The Captain's Cottage is a quaint fishing cottage that makes the perfect retreat for honeymooners, a couples getaway or a family up to 4. The kitchen, dining and living room are all open to each other creating a bright and sunny atmosphere. There are many large windows which allow a lake view from every room in the house. Kitchen has been updated with granite counter tops.

Just steps away from the front door, you are sure to enjoy swimming, sunning, fishing, bird and boat watching and all of the activities that lend itself to lake living. The house has a great swim area, a large swim dock and a deck on the front of the house that faces the lake. You don't want to miss the sunrises and sunsets from the deck of the Captain's House. They are truly breathtaking and yes, you can see both from the deck and the dock.

Hot Springs National Park has been known as Arkansas' premiere resort town since Hernando Desoto. (That's a long time!) Attractions to see include: the National Park, Magic Springs Amusement and Water Park, The Belle of Hot Springs Riverboat, Garvan Woodland Gardens, Oaklawn Race Track and Casino, Mid America Science Museum, The 5 Star Theater, Gangster Museum, Pirate Cove Mini Golf, and shopping in our beautiful downtown. Hot Springs is also a great place take a bath and massage, hike, horseback ride, shop, golf, eat--great restaurants, and of course.....relax.

Birthday (60th) Getaway

We loved this adorable cabin on the lake. This was our fourth visit to Hot Springs/Lake Hamilton, but our first time in the Captain's Cabin. We plan to visit/stay again! Thank you so much!

GREAT getaway!

Super easy check in. Accurate posting. Great stay for me, my husband, and our 2 teenage boys (18 & 15). Easy 20 minute drive from Camp Ozark, reason we were in the area. The view of the lake on the porch and pier were impeccable! In town and close to anything you may need. Only negative was driveway was pretty steep but nothing our vehicle (Toyota Highlander) couldn't handle. Will definitely stay here again if in the area!

The house was great! I had plenty of privacy that’s important to me. Water and peri was so nice. If you are an early bird you can catch a Beautiful sunrise. Very peaceful stay. Great host!

Captains cottage!

Our stay was wonderful we caught lots of fish.. The house was cute and great location but it was not clean at all there were crumbs under couches that were visible as soon as we walked in, cob webs and dust on the light fixtures and ceiling fans, under the beds haven’t been vacuumed in a while and the sheets on one of the beds had stains on them, the house has minimal for cooking we couldn’t even find a spatula and the pots and pans could use some updating. The house needs a very thorough deep cleaning, some of the dishes, pans and appliances in the cabinets weren’t cleaned properly. I have stayed here a couple of times in the past with no complaints but the drive ways new concrete made it so much more difficult for multiple cars to maneuver around and the cleanliness of the property has definitely decreased since our last visit!

Amazing View of the Water

The property was very nice and well maintained. Has an amazing view of the water. Property owner had quick response time to inquires. We would definitely stay here again.

Loved everything!

We over everything about the property. It was clean, owners were friendly, and the lake was great! Close to town but not right in town and was quiet. We will be back!

Quiet and in a Great Area

Split floor plan with plenty of space. Kitchen/bath towels were quality, furniture was comfortable, windows provided a beautiful view, and gas provided hot water fast. Nice covered porch to watch the sunset, water, and/or birds fly by. The owners are super friendly, and check-in was easy. Our overall stay was very nice. A couple things to mention: the driveway is steeeep, minimal pots and pans, be careful on the rugs they slide easily, for parents with kids.. the pier doesn't have kid friendly hand/guard rails, and minimal privacy at night as you can see through the windows when the lights are on.

Cute lil cabin

The cabin was very clean and well furnished. We enjoyed the dock. Unfortunately, the fish weren’t biting during our stay. The only comment I would make is the driveway is extremely rough and parking was difficult. But overall we enjoyed our stay. I loved that the cabin had a washer and dryer as well.

Amazing property!!

Amazing cottage, super clean and nicely nested in a great neighborhood with lots of stores and places to go. The owners couldn’t be more helpful and gracious towards us, super eager to help and ensure everything is smooth throughout the process. My wife and pups had a great time at the cottage. I 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice and peaceful place to vacation and enjoy life, can’t wait for next summer to come back again, Thank you so much Mark and Gigi!!! Y’all are rockstars.

Anfitrión: Mark Buhrow

Mark and Gigi Buhrow have owned the Captain's Cottage for almost 20 years. We also owned and operated the Belle of Hot Springs Riverboat on Lake Hamilton and Gilligan's Lakeside Café from 1983 to 2016. This is where the name 'Captain's Cottage comes from. Mark and Gigi have four children and four grandchildren. They have lived in Hot Springs for over 33 years and love the relaxed lake life atmosphere.
