to shower outdoors. We had such a wonderful time. When we come back to New Mexico, we will definitely book again at Sunny Mellow!!

Basecamp to adventure!

We midwesterners visited New Mexico for the first time and chose this little spot to be the base for our adventures. It was perfect! It is right down the street from the Catholic Church so we were able to go to daily Mass and then headed out to explore something different each day. Gregory & Robbie will not steer you wrong! Every restaurant they recommended or sight to see lived up to the expectations. Everything here was clean, organized, comfortable, and yes it IS an adventure to have an outdoor kitchen and bathroom, but isn't that what vacation is for? Don't be worried, you CAN do it. (indoor girl talking here...). The property really is the nicest little sanctuary and we loved greeting each morning to birdsong instead of hotel noises. We can't wait to return someday!

The Sunny Mellow Eco Villa Story...

The serendipity of Sunny Mellow began with the name... Our daughter Elliott Marie penned a fantasy story in the 4th grade. In checking it for errors, I noticed the name of her Fictional Fantasy Land was "Sunny Mellow".

We had just purchased the first half of the property when I asked her if we could use her Sunny Mellow Name for our new home. "Sure Daddy" she replied. "It will help keep our home safe and alway happy and fun", she continued. "There are not many places were the Sun rises in the East end a canyon and sets in the West", she said with thought, with her lifted eyebrows! "And she continued, "We need a name that makes everyone smile"! "Oh Daddy". Elliott whispered now... "I Love My Sunny Bedroom at Sunny Mellow"!

Standing in the horse stable on our first day here, I thought, "Don't want horses, what to do with this structure"? I woke the next morning with the answer from a dream... A guesthouse! In 4 months we had remodeled the horse stable using stable wood into a one bedroom fully equipped small home! We used it for guests and as Robbie's art studio until that day when a friend suggested I list it for short term rental.

I laughed and did so. I pressed the button to list it and bing! Rented immediately... And continuously every since.

We purchased the second half of the property and on it built a second and third house for rentals... And The Chi-Treehouse! Being the success and great fun that it became, we finally built The Yoga Yurta as icing on the cake of our Sunny Mellow Eco Villa Empire, LOL! The Garden, Vineyard, Orchard and all the paths the link everything together just came along in time. Solar power is a passion and fun to tinker with. Yoga on the Expansive Redwood Yoga deck is a outright pleasure and Ping Pong under the stars a hoot!
