Oceanfront Retreat for Two Couples

This property sleeps up to 4 guests.

Imagine waking up to the sound of the ocean just outside your window, stepping onto the balcony with a fresh cup of coffee, and watching the morning light roll across the Atlantic.

The Tidewater is the kind of place where two couples naturally settle into a relaxed coastal rhythm. Mornings begin with coffee and ocean views. Days drift toward long beach walks just steps from the villa. Evenings end on the balcony with a glass of wine and the sound of the waves.

Located only about 100 yards from the beach, Tidewater offers incredibly easy access to the shoreline. In just a minute or two you can be walking along the sand or enjoying the ocean breeze.

Inside, the villa is bright, stylish, and comfortable. The living room opens to an ocean-view deck, perfect for relaxing after a day at the beach. The kitchen features granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, making it easy to prepare breakfast before heading out or enjoy a simple dinner together.

The layout is especially ideal for couples traveling together. Two king master suites provide comfort and privacy, each with a smart TV and beautifully prepared bedding. The upstairs suite also includes a cozy reading nook with lovely ocean and landscape views. Twin airbeds are available if traveling with children.

Please note that this property does not include access to the Kiawah Island Golf Resort pools.

To help you enjoy your time on the beach, we provide beach towels and a cooler in the property.

Additionally, beach chairs, sun shades, bikes, boogie boards, and baby equipment are also available for rent.

To ensure fairness for all guests, our rates are set using dynamic pricing and are not negotiable. We are unable to offer discounts or adjust rates upon request.

Couldn’t have been any cleaner or nicer of a rental. The location was excellent and the hosts were extremely communicative and helpful. The place has been completely renovated and was perfect for two couples. The only suggestion I have is to replace the lower bed mattress as the thick topper on the bed is hot and not supportive for backs. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Proximity to the beach was fantastic. Well appointed property, very clean, nice layout and furnishings. Very happy with location and communications. Would definitely recommend. The only slight disappointment was that the outside deck is quite small and a bit crowded for 4 adults, but we made it work and it did not take away from the overall experience. Overall, lovely property right on the beach. Very pleased.

Thank you Craig for taking the time to write this review. The deck is standard size for a Windswept deck. Some Windswept decks are extra large, but the great majority are the same size as this one. We have images on our listing that represent it well. And we do our very best to provide seating that accommodates 4 adults.

We stayed 4 nights at this beautiful beachfront condo. The welcomed deviled eggs started our stay. Bedding, my high ranking key, was wonderful. We didn't even need to your our own personal pillows we brought for the trip. Location is steps to the beach and views from the living and nook area are beautiful. Kitchen is outfitted with two choices of coffee makers. Parking is convenient as well. The only issue is when booking private properties instead of the resort hotels is you don't have access to the Night Heron's Park amenities other than the cafe diner. Not a big miss but important to know.

Overall, I’d call this one of the better VRBO options on Kiawah. Perfect location. Steps from the beach which is a MAJOR convenience advantage when packing all of your beach gear to and from. We would absolutely stay here again.

Perfect spot on the beach!

This property has great views of the ocean and was just what we needed. We were close enough to the sand that we could walk on the beach in the mornings, come back for lunch and go out again to sit and watch the waves. The Ocean Course was gorgeous and we enjoyed visiting several on property restaurants as well as surrounding area restaurants, shopping and fresh seafood markets. We hope to visit again next summer!.

Perfect location

Wonderful place for our family of 4 ( grown children in their 20’s). Close to the beach. Nice views of the ocean from upper level master. Very comfortable beds. Host was very helpful pre and post stay. Provided helpful info through out. Check in and out process easy. Highly recommend!! Very clean as well.

Perfect!

The stay at this Kiawah villa was perfect. It’s a short walk to the beach with the boardwalk to the beach very close by. The week we were there it was low tide during the day, and the beach was SO wide. The villa was beautifully decorated, VERY clean (and I’m pretty picky about that) with beautiful views of the ocean, especially from the upstairs bedroom. Also, nice touch with flowers, and some lights and music on when we arrived. The kitchen is very well equipped and very organized. We would definitely stay here again!

Mariah was everything we hoped for. Its location was wonderful with a fabulous view of the beach and ocean. The apartment was very clean, beautifully furnished and very well equipped, particularly the kitchen, and it was obvious a great deal of thought had been put into its set up. The owners arrived to greet us soon after our arrival and responded very quickly to our one request for help. The resort's proximity to Charleston is an added bonus and we were also able to find and play golf on several nearby courses. We would have no hesitation to recommend this property to friends and family.

Great host!! Very easy to deal with. Communication was great. Check in and check out was seamless and easy. Nice personal touches that were unexpected but very appreciated. One example was a tray of homemade deviled eggs in the refrigerator when we got there. Great location, convenient to everything. Fantastic villa with fantastic view on West beach. Very clean. Plenty of room for the three people that were in our party. I would definitely go back. May consider some of their larger properties as well because they look amazing.

About Property Managers/Owners, Shawn and Jeanette Lawson (Kiawah Island Getaways):

Shawn's family discovered Kiawah in 1978 and returned year after year for two-week vacations. In 1985 we drove our VW Bug convertible to Kiawah and Shawn introduced me to Kiawah. I remember stepping over the dune boardwalk out in front of the Kiawah Island Inn and seeing Kiawah's wide, sandy beach for the first time - it was so brilliant it practically danced before my eyes. It was during this vacation that the two of us decided to set our sights on moving to this beautiful and fascinating place permanently.

In 1988 our dreams came true and our U-Haul rattled across the Kiawah Island bridge (at that time it was nothing more than a wood-planked bridge). For the next four years we rented a 1-bedroom villa, 4251 Mariner's Watch. Shawn was so thrilled to be living on the island that he applied for the personalized South Carolina license plate 'KIAWAH' (which we still have today).

In 1992, we built our first home on the island at 134 Conifer Lane. During construction, I gave birth to our first son Benjamin - he arrived 2 months early in an ambulance outside of the Kiawah Island Fire Station.

In 2001, we purchased our first villa, a 1-bedroom, beachside Seascape and Kiawah Island Getaways was born. Once we got our feet wet with the villa rental business, it was a like a fever for us. We both really enjoyed furnishing, decorating and maintaining the villas - not to mention the new found fun of meeting and talking to all sorts of people about Kiawah. Because we really enjoy what we do, other Kiawah property owners noticed and we started managing their properties as well.

Our whole family loves Kiawah and running Kiawah Island Getaways is a true family-run business. We personally prepare each villa prior to your arrival - because we want your stay to be perfect. We want you to fall in love with Kiawah too...and we know you will.
