This location is ideal for vacationers, horse back riders, hunters, or anyone wanting a remote beautiful quiet location. This property has an expansive view. Close to a nice Restaurant and bar with gaming facility, which is closest neighbor. NO SMOKING INSIDE. Outside smoking only. Located just a few miles from Garden of the Gods, Fishing and boating at Gleno Jones lake, Stone Face, Bell Smith Springs, Burden Falls, High Knob ranch, Double M campground.

Fall getaway

This was a great location for our stay. Foliage was beautiful. And it’s close to the garden of gods and other attractions. This property is very well taken care of inside and out. Eloise was a super friendly host.. very attentive to our needs. Would definitely love to stay here again.

Excellent get away

Hidden gem of the Shawnee National Forest. Very private close to trails and fishing. Nice little bar less than a half mile away but not a distraction to why your there relaxation. Plenty of wildlife to observe. Would recommend this property to everyone!!!!

Long Weekend

We needed a place close to family for a short visit. This place was perfect. My favorite spot was to sit on the porch and watch the deer in the morning. We will definitely stay here again.

Shawnee Forest Trip

Very clean, comfortable, peaceful place.Ten plus deer the directly across from the property every morning. Eloise was very friendly and accommodating. Great location. Many attractions less than an hour away.

Peaceful

We needed a place to sleep and rest while visiting family and especially our only grandchild who will be 3 next month. Grandchildren can be a real drain since we are well into our 70's.

Great stay in a perfect location central to so many great spots in Southern IL!

Eloise was great to work with and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. Highly recommend you stay in this cozy spot if you’re looking to do anything in the area. So much to see, some great hikes, and the tree swing, hammock, and her dogs were a great hit with the kids!

Nice home away from home

Good location on the north end of SNF, quiet and private. Woods in the back and farm field in the front, nice country feel and view. Hot shower, comfy bed, and nice kitchen for coffee and meals. We didn't get to spend much time there since we were gone every day exploring the area. I did sit in the swing by the fire pit for a few minutes before we checked out. Hopefully we can come back someday and we can enjoy a bonfire there with firewood that's provided with the stay. Lovely outdoor area to relax. Place was clean, roomy and comfortable. Would stay there again and recommend to friends.

Great location, peaceful, quiet. Easy to visit all areas in the Shawnee. Just a few minutes from Garden of the Gods, Stoneface, Cave in the Rock. Stars were beautiful at night.

Perfect landing spot for a visit to Garden of the Gods

My stay couldn't have been better. The accommodations were very clean and convenient and the beds were very comfortable. Everything we needed was provided. Eloise was extremely friendly, kind, and accommodating! She knew it was my birthday and left me a great card and some divine banana cupcakes that her friend made. I enjoyed coffee on the front porch every morning and the star watching at night was AMAZING. I would absolutely stay here again!

Beautiful sunset view

The property meet our family of 4 expectations. We went to check out the eastern side of the Shawnee forest. We went to garden of gods, cave in rock, rim rock, and bell smith springs. The view and privacy are just what we needed. This location is not close to restaurants or stores. We cooked all our meals but one there. We did have a good meal at Trails End after hiking.

Southern Illinois

We chose this property because it allowed couples their own rooms and bathrooms. In addition, this property is in the country with a beautiful view. We enjoyed the hammock and bench swing as well. We hiked at Garden of the Gods viewing the tree tops and then hiking the lower rim. We also hiked at Rim Rock. The next day we went to Jackson Falls but didn't take the hike down to get the front view of the falls. But, we did get to watch a 6/7 year old boy (fully supervised by his dad and his dad's friend) climb down a rock ledge in his rock climbing gear (safety all the way). And, we videoed a teen jump from the top of the falls into the pool of water below. He even climbed back up via a tree/trees the are growing next to the rock wall. That was cool too!

Peaceful and quiet

Peace and quiet in So.IL

Eloise’s place was very comfortable and extremely clean. We enjoyed the sunsets from the front porch, and the quiet surroundings as a break from city life. We enjoyed hiking, biking, and exploring local towns in the area. The hosts were so friendly and welcoming. We would definitely recommend and stay again.
