The Marshview Cottage is located in a beautiful, quiet setting in Cape Porpoise, Maine. It is nestled by the marsh where song birds are heard and herons are seen. Private back yard with patio/fire pit, beautiful garden area, dining table and chairs. Local restaurants, a market, church and library are located within walking distance. Beaches, shops and dining in Kennebunkport are within minutes of driving. Full kitchen. Queen bed, two single beds and sofa bed. Linens provided.

Marshview Cottage was perfect for my husband and I while staying in Cape Porpoise. The cottage has everything you need to enjoy the area and is only a five minute drive to Goose Rocks Beach and 10 minutes to downtown Kennebunkport. We found it quiet and comfortable especially the outdoor shower and the enclosed outdoor space.

Hands down our favorite rental we’ve had over the 13 years we’ve been coming to the area. Well equipped, quiet, access for paddling, and super friendly hosts and neighbors. Our 10 year old loved reading in the window seat and sleeping in the lofted bed. Our 15 year old used the sleeper sofa and said it was super comfortable. We loved spending time outside on the patio and deck. Book this stay- you will not regret it!

Cape Porpoise Treasure.

Dan and Melissa were fabulous hosts. They were well above any other hosts that we have stayed at with VRBO. Property clean, amenities plentiful, great location. We would definitely book there again if we get back to that area. Thank you Dan and Melissa.

Paddler’s Paradise

We always enjoy the peace and serenity of Marshview Cottage. The Hosts are terrific, and they maintain a clean, nicely furnished and beautifully decorated charming cottage. The outside garden and flowers surround a patio perfect for lounging, when not out enjoying the nearby beaches, shops and restaurants. The 2 kayaks are available for visitors to use, with only a short walk to Sampson Cove. The outdoor shower is the best!

Great cottage in Cape Porpoise!

Melissa's cottage was a lovely home away from home and provided a fantastic location and charming decor. Just around the corner from the famed Nunan's Lobster Hut and down the road from Dock Square and Goose Rocks Beach, this home is situated in an ideal spot to explore all of Kennebunkport and beyond. Melissa was very responsive and the home had all the comforts you could want. The outdoor space is a lovely landscaped garden area and is just steps from the marsh. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

A Little Slice of Cape Porpoise Paradise

A picture is worth 1000 words...just take a peek at Marshview Cottage photos and you will understand why we call it “a little slice of paradise”. Dan and Melissa offer a cozy, quiet, crisp and clean retreat in the Cape Porpoise area of Kennebunkport, Maine. The cottage is at the end of a quiet street but only a short walk will bring you to restaurants and a short drive to nearby Goose Rocks beach and Dock Square. Amenities include a beautiful garden with Adirondack and lounge chairs, a fire pit, umbrella table, outdoor shower with hot and cold water and kayaks for your pleasure. A foot path away are the marshes and a paddler’s dream. The cottage is decorated with such seaside flair it could be on the cover of a magazine! Our Kennebunkport friends stopped by for lunch and they didn’t want to leave. What more can one say - you will love your stay at Marshview Cottage.

Cozy haven on the marsh

Cozy, clean well-decorated and well equipped cottage in a cute neighborhood a few miles away from kennebunkport Dock Square area. Full size pullout couch in living room was comfortable. Queen bed upstairs was very comfortable. House is within 10 minutes walking distance to takeout gourmet store, small grocery store and restaurant “Musette” serving 3 meals a day. Nunans lobster hut is a five minute walk from cottage. It opens at 5pm each Night. (Doesn’t accept reservations ). The cottage is in close proximity to other homes and a short distance from access to a cove if you want to kayak. They provide two kayaks, which is great. You have to carry the kayaks down to the water access which is through a neighbors backyard. (There is a right of way). We opted not to ride bicycles in the area as there was no bike shoulder on most roads and there was a lot of vehicular traffic. Owners were very accommodating. A good stay in kennebunkport Labor Day weekend 2019!

Cozy Family Stay

The property is adorable and cozy. We had a lovely family vacation. The home is very clean and well adorned with amenities. The backyard is fantastic with table, outside shower and fire pit all set up for ease of use. The property is fenced which is great for our little guy. The patio door is right off the living room and there is a great balcony off of the master - this allows for the outside space to feel like a part of the home. The size of the home made it perfect for our family to gather while having the luxury of having our own cozy space. You can walk to several restaurants and a cute local store. The house is on a private, quiet street which was great for our son to ride his bike. Melissa and Dan are fantastic host with attention to detail. The host are easy to reach and provided options on places to go apple picking, restaurants and even a photographer. The home had a large welcome basket, kind note and personalized weather forecast. The check-in and check-out process was seamless. Melissa even called when we had left some items. We would love to come back during the summer. Fully recommend! Thank you for a cozy and relaxing stay.

Memories of Maine

Loved being in the area I used to vacation as a child. Close to many attractions and restaurants. Nunan’s Lobster house just around the corner and we managed to eat there 3 times. Nice accommodations and well supplied kitchen. All in all a wonderful vacation

Away from the noise

Marshview is a wonderful place to get away from all the noise happening everyday. Beautiful marsh to watch wildlife and just think. The cottage is perfect and has everything you need to be comfortable.

Marvelous Memories of Marshview Cottage

Marshview Cottage sits at the end of a road in Cape Porpoise in a private setting. There seems to always be a lovely breeze, on a partly sunny, partly shady blue stone patio, complete with an umbrella table, Adirondack chairs circling a fire pit, two overstuffed comfy arm chairs that face the corner of the garden filled with bouquets of color. Adventurous guests are welcomed to launch the 2 kayaks on nearby Sampson Cove, and upon returning, you can hit the super outdoor shower. The cottage accommodations are just as perfect. Complete kitchen, designer look living room, and a large primary second floor bedroom with sliding doors to a balcony for two. This was our second stay, and it is a place we are looking forward to a return visit next summer. The memories of Marshview Cottage will make you want a return visit. Jim + Joyce M.

BEST 2.5 week stay at Marshview Cottage! Dan and Melissa could not have been better hosts. Every detail about the property was impeccable. Awesome location and walkable to beautiful spots in Cape Porpoise. We hated to leave this slice of paradise.

Best stay, best hosts, absolute must.

We rented this house for 6 weeks. The house is impeccable from top to bottom, inside and out. Absolutely gorgeous design. The outdoor space, especially the fire pit, was designed for every outdoor use you can think of. We loved the location - so close to good good eats and quick day trips. The kayaks and location to the marsh was a perfect activity for late summer and early fall. Dan and Melissa are the best hosts we could have asked for. From the welcome gift to the cleaning of the fire pit and restocking of wood to the recommendations for an emergency dentist (and calling to have me fit in) - no detail was overlooked, no ask too much. We had the very best stay here we’ve ever had in all our travels and we cannot wait to come back.

A Perfect Spot

Thanks for another perfect getaway. The owners have thought of everything you might need for a relaxing escape. Wish we could have stayed all summer! We especially enjoyed the ease of avoiding crowds, hiking, biking and kayaking daily.

Lovely stay in Cape Porpoise

Lovely spot. Peaceful. The house was very accurately represented in the listing. Beautifully decorated. Very well equipped house. Beautiful landscaping. Owners have thought of every detail. Walk to fabulous lobster pound and gourmet market. Dan and Melissa are extremely helpful with suggestions for activities, beaches, restaurants. We biked into Kennebunkport and walked to Cape Porpoise. Kayaked to the lighthouse and other nearby islands. A wonderful getaway for our family.

Our business doesn't allow us to, as summer time is the most demanding time of year. We purchased the Marshview Cottage to give you the opportunity to experience a quiet, peaceful getaway in our quaint little village.

Enjoy time with a book on our patio or with your significant other by the crackling fire, with a glass of wine. The property is located very close to the village of Cape Porpoise. Enjoy an easy walk to the grocery store, Nunan's Lobster Hut, The Musette and Cape Porpoise Kitchen.
