Experience the best of oceanfront resort living in this 2-bedroom condo with a loft, comfortably accommodating 6 guests. Located on the top floor, this unit offers breathtaking, unobstructed views of the ocean, whales, and stunning sunsets from the living room and lanai. Enjoy the convenience of being just a stone's throw away from the seawall and ocean.

The condo features 2 bedrooms plus a loft as the third bedroom, and 2 full baths. A split unit air-conditioner is situated in the living room. The kitchen is fully equipped with all major and minor appliances, and the living room boasts a queen pull-out sofa bed, recliners, a dining room table, and a 52" wall-mounted TV with a Blu-ray player. The spacious lanai, furnished with bar-height seating for 5, extends your living area outdoors.

The master bedroom offers a king-sized bed and an en-suite bathroom, while the second bedroom has a queen bed and is next to the main bathroom. The loft provides additional sleeping space with 1 single bed and 1 queen bed.

Location, location, location.

Best place for whale watching. Place was clean and comfortable. Sad we had to leave.

Misleading

The grounds and view are outstanding! Our condo not so much ! If you are a clean freak don’t stay! Some small upgrades would be wonderful! Tear out carpet , new beds and linen! The cockroaches and bugs where disgusting, I understand where we where at would have a few , but this was a lot, luckily someone left spray!

60th birthday celebration

Beautiful resort. The view from the balcony was the highlight of the condo. Had our coffee every morning watching the whales in the distance. Sunsets we saw a rainbow everyday and watched the turtles swim by. Location was perfect. Walking distance to food trucks and ABC store/ deli mini market. Supermarket is a block down the street . The resort is beautifully maintained, pool is nice and there are lounge chairs along the edge of beach. Pickleball courts , shuffle board, toss game and other games to play while out enjoying the premises. Cooked most of our meals, bbq on premises. Kitchen has pretty much everything you need to cook. We bought kpods for coffee only to find out when we arrived the coffee machine uses ground coffee. . Which gave us the opportunity to try Hawaiian ground coffee. Super good coffee but very expensive. Need to bring cleaning supplies to clean kitchen. There are roaches in kitchen and condo, but it’s a humid environment and to be expected. They were at a minimum and owners do try to control. Temps were in 74-78 degree range and we never turned on the air. Nice air flow with windows and slider open. I gave 4 star only because the condo does need upgrade. Carpets need to be replaced , one bathroom shower has mold and furniture needs upgrade. There were plenty of beach towels avail. Had a washer/dryer (didnt use) have to buy your own laundry soap. Beds were very comfortable. Our stay was very enjoyable and we would return again.

Our Stay

This condo is in a wonderful resort. Well cared for property, clean pool, and great location to explore the area from. Small issues like cleanliness have been addressed in other posts but our major concern was with property management. Absolutely 0 communication from the Host; no check-in/check-out instructions, nothing. Worse, upon leaving, we accidentally left hundreds of dollars of coats in the closet and were unable to reach ANYONE responsible for weeks. The resort staff is unable to help so we involved the Property Management company, Hawaii Life, to follow up and they could not reach the host either. After finally responding, they said our property is "gone" with no further explanation. Shame.

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This condo is NOT BRAND NEW! Very dated with worn out furniture and stained carpets throughout . Every vent from bathrooms to windows were caked with dust/dirt/grime. When first entering it seemed fine. Once opening things up the lack of upkeep was very evident. I've taken pictures of all this but don't know where I can send them.

Disappointed

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This property had a horrible infestation of sugar ants. Multiple black ants traps were left on the kitchen counter making the kitchen unsafe for food due to the chemicals. Cockroaches were also present. We have stayed at Papakea for the past 15 years and have never encountered bugs in the units we have rented. Carpets in the bedrooms need to be replaced or cleaned...they were stained and filthy. The only thing good about this condo was the view, it was amazing!

Beautiful ocean view

The place worked out well, and was clean. We loved the balcony that looked out towards the ocean. Harry, was helpful when we had questions.

Great View But Unit Needs Some Work

Oceanfront view was spectacular. Watched whales morning and night from our lanai. Beautiful. Great location - close to food truck park where we could support the local Maui vendors. Unit does need some upgrading in areas of carpet, trim falling from wall, screen door doesn't close/latch, trim peeling away from drawers/cabinets and missing wall panel in bedroom laying against mirror on floor.

Upon arrival though, we were told the place was clean, but the kitchen floors were dirty and some of the walls were too. Otherwise, we enjoyed our time there.

Not as described.

I absolutely hate leaving a bad review but I have to be honest for future travellers. This is NOT a brand new condo. Nothing about it is new. Not even the carpets in the bedrooms as mentioned in the description. The carpets were horribly dirty. We wanted to vacuum them, but the vacuum stored in the closet was broken. Vacuuming wouldn’t even have helped much. They need to be washed or torn out and replaced. The sheets in the master bedroom were torn and stained. In the kitchen the dishwasher had a broken trim. It has been previously taped but that did not hold. The blender lid was broken and not in good shape. The fans had so much dust on them. The light switches and door frames were dirty from previous people touching them. The furniture in the living room is not new. The desc. Indicates two recliners but there is only one and the handle is missing to recline. The lanai furniture is not new either. But it was fine to use. The view was beautiful but the cost we paid for a dirty place was not worth it. We didn’t want to put anything on the floor. I did talk to the owner and he offered the cleaner to come but too much had to be done to make it right and it seemed pointless at that point. The cleaning fee is way too high for what they do. It appears that no money is being put back into the place. Location is nice, resort is nice, but this place needs some upkeeping and a deep clean. This is the first time I’ve had to leave a bad review. This place does have a lot of potential.

Beautiful Resort

The resort was even better than the photos online. We had a balcony room right above the beach where my family swam daily. The property was well kept up and there was so much to do. We would stay there again.

Amazing view

The balcony overlooks the ocean and beach. Not the greatest swimming beach, but we saw turtles in the water. Loved leaving the balcony doors open and listening to the ocean all night! Would definitely stay again.

Room upkeep

Property was perfect for oceanfront vacations. The room we stayed in was not. There were a few items that needed attention: - AC unit left puddles in the balcony when on - found empty small tequila bottles - extra bedsheets and pillows were stained and not cleaned properly - hair dryer malfunctioned and almost caught fire - storage unit in master bedroom was missing door and had wires and ladders exposed.

When we finally checked into our room it was not cleaned. My daughter found toenails in the carpet in her room, there were dirty dishes in the cabinet, there was laminate coming off the cabinet, trim on the dish washer taped in place. Day 3 lost power, went to the other side of the island to get a hot meal and the roads back were closed for 3 days. We slept in our rental car (5) adults. Got back to our room cleaned out all the spoiled rotten food from the fridge, packed our bags and left a day early! Thank god for friends of friends that opened their home in Kihei for our last 2 days on the island. I am very sympathetic to the plight of the people of Maui, the communication from the authorities was nonexistent!

2023 Family vacation

The property was in a wonderful location and the view was exceptional from our unit. The carpet in the bedrooms was extremely dirty and needs replaced. The bathroom stool in the master worked only part time. The air conditioner leaked onto the lanai and puddled the entire time so it was hard not to track it in. We loved the resort area and the pool area was great.

What a View!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo is very nice and updated which can accommodate 8 people. The view from the balcony is incredible looking straight out to the ocean looking at the islands of Molakai and Lanai. Sunsets are great right from the balcony. You can go out in the ocean in front of the rock wall during low tide and there is a sandy beach on either side of the resort. There is one AC in the living room so fans are used to help circulate the air. Keep the balcony shades closed to help keep the sun out to keep the condo cooler. I would definitely recommend this condo.
