Beautiful place. Fair price and FIBER INTERNET!! Enjoyed our stay. Hot tub cannot run heat and jets at same time and was loud. House has no sound proofing and can hear everything in every room. BUT I would stay again. The land is beautiful and it fit our family well.

It was a great place for nice southern Illinois getaway. I like that the house was on a large lot of land. Everything was clean and very comfortable.

Beautiful wooden cabin inside and out. While situated on a hill, the setting provides excellent privacy as there no visible neighbors. The hot tub was wonderful after a day of hiking. Highly recommend if you are looking for a stay near the Shawnee National Forest.

The place was great we hosted a micro wedding there and it was perfect for what we wanted. The place was a great location and secluded from others. We had about 35 guests and everyone was comfortable inside and plenty of space for everything. The hot tub was a great bonus. The views were amazing. Great location if you enjoy hiking. It’s very close to Garden of the Gods which is one of the most beautiful places you can visit in Illinois.

Loved this cozy cabin! It was the perfect place to relax after each hiking adventure. One day there are turkeys strolling by. Another day 5 deer graze by the pond. I’ll definitely be back to this cabin!

Beautiful, cozy, well-appointed cabin in an amazing woodland setting. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay while enjoying the fall colors and natural beauty of the area. All of the amenities of comfortable living in a true log home. Highly recommended!

It was a wonderful and relaxing experience. The hosts were awesome and helpful. The cabin was clean with a lovely veiw off the porch. My favorite part was the hot tub!

This was our third time staying at this cabin. As always, it was a lovely time. This time was just my husband and I. We enjoyed some fishing, hot tub time, walks around the property, and fires at night. We will be planning a family Christmas trip back for next year!

Beautiful view and very peaceful. Plenty of space indoors and out if you have yard games. We enjoyed the hot tub and having s'mores around the fire. The home was lovely and comfortable. Loads of activities close by for family fun. We are so grateful for being able to stay in this beautiful home!!

We were a bit surprised by the amount of mouse feces in the cupboards and cabinets - perhaps the property had not been rented recently. We contacted VRBO and the owner when we discovered it on the Sunday we arrived and someone came to clean the mouse trails and the kitchen Monday morning. We were also a bit surprised by the bedroom logistics simply described in the VRBO listing as "charming 3-bedroom property features two full baths." There were in deed three bedrooms and two baths. One bedroom and bath was on the first floor. The other two bedrooms and bath were on the second floor. The challenge was that the upstairs bathroom was connected to the third bedroom and the third bedroom was connected to the second bedroom. Logistically this meant you walk immediately into the second bedroom at the top of the stairs (which had no door knob or latch), through that to get to the third bedroom and need to walk through both bedrooms to get to the bathroom (which had no door). It presented some compromise if a person needs the upstairs bathroom when the bedrooms are occupied. The fourth wall of the bedroom at the top of the stairs was plywood that did not extend all the way to the ceiling. It also had no ventilation so with it being the apex of the A-Frame, and heat rising, it fell a little short of "ensuring a superb night's sleep" ( a fan was provided). And call out to the creative electrical work including the exposed switch attached to the bottom of a wall table .

The cabin is very secluded! The road to get there is dangerous unpaved and narrow. We had to swerve onto the side of the road because we encountered a couple local teenagers in cars and atv's, doing well over 50mph so stay alert! The beds and rooms were clean and comfortable. The cookware was very worn all the nonstick was chipped and showing metal and should be replaced, only 1 small 8" sauce pan and 1 8"stainless stock pot is all we felt comfortable using because of the poor condition . Check-in was 4 PM. We arrived early 3:30p.m and the owner was still getting the inside ready. We had to wait, outside with her jumping and bitting dog.. after a 5hr drive. If you rent it plan accordingly and dont arrive 30min early

We absolutely loved our stay here. First, I would like to imitate that the host was incredibly friendly and communicative. The cabin was cozy and immediately upon pulling up the driveway, the feelings of privacy, peace, and comfort came in. We loved the aesthetic of the cabin. The beds are comfortable. There were plenty of towels available. The cabin remained warm even while it was 11 outside. The sunrises and sunsets were beautiful. The hot tub was incredibly cozy, but only about 3/4 full in volume so we couldn’t quite get cozy and submerge fully to avoid the cold winds. The grill worked great. The campfire outside is cozy and quaint. Overall we loved the stay here and I’d recommend it for a getaway with your partner or some friends!Some things of note- I would still give this property five stars, but, I think it’s important to at least know these things before you book:Cookware - I would bring your own cookware if you are planning on prepping your own meals. There were an array of pots and pans, but many were scratched up, Teflon. One thing we really needed constantly was a large bowl for making batter for waffles, popcorn, etc. I would just bring your own knives and kitchenware. They had plenty of cutlery.Bring your own body wash, shampoo, conditioner, the host does not have any. Cleaning supplies - the host does not leave many cleaning supplies, I would recommend bringing your own for the dishwasher and wiping the countertops. Still, an amazing stay!

Absolutely loved staying here!! The place is even more gorgeous in person, pictures don't do it justice. Loved staying here with our dogs and really enjoyed sitting outside with the beautiful view!
