The Escape at Windswept is a beautifully prepared 1-bedroom oceanfront villa on Kiawah Island’s East Beach. Designed for couples, it offers lovely ocean views, a calm atmosphere, and an easy layout that makes it simple to settle in and enjoy your time together.
Step onto the oceanfront balcony for morning coffee, a glass of wine at sunset, or a quiet moment listening to the waves. The beach is just a one-minute walk away, so the ocean is always close.
The king bedroom is designed for rest, featuring a pillow-top mattress, memory foam topper, and soft Egyptian cotton sheets. A large smart TV, spacious walk-in shower, fully equipped kitchen, and in-villa washer and dryer make longer stays comfortable and convenient.
Perfect for anniversaries, honeymoons, or simply a peaceful getaway for two on Kiawah Island.
Please note that this property does not include access to the Kiawah Island Golf Resort pools.
To help you enjoy your time on the beach, we provide beach towels and a cooler in the property.
Additionally, beach chairs, sun shades, bikes, boogie boards, and baby equipment are also available for rent.

Beautiful condo with incredible beachfront views! The hosts were great to work with and made our “mini moon” in Kiawah really special. Highly recommend renting bikes to take advantage of all the great ways to explore the island. We would love to stay here again and will highly recommend this to anyone who is visiting Kiawah, especially couples or newlyweds!

Great experience overall. Had a very relaxing honeymoon stay. Beach is close by, property is clean and equipped. Will stay longer next time. We didn't have a chance to use the bikes on this trip but hope to next time.

Great stay at this condo! Close to the beach and had everything we needed. Unit was clean and host gave detailed and through information for each step in in the stay. Loved the deviled eggs and fresh flowers!

This condo was amazing! From the location to the view to the decor to the amenities---all top notch! And I can't say enough about our hosts! The communication was fantastic and homemade deviled eggs and fresh cut flowers??? I mean COME ON!!!! The stay was one for the books and I can't wait to return. Thanks for an incredible ( and much needed) respite!!!

Extremely well organized kitchen area with everything one would need for an extended stay. Communication excellent. Bed was very comfortable and views were lovely. We would definitely stay here again.

Loved the Escape
Everything about our stay, and the property, was perfect. Exceptionally clean and well appointed along with a great location. Highly recommend!

The Escape

Perfect Getaway!
The condo was top notch - very clean, well furnished and as described! Quiet neighborhood with very short, easy walk to the beach. Loved the views of the ocean! It was a perfect getaway for our anniversary!

Shawn's family discovered Kiawah in 1978 and returned year after year for two-week vacations. In 1985 we drove our VW Bug convertible to Kiawah and Shawn introduced me to Kiawah. I remember stepping over the dune boardwalk out in front of the Kiawah Island Inn and seeing Kiawah's wide, sandy beach for the first time - it was so brilliant it practically danced before my eyes. It was during this vacation that the two of us decided to set our sights on moving to this beautiful and fascinating place permanently.
In 1988 our dreams came true and our U-Haul rattled across the Kiawah Island bridge (at that time it was nothing more than a wood-planked bridge). For the next four years we rented a 1-bedroom villa, 4251 Mariner's Watch. Shawn was so thrilled to be living on the island that he applied for the personalized South Carolina license plate 'KIAWAH' (which we still have today).
In 1992, we built our first home on the island at 134 Conifer Lane. During construction, I gave birth to our first son Benjamin - he arrived 2 months early in an ambulance outside of the Kiawah Island Fire Station.
In 2001, we purchased our first villa, a 1-bedroom, beachside Seascape and Kiawah Island Getaways was born. Once we got our feet wet with the villa rental business, it was a like a fever for us. We both really enjoyed furnishing, decorating and maintaining the villas - not to mention the new found fun of meeting and talking to all sorts of people about Kiawah. Because we really enjoy what we do, other Kiawah property owners noticed and we started managing their properties as well.
Our whole family loves Kiawah and running Kiawah Island Getaways is a true family-run business. We personally prepare each villa prior to your arrival - because we want your stay to be perfect. We want you to fall in love with Kiawah too...and we know you will.
