Need some down time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life? If so, the Twin Maple Cottage is for you, surrounded by rolling farm land, and gorgeous mountain views. The home is totally renovated with all new furnishings including mattresses, appliances, hickory floors, custom cabinetry, ceramic tile and carpet. Enjoy quite time in the front porch swing watching beautiful sunsets or on the large back deck watching the sunrise over rolling hills. Located just 5 miles from the local town, but remote enough to feel like you are getting away! Just 25 miles from Blacksburg. Local attractions include Claytor Lake, The New River Trail, Randolph Park, Gatewood Park and the Pulaski Yankee minor league baseball team. Due to the rural location no WIFI or cable is currently available. TV gets 19 channels via antenna . We have cell phone reception through Verizon, and do not have a problem with service. However, reception with other providers could vary.

This comfortable cottage is clean, has a relaxing swing, and a pretty farm surrounding it! We enjoyed going to a VT football game while staying here. It was nice to rest, eat meals, and enjoy time with family! Thanks for sharing this special place with us and leaving the delicious muffins!

Second time staying here and again was not disappointed! Immaculately clean and so welcoming. Jill, the host, was again attentive and the muffins were delicious! Definitely recommend staying here!!!!!!

This property was wonderful. It seemed so remote I thought it was in the middle of nowhere. It turns out it’s 15 to 30 minutes from anything you need. Major shopping, dozens of restaurants, etc. I actually told Jill, the host, she isn’t charging enough. If you would like to get away from it all while, still having it all within reach, you owe it to yourself to check out this place.

the owner needs to be taken off this app, he came into the house while we were staying a beat on all the doors, we had one more day but he chased us out with a baseball bat

Guest booked the house for 2 people. He threw a party. The police showed up for a noise violation, reported by the neighbor. When the police arrived there were 50 cars there. Guest advised that the house was his mothers. The policy reached out to the ‘mother’ and she said she owned the house and was aware he was having a graduation party prior to leaving for college. Obviously the house was not his 'mothers'. He was asked to vacate the premises.

Perfect relaxing vacation

The home was perfect and so lovely. We felt right at home and enjoyed the front porch and back deck with beautiful views. Jill was a great host with quick responses to any questions we had.

An amazing place away from home!!

Amazing Place!!!

Me and family enjoyed every minute we stayed there!! We stayed for 13 nights and it was a very wonderful getaway!! Mrs. Jill is absolutely amazing! And the orange cranberry muffins she had waiting on us were delicious!! I would definitely recommend anyone to stay and enjoy this beautiful property!!!

Great Place

What a great place. The cottage was very modern and clean. Enjoyed watching and listening to the cows plus we had a nice visit from the friendly neighborhood dog.

A great place for some downtime! Quiet countryside!

It was a quiet place that was serene. The countryside was beautiful. The house was well maintained and clean. Would highly recommend!

Jill and Rodney both graduated from Emory and Henry College. Jill grew up locally while Rodney is from Chesterfield County. We have two children that are recent college graduates. One from Va Tech and the other from James Madison. We both work locally in Radford. Rodney has his own woodworking business that he did full time until 2012. He still does custom cabinetry in his spare time. We purchased this house in 2011 which is across the street from the 5 acre parcel of land which contains my custom cabinet shop. The house was getting in disrepair and we decided to purchase the house to give it new life. We were just going to do a simple remodel but one thing turned into another and we gutted the house inside and out. Family and friends have been involved with this project in one way or another. This has been done in my spare time but has finally been completed in 2019. It has been quite the experience.
