The "Hummingbird House" has 4-bedrooms, 3-bathrooms with a large open fully stocked kitchen, dining room, living area, a large sunroom that makes a wonderful spot for morning coffee during those chilly coastal mornings located on 3 acres. There is a large 60 ft ocean view deck with seating and a fire-pit to enjoy those beautiful coastal days and evenings, and you may watch the deer that peacefully graze in the pasture. This is a wonderful home for family and friends.
This home is just a quick one mile from MacKerricher State Park and Beach, where you can enjoy a wonderful long sandy beach, maintained walking trails, plenty of tide pools to explore and are able to observe marine life like Sea Lions and Whale in their natural habitat. The park includes a "haul" road that is wonderful to walk, jog or bike ride (no cars on this haul road!) an easy 3 miles into the town of Fort Bragg. Only 1/2 mile from the home is a small local market with basic amenities, a wonderful Mexican restaurant with bar and the local horse stables which provide beautiful walks to the beach. Always wondered about the Skunk Train? It is an easy 10 minute drive into the town of Fort Bragg, or that easy bike ride on the haul road, to the Fort Bragg Skunk Train Station where you can purchase tickets to ride through the beautiful redwoods. And the beautiful quaint town of Mendocino is an easy 13 mile drive
The Hummingbird House is a spacious single story home which has two bedrooms each with a full size bed, a large bedroom with a king size bed and a spacious room with a queen size bed. There are 3 full bathrooms which include showers only, no bathtubs. Available at the home is a portable crib for a little one and 2 booster chairs so the little ones may easily join the family for meals. All bedrooms have a Smart TV, and there is a piano in the living room to enjoy those musical adventures. There are many windows in this home where may enjoy the deer or the distant ocean views.
For those equine families, ask about the pasture space available (bringing your own portable fencing)

Nothing short of amazing!

This place is absolutely gorgeous. From The trinkets all around the house to the location and amazing views, it was such a great place to stay at. The communication was amazing and they were such great host! Such an accommodating place! Thank you for opening your place up to us and making us feel like we didn’t want to leave!

A dream

This place had it all, coffee and snacks included. The layout was perfect so that everyone was no concentrated in one area and the bathroom to bedroom ratio was perfect. The table was long for games and the living room was cozy for spending time together. Not to mention how beautiful the rain sounded on the sunroom roof! We can’t wait to come back with our partners.

Sweet Stay

Trip to see the Red Woods

This place was amazing! Very comfortable for our group of 5. Great location, and the hosts were amazing. They are excellent communicators. They made us feel welcome. Back deck was wonderful for watching the sunset, star gazing, and drinking morning coffee.

Wonderful views & hosts & home!

This spacious home is in an ideal location—all of our favorite things we did during our time in Ft. Bragg/Mendocino were within minutes—walking or biking distance—of the home. We loved the sunset ocean views, state park with stunning bike trail across the road, and horseback riding on the beach with Ricochet Ridge Ranch at the end of the lane. Erika went above and beyond to make our stay a great one & make sure we had all we needed. We hope to return. Thank you!

Phenomenal Property!

I never write reviews but I HAD TO on this one. I traveled to this home as a family with our adult children - six people in our party all together and this home was so accommodating we hardly wanted to leave for our planned excursions. The surroundings, adorable features within, foxes and deer running around outside and all of the cute decorations, board games, hand written notes with thorough instructions - made us feel very well taken care of. Even if this house seems a bit big for a smaller party - JUST CHOOSE IT and I guarantee you walk inside and say "thank you random lady with the positive review" while patting yourself on the back for making an excellent choice.

AMAZING PLACE!

My two sisters and I stayed here during a bucket list trip to Ft. Bragg to visit Sea Glass Beach. It did not disappoint! The house is SO spacious! Each of us had our own bedroom AND bathroom! The kitchen is huge and there wasn't ONE thing we needed that wasn't there. Erika was so kind and wonderful to communicate with when we had questions...she was incredibly helpful and accommodating. The house is decorated SO cute...lots of antiques and trinkets to see. Oh, and the hummingbirds! How fun it was to see different kinds of hummingbirds! Easy, easy access to and from town...we made several trips back and forth each day. Everything was very clean; I would definitely stay here again if I'm ever back in this area!!

Family gathering

It was a great house to have 2 of my children and 3 grandchildren spend time together before a move to Arizona. House was well equipped with everything that was above expected. Plenty of towels, extra key etc. Close to many beaches and town. I have never had a host leave a welcome gift for us. Nice to see some wildlife around the property.

Beautiful coastal getaway!

Everything about this property was amazing! The amenities that Erika and her husband provide make you feel right at home and all needs met! Child friendly with lots to help entertain. Erika was very responsive and helpful. I even thought that I had "lost" my diamond earrings, let Erika know and she took time to look carefully for me (earrings were found in my things, just not "normally" where they are kept). We would definitely stay at this home again, thank you for a great but too short of a stay!

Perfect in every way!

This was the second year we stayed at The Hummingbird House, we loved it so much the first time! Once again, it was a perfect setup for our family vacation and afforded us all the room we needed in a charming environment and beautiful location. Successful Skunk Train Weekend

The home was roomy enough for our 8 adults. There were clear notes left at various places that came in quite handy. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. If only we could have stayed longer. The communication was OUTSTANDING.

Surprise night away

Surprised my husband and son with a trip up to Fort Bragg to do the skunk train and exploring the area came back to the rental had steaks on the grill s’mores birthday cake and just enjoyed each other. It was a beautiful location. Just wish we had more time there the wildlife was beautiful. There were 2 does hanging around the property frequently!

Unexpected treasure

Incredible host, Erka went out of her way to accommodate us. And the home is beautiful, with a view of ocean. And Erka has more things for guests ( including a charcuterie tray in fridge) in addition to informational signs everywhere. Definitely would like to return for longer stay.

Perfect for family vacation!

I cannot say enough good things about this property! We were so pleased with the location and layout of this home, which provided absolutely everything we could hope for and did not disappoint. There was plenty of room for meals, games, and nightly fires together, while accommodating individual personal time as well. The hosts are amazing and provided so many personal touches, which made us feel so welcome. We cannot imagine ever needing to look at another place for future visits and hope to make this spot a part of many more family times together!

Inside Vs. Outside

When arriving the outside was so unkempt I wondered if we should even stay. Then going inside, the house was so large, so well stocked and clean I decided to stay. I don't know why the outside is not swept, weeds pulled, etc. The place has beautiful decks but there are dead potted plants all across the deck railing and other places around the house. If they are not going to be kept up -- why have them? Pots with dead plants and weeds significantly deter from the natural beauty of the area. The deck would be fine with out them. The exterior of the house really needs attention.

Another amazing stay

We had a wonderful stay here for the second time. Check in and out was easy. The house is comfy and very roomy. We love the big open kitchen. It’s a very short drive to the ocean and store. We cant wait to go back!

The home is located only 1 mile from MacKerricher State Park with a beautiful beach and walking trails!
