The site was incredible. The scent of pine trees was lovely, the dark sky provided amazing stargazing, and the proximity to the Schoodic side of Acadia was great. The house was comfortable and clean. The only real caveat is the driveway has ruts that made us glad we took my wife's RAV4. The carriage on my Impreza might have been too low to avoid bottoming out...but nothing out of the ordinary for a spot in the country. We loved staying there.

Really enjoyed staying here. The house was clean and cozy. It’s also actually dog friendly with a lockable gate on the porch and a screened in area as well. The marsh access was very close. The host instructions and information were detailed and helpful for the house and finding local places to eat and visit. The only warning I have for others looking to stay here is that the driveway is a bit rough in certain areas so a higher clearance vehicle is better to get down to the house. I highly recommend booking the house though, especially if you bring your dog. It’s a great place and it’s secluded. The view of the stars is phenomenal. It’s a very peaceful vacation spot.

The place is perfectly situated in the middle of nowhere just as we like. The place was clean and had plenty of cookware. If the steps to the water had a hand rail that would be really great but we had no issues. Oak was very responsive and helpful!

The cabin was spacious, clean and comfortable. Both the deck and screen porch were greatly appreciated and we both fell in love with the gas fireplace, the ambiance of a wood stove with the luxury of a thermostat! We only used the main bedroom but there were two others if needed. We kayaked from the rocks at the bottom of their stairs paying attention to the window of a couple of hours around the high tide. Though there were a lot of kayaks to use, we had brought our own inflatable but used their life jackets. We also used a couple of their many bikes and cycled around a 4.1 mile loop from the cabin access road. We would love to spend more time here in the future. Our only caution, no fault of the host, is that Google Maps has you turning down their neighbor’s drive, they are slightly further along. Most of the cabins of the road are not visible from the road being very close to the water. We would heartily recommend!

The VRBO was clean, the hosts were very kind, and very quick to respond. They own hundreds of dvds! And it was fun to sit and watch the tide go in and out just outside of the property. One thing that I would suggest is to maybe include a welcome binder with checkout instructions as most other VRBOs include those for their renters to avoid check out confusion. We had an early morning on our check out date and wanted to be sure that we left the house as intended but there were no check out instructions in the app or anywhere in the property. I was able to reach out to the hosts to clarify the expectations but that would be a great way to remove any confusion for future guests as many VRBOs have quite an extensive check out list.

Great location - a balance of quiet getaway and close enough to visit Acadia & Bar Harbor. LOVED the included bikes so we could ride the carriage roads and the kayaks were fantastic - make sure you watch tide times if you don't have a leisurely schedule.

We greatly enjoyed our time at the cabin. It was just enough room for the six of us and plenty of space to be away from each other if we wanted. Our favorite spot was the enclosed patio. Cool breezes moving through the trees were great to just sit and listen to. We enjoyed being near the water and going down to the dock, playing on the rocks and searching for finds during low tide. My kids loved the bicycles that were ready to use. Internet was good too. We could sign into our streaming services and watch movies at night. Microwave, stove top, and small toaster all worked perfect while we were there. We did have a small carpenter ant issue but let the host know right away and they scheduled an exterminator. You are deep into the woods…so yes there are bugs. The surrounding towns are so cute and wayyy cheaper than bar harbor. Ice cream in birch harbor was way better priced. The small convenience stores were fun to stop in and see what they had. We mostly ate at the house but there is a small food truck, Bell Buoy, on the water in Corea by the docks that has a good priced lobster roll. It’s a long drive from Indiana but we had a great time and would do it again. Thanks for a sharing your home with us.

This place was fantastic! In the middle of the woods super private! The place was the cleanest I have stayed in and they had everything we needed for a wonderful stay!!It is highly recommended if you want to get off the grid yet still visit Acadia and Bar Harbor.Izak was great at giving us recommendations for all different types of activities and restaurants. We will definitely be booking again!

Beautiful area

This property was great for visiting the Schoodic Peninsula side of Acadia. The waterfront at the house was gorgeous and the interior was perfect for our family!

Very comfortable house and private location. Everything was as listed and we all had a great time. Theres a nice sand beach at end of grand marsh bay road... and a pebble beach at Sand Cove. I launched my inflatable boat from Sand Cove and caught some nice mackerel for dinner one day. Overall the house was great... many thanks

Quiet getaway

This cabin is a quiet and secluded spot in the woods. It’s small but nicely appointed and very clean. I loved waking up to the sounds of nature (loons on the marsh). Communication with the host was easy and prompt.

Great vacation

Stayed a week and had great time. Loved having bikes and kayaks. Cabin was beautiful and very relaxing. We spent a lot of time on screened in porch listening to red squirrels. The recommendations for area attractions were great as well, puffin watching was highlight!

Relaxing Maine Stay

We stayed over the weekend of the Fourth of July and were so thankful for the quiet and secluded rental. After visiting the extremely busy Bar Harbor, we loved coming back and kayaking on the Bay. The house was extremely clean and well cared for. The house was well stocked and provided our family including three teenagers a relaxing stay.

The home was located in a quiet location with a wooded drive. We had plenty of room to relax in the home that offered outdoor entertainment and indoor enrichment(books, games, activities). The kitchen was well stocked and found everything easily. We enjoyed the setting, bikes, kayaks and explored gouldsboro bay. The kids were enthralled by the moss which inspired them to sit outside and play-feeling right at home. The hosts had many suggestions on where to explore. We hope to visit the area again! It was a pleasure to stay in this home!

Great Family Getaway

This property was a great base camp from which to explore the Schoodic peninsula and down east Maine. We really enjoyed the tranquility of the area and especially the quieter pace in Corea, Prospect Harbor, Winter Harbor etc. We spent a lot of time kayaking and enjoyed the use of the screen porch. The hosts were very hospitable. We’d love to go back again !
