Prospective guests:
The farmhouse offers a 2300 Sf open floor plan will remind you of your Grandmother's house. 2026 capital improvements include interior, and kitchen cabinets painted, new living room furniture and Master Bedroom mattress. The house has 3 bedrooms (one has a bonus room with twin beds separated by curtain divider), 2 bathsn (one tub and one walk in shower) and a kitchen with updated appliances including a double convection oven. The front porch has views of Skitts Mountain and Long Mountain and has perimeter screened in glass windows that open out, rocking chairs, and a porch swing. Beautiful sunset vistas can be enjoyed insect free. The front yard has huge oak trees.
The central architectural feature of the house is a big rock fireplace with gas logs on the living room side and a functional cast iron wood heater/stove on the kitchen side. These both contribute to a warm, cozy stay in cooler weather. Central Heating and Air will ensure your stay is comfortable year round.
There is an outdoor fire pit in an old filled in hand dug well that is safe even in dry and windy conditions.. Seating includes a porch swing and four chairs.
The Farmhouse house is centrally located to many tourist destinations in Northeast GA. Several vineyards and wedding venues are only minutes away. Local activities include sightseeing, kayaking, bicycling, Hiking, Golf, and of course, tubing, dining and shopping in Helen, GA. Dahlonega, Clarkesville Tallulah Falls and Cleveland are also popular towns to visit and explore.
We can provide local information and possibly transportation to the venues or an Appalachian Trail drop off and pickup if needed. AT is ~17 miles.
We have ~2 miles of hiking trails through mature hardwoods, five creek drainages and a small pond down in the creek bottoms where kids are welcome to fish or swim. Access available upon request.

Military discounts available upon request for active duty/reserve/retired.
Our home is on the property and we are usually around if you need anything. We clean and manage the property ourselves to ensure things are done/made right ….
We were blessed with this cool home place and enjoy hosting guests and making new friends.

Clean, renovated farmhouse. It's reminiscent of staying at Grandma's house! It's not fancy, but very comfortable and homey. The host was extremely helpful and friendly. The property is quiet and peaceful. We were about 8 minutes from Truett McConnell college. Great stay!

We had to find a place on the fly and we picked the perfect home for us. the house is an old farmhouse on acreage and it is very quiet and serene. My mom enjoyed laying in bed looking out her window at the bird feeders, watching all the birds. The house is spacious yet cozy and has a nice indoor sitting porch in the front with rockers so you can look out the windows. There were cornfields where you could pick fresh corn if you would like. The owners were very kind and accommodative and understood our situation of having to have a rental while we went through a remodel a few miles away. We felt very safe and comfortable in this home. I hope to rent again for future occasions when we have multiple family members coming to visit that will not all fit in our home.

Beautiful house on a secluded, quiet property

We had a wonderful stay here. The House was quaint and spacious, and our host was wonderfully friendly. I would highly recommend if you’re ever staying in the Cleveland/Helen area!

Excellent hospitality!

There was plenty of room for our group and everything was completely comfortable. It was such a pleasure to be out in the countryside. Our hosts were friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again.

Farm house

I absolutely loved staying at the Farm House!! It’s very comfortable and super clean!! Laurie and Steve are great and available for anything that you need. I will definitely stay here again!!

Family Friendly Farmhouse

Highly recommend this rental. Our family, ranging from 17 to 80, was comfortable at this cozy farmhouse. Sitting around the fireplace or playing games at the dining room table, we were able to enjoy our family vacation. Location was perfect and quiet while being just a short drive to stores and attractions. Our hosts were helpful and a pleasure to schedule with.

Quaint and roomy home in a beautiful location near Helen and Cleveland

This owner is excellent at communicating- found us lots of side hikes and suggestions while we were up there. The home is not fancy, but has plenty of space and is a bargain for a moderately sized family group. If we need somewhere nearby in the future we definitely hope this is available.

Fantastic Farmhouse

We wanted to be close to Helen but not too close. The house is older but nice. Another reviewer commented that it reminded them of past times. My wife and I agree. It reminded us of days spent on our grandparents farms out west. We loved it. Plenty of room for our family. The Christmas decorations were nice too.

Was told to keep inside thermostat at 65 degrees.TV setup up with DISH Anywhere and firestick. Facilities were good. Location was good. Hot water was hot.Apliances were good. Centrally located to what we wanted to do & see.

Fabulous Guest Experience

Even before we arrived our host was already making sure we felt welcome and comfortable for our stay. The home truly had the atmosphere of a family visit instead of a generic vacation rental, and again much of that was due to our fabulous host who went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed so we could enjoy our weekend worry free. Everything in the home was clean and in good repair, and well outfitted. We would have had a great time on our own anyway, but our hosts’ attentiveness to detail really made our stay unforgettable. Will definitely stay again!

Fun rural property

We felt right at home in this farmhouse. The host made sure everything was okay, and went out of his way to help our young men from New Zealand have a good time. The ten days went by all too fast. My young grandchildren visited and enjoyed an evening bonfire in the fire pit. We enjoyed the trails through the woods which the host showed us with a ride in his Jeep. A memorable time!

The old Homestead

This was the home of my husband's parents who past away. We enjoyed many years visiting here. Steve has done some updating but still leaving the charm of the old farmhouse. We had a little family reunion (the siblings) and brought back a lot of great memories. It's a beautiful area and setting surrounded by the mountains. It's close to many restaurants and activities. Very close to downtown Helen. You won't be disappointed. Steve your host is very accommodating. I would highly recommend staying

Grandma’s House

We felt like we had stepped back in time and were staying at our grandmother’s house! If I could take that kitchen home with me, I would have! There is lots of space for everyone, the kitchen I well stocked, the beds are comfortable, and the host are fantastic! If we are ever in the area, we will definitely be back! Only suggestion is take more towels if you plan on tubing or any other water activities. You will need them. But over all, we absolutely loved our stay!

After Christmas Get Away

We had a wonderful stay at this property! Steve is an excellent host and was extremely easy to communicate and was available to help if needed. He invited us to explore the property on our own also! The house is older but very clean! Wifi and cell reception are not great but that is certainly not Steve's fault. There is also a TV with a firestick to watch Prime and Netflix. We are looking forward to staying here again

Large country farmhouse

The farmhouse is exactly that, an older homestead style farmhouse. Probably been in the family for years. There’s plenty of room here! We appreciated the small touches like coffee, and shampoo! Communication was excellent. There is no view. The yard could stand some clearing out/cleaning up….However, everything was very clean inside!

Sadly, our neighbors to the North have planted bamboo which destroyed our views of Yonah Mtn which is about 6 miles away. There is nothing I can do about it. While adding more privacy, the bay window that was designed to view Yonah now just looks out upon the yard. There are views of smaller mountains to the west and southwest across open fields., but you cannot see the Blueridge mountain range to the north from inside the house anymore As for the yard, We had a large limb break off an oak tree and I have not had time to clean that up, but I do keep the 4 acre lawn mowed and I weed eat around the fire pit and house where guests usually hang out. We bought the farmhouse seven or eight years ago because it adjoined us and fixed it up for a short term rental two years ago after our daughter moved out. Several guest have said it reminds them of their grandmother's house. We have never tried to advertise that this home is up in the mountains. They are a short drive away, but this is farm country with big fields and tracts of land that are undeveloped and not too steep to farm. I thought VRBO showed the location of it on a map of the area and folks could see that we are Southeast of Cleveland GA. The mountain cabins and most of the tourists are in the North end of White county. We are located in the less busy farming area where most of the vineyards are. We have ~135 acres for guests to enjoy who want to get away from the crowds.

Peace and tranquility

We were looking for a weekend holiday getaway not far from Helen and Cleveland, GA just to be tucked with family in a house / cabin that brings everyone together more. Swing and fire pit outside and place for our boys to play football. Was very lovely.

My wife and I live on the adjacent property and bought this house several years ago when it became available. My wife is a teacher and I am an engineer. I mostly work from home, so I will usually be available if needed. We have lived here since November of 1990.

Our daughter lived here after we bought it for a few years until she got married and moved away. We really didn't want full time renters, so we decided to go the short term rental route. We have been fixing it up for a couple of years now and are licensed to operate in White County. Several of our friends who own vineyards and wedding venues have expressed their interest in booking this for their guests. CeNita and Yonah Mountain vineyards are less than five miles away. Several Lumpkin County vineyards are about 15 miles away.

This is a quiet, peaceful historic home place. This house is located in the farming area of White County. We have a couple of miles of walking trails through mature hardwoods on the private property. There is a minimally challenging 5 mile road walking/ bicycling loop that takes you across a wooden bridge spanning Mossy Creek and through beautiful big pastures and corn fields with surrounding mountain vistas. We have several creeks and a small pond for kids to explore and play in on our adjoining property . Wildwood Outfitter's Chattahoochee River take out landing for kayaking and rafting is only 6 miles away. The nearby Chattahoochee National forest provides many recreational opportunities such as hiking the Appalachian and other trails, hunting on several WMA's and trout fishing. This house would be the perfect base camp for your outdoor adventures.
