Sassafras Ridge log cabin is an Amish built log cabin that will sleep 6 comfortably (8 possible), has an antique claw foot tub with shower surround, a staircase to the open loft with 2 full beds and 2 twin beds. The futon in the living area folds out to a comfortable queen size bed. The kitchen is equipped with an apartment size refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, toaster, coffee pot and all the dishes you'll need. We supply complimentary coffee, coffee filters, cream, sugar packets, salt, pepper, hand soap, dish soap, toilet paper, paper towels, firewood and camp chairs and of course, FREE WiFi.Sassafras Ridge is affordably priced. This cabin is part of Timber Ridge Outpost and Cabins. All guests will check in at our ice cream and gift store, Garden of the Gods Outpost.Located just minutes from the famous Garden of the Gods Wilderness area, Pounds Hollow lake and Rim Rock in the Shawnee National Forest, this little gem is right where you want to be. There is a pavilion on the property for all guests to enjoy with tether ball, horseshoes and bags (corn hole) games as well as a catch and release pond for fishing. Timber Ridge Outpost and Cabins is ranked #1 in our area on TripAdvisor with over 200 FIVE STAR reviews. Come see what all the fuss is about and go home with memories to last a lifetime!*** Pets and Kids:***We are a Pet and Kid Friendly resort. We allow up to two pets per unit for no additional charge, however, we do require a credit card to be on file in the event there is any damage to the unit or its furnishings. To remain a pet friendly resort, pets that are aggressive towards other dogs, cats or people, will NOT be allowed. Pet owners assume ALL liability for their pets. We do have cats on our property so if your dog is aggressive or likes to chase cats, please leash them at all times or do not bring them. We love our pets too. Aggressive animals will be asked to leave immediately.All pets are required to be current on shots and must be protected with Flea and Tick medicine BEFORE you arrive. If you forget, we do have some for sale in the Outpost. All pets must be crated if left unattended in the units. No exceptions please! For your convenience, we do rent crates of all sizes for $8 per visit (not per night) but it is BYOB (Bring Your Own Blanket). Please call us in advance if you will need a crate in your unit. Please note, we will automatically charge your credit card for any damages done to the units, furnishings, linens or towels. Although we have never had to charge someone for damages, you will be required to sign a paper stating that you agree to these charges in advance. In the event this is ever necessary, we will provide photographs of the damages. PLEASE help us remain a pet friendly resort and just let us know if your pet had a bad day and accidentally chewed the towel or corner of the rug. We ask only that you reimburse us for the cost of the damaged item.Even if your pet typically doesn't jump on the furniture, PLEASE bring thick blankets to cover the furniture with anyway! This goes a long way to helping the cleaning people get all the dog hair up before the next guests arrive. Thanks! All guests MUST check in at our ice cream and gift shop Garden of the God's outpost at 281 Karber's ridge road. Once checked in you will be given your door code, wifi password, local information and a map to the cabin you are staying at. Currently the Outpost is open Monday-Thursday 10a-6p and Friday-Sunday 10a-8p , if you'll be arriving after hours please call the Outpost at 618-264-9091 to arrange after hours check in. The Outpost serves as a sort of home base for all our guests with supplies, gifts, ice cream, to go food, t-shirts and more.

Cabin was cute, clean, and pet friendly. We enjoyed the fire pit area each evening. The price was reasonable and it was a really good value. We would stay here again. Grounds were nicely kept and the Outpost was nice for ice cream in the afternoon. The location was good for not having to travel too far to go hiking or exploring. Had a relaxing and peaceful stay!!

It was very cozy and clean. Great place to stay. We enjoyed the private fire pit area that came equipped with wood, chairs and a hammock. Would definitely recommend!

Very sweet place, well thought out and tended to. We enjoyed our stay a lot. The cabin is said to house 6 to 8 but honestly you'd be comfortable with a max of 4 to 5. Great opportunities for fun right on the property - fire pit, hammock, porch swing and a little catch and release pond. General store a few miles away.

Lovely cabin near great hiking trails. Loved the front deck where you can enjoy peaceful morning coffee. Some ants in the cabin but not surprising as you are literally in the national forest. The cookware was surprisingly good compared to many vacation rental places that we have visited (glad to see stainless steel pans/pots/gadgets over scratched up non-sticks and plastics).Beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean.Would love to come back. Highly recommend

The cabin was nice, matched the pictures online. It was also very clean, only 2 or so spills in the fridge which just took a quick wipe. The ac worked better on 1st level than on 2nd but kind of expected as one downstairs is a wall ac and upstairs it was a smaller window unit. We fit 5 adults and 3 kids comfortably. They had firewood very close to the cabin which was nice, and the view of starts in the large field across the cabin was great! They are pet friendly so we were able to bring our cat, loved that! Check in was very smooth & they were accomidating to us having a very late check in. I also really liked how you didnt need keys to access the cabin, used a pin at door which was convinient as there was no worries on losing a set of keys. Would definetly go again! :)

The host was very responsive to any questions and always willing to help. The cabin was well supplied and very relaxing. We had a great visit and would return if the opportunity comes.

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin was cozy and had everything you need. The fire pit was a nice way to end the day

Very clean and well stocked cabin. The area is very peaceful and the community area with porch swings was a real bonus! Love that the property also provides firewood for outdoor campfires.

It was a nice getaway and in a perfect location to experience the wonders of the forest.
Even though there were cabins nearby it was very private and relaxing.

Anniversary Weekend
Loved the property. The cabin was beautiful and in perfect location to enjoy all the Shawnee National Forest has to offer

This was our first time staying here and it didn’t disappoint! The cute little Outpost store, the cleanliness of the cabin, the accommodations and the location were all what will bring us back! Thank you for the great weekend!

Awesome place!
What an awesome little place to say for visiting GOTG and other surrounding attractions! Nearly fully furnished kitchen was awesome. Would definitely stay again!

Charming cabin! Easy check-in at the Outpost and the cabin was super-clean. We thoroughly enjoyed the front porch swing as well as the fire pit area. The peacefulness made it a perfect little getaway! We enjoyed making furry friends with the welcoming kitty committee! Would love to return someday!

Quick weekend trip
Very peaceful and quiet. We had everything we needed and cabin was very clean. Would come back to stay again.
