Perfect Mountain Hideaway, conviently nestled in the center of it all.

This is a cozy 1 bedroom / 1 bathroom Chalet style split Condo in Banner Elk, NC across from Sugar Mountain Ski/Golf Resort in Avery County. The 592 sq ft Chalet sleeps 4 comfortably. (with the use of a Serta queen sofa bed on the main floor) It is located near the Alpine Slide, Grandfather Mt, hiking, restaurants, live music, golf, mt biking, fishing, rafting, grocery stores, town park, horse back riding, skating, breweries, wineries. ski slopes, sledding, zipline and tubing. Take an easy day trip to Asheville, Bristol or Yadkin Valley.
It offers a split floor plan for privacy, full kitchen with newer appliances, spacious balcony to enjoy a morning coffee or tasty beverage, & a wood burning fireplace to cuddle up to. Kitchen has a unique custom built counter to dine on. It offers an incredible location with easy access and parking, off Tyncastle Hwy across from Sugar Mountain. Extremely comfortable new au natural, memory foam Queen bed. And a queen sz Serta sofa bed!

Great Short Stay

We only stayed one night, but enjoyed it none the less. Heidi is the most communicative host that I have worked with. She offered suggestions on places to eat and local spots to enjoy. Made our first visit to Banner Elk very enjoyable.

The perfect mountain place!

I can't say enough how perfect this place was - especially the wood burning fire place! So many little touches around the house that make it like home and yet a bit like a mountain resort. Definitely worth another trip!

Great location!

Owner has thought of everything. Unit is clean and has everything we needed for a 4 night stay. We were close to sugar mountain and downtown Banner Elk. We enjoyed riding the Alpine Slide and ATV tours.

Great weekend at Sugar Mountain / Banner Elk!

My fiancee and I came up to Banner Elk for the holiday weekend and really enjoyed our stay. Heidi was incredibly communicative and helpful in the check-in process, recommendations in the areas, and communicating upon check-out. The location is the best part and is a very close drive to Banner Elk restaurants, golf, hiking, etc. Thanks for the great weekend!

Perfect winter weekend chalet!

We brought our young children to the mountains to ski and snowboard for their first time and this chalet was perfect for our stay! So close to Sugar Mtn and convenient to grocery stores and excellent restaurants. Heidi was responsive and offered such good recommendations to local food and activities! She was a pleasure to work with!! Would definitely recommend this chalet to anyone looking for a cozy mountain stay!

Cozy Chalet with beautiful views

My husband and I absolutely adored Heidi’s Chalet! It had everything you could need, from the fireplace, to the kitchen, WiFi, and heaters, it was a perfect getaway for us. Heidi was so accommodating and even moved around her schedule so that we could stay a little longer. I would recommend to anyone! If you are looking for a peaceful place to relax and enjoy the mountains, this is it.

Love this stay woth my family

The location was perfect for sugar mountain activities we got to see snow. Everything is was clean and comfy. Theres a small river canal in front of the cabine so beautiful everything was so peaceful. We came from Orlando fl driving to this and no regrets we loved are stay and vacation. Thank you Heidi for all the information on nearest rest and places to visit. Will recommend friends n family.

Happy son for 17 Th bday

We had a great experience at Heidi’s place. My son turned 17 want to go snow skiing so we booked Heidi’s place and it was great hospitality easy chicken close to everything very clean very Homie. Heidi was awesome. She went over and beyond for our family and make sure we had a great day. Definitely will be booking with her again.

Perfect Location

Thank you so much Heidi. This awesome property provided everything I was searching for. A quiet, laid back area that is extremely dog-friendly and full of adventure. Staying here was such a positive and unforgettable experience. If I had to point anything out, I would suggest to put fresh strings on the guitar :)). But besides that, everything exceeded expectations!

Cozy, comfortable, and convenient

Excellent communication from Heidi and a lot of helpful information about places to eat and activities to do, rain or shine. The queen bed was super comfortable. Even the futon was comfortable for my kids to sleep on. There was no TV, but wifi was good and kids watched movies and shows on the computer and iPad we brought. The location is great too. Right across the street from Sugar mtn, and a view of the slopes from the balcony. A great place for a great price! Thank you Heidi!

Weekend away in the mountains

We came to the property for some hiking and being in the Boone/Blowing Rock/Sugar Mountain area. The location of the house was in an area we were looking for, easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway and hiking trails. Communication was super easy with the owner, she was very attentive and responded quickly to all questions we had prior to the visit as well as during. The parking was a bit small as there were multiple families near us with multiple cars. The house was super clean and had most of the things necessary for cooking meals.

Tropical Storm Fred Did Us In!

Rain followed us to Banner Elk from Florida and never stopped. Power outages, tornado warnings, flood warnings, closed restaurants & fallen trees added to the fun.?This is NOT a reflection of the property. It was lovely and perfectly located. We’ve been to Banner Elk before, and would rent here again. The owner is a delightful person and gave many tips on things to do. But we couldn’t do them in the rain.

2-night stay

My husband and I were in the area on a college search for our 17 year old. We didn’t have a lot of time so Heidi’s attentiveness and suggestions for activities and dinners were very much appreciated and helpful! It’s a cozy one bedroom and the futon downstairs was perfect for our daughter- she loved having the wood burning fireplace.. We did not bring a pet but you can tell Heidi welcomes them with open arms- there is even dog organic shampoo available :) Depending on college choices we may be back! Thank you for sharing your sweet home with us!

Loved every detail of the cabin.

Traveled with my husband, 2 teenagers, and our dog. The cabin was perfect for us. It is small but has everything that you need (full kitchen, sheets, towels, blankets). Everything was super clean. The heating works very well (this is very important for me since I don't like cold). The location is excellent, very close to Sugar Mountain Resort, where we went skiing, and the Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster, a unique experience that I recommend for the whole family. The communication with Heidi was excellent, she responded quickly and was willing to answer any question at any time, she also gave us good recommendations for the area. There is a grocery store very close. We will definitely be back.

Fantastic get away!

Hubby and I wanted a get away to enjoy the NC mountains with our 2 pups. Heidi’s place was the perfect spot!! The pups loved the balcony and we all enjoyed days on the trails and visiting nearby waterfalls and hiking trails. The Alpine coaster was very fun!! Heidi always responded to questions promptly. She gave us great info for places to go that were pet friendly. The town of Banner Elk is very close and great! Bed was comfortable, kitchen great to cook a meal. We would definitely book here again!! Even after checking out, Heidi contacted us that we left some of our dogs supplements and meda behind and she graciously agreed to mail them back to us. Even though we haven’t met, it feels like we know Heidi and she is a wonderful hostess!!! 😃

We live in Wake Forest, NC but moved from Colorado 15 years ago. We are passionate about the Mountains. We enjoy the numerous outdoor activities all year round, in and around Banner Elk. The location is ideal and is easily accessible. Our goal is to share the LOVE with ya'll, and make certain that fur-babies never have to be left behind.

The Chalet is not large or extravagant but boy is it perfectly cozy! We hope you will appreciate the energy of our "loving little nest" many times over.

Added touches from friends and locals generate a loving energy. I have wanted an A frame, a deck near a stream and a wood burning fireplace, since I was a very little girl in MN. The Chalet fulfills my dream. We also like the easy access and location to EVERYTHING! 25 minutes to Blowing Rock, 25 minutes to Boone, an hour 1/2 to Asheville an @ 1 hr to Yadkin Valley Wine Country. We are on a flat road- no hills. Everyone deserves to enjoy the splendor of The Blue Ridge Mountains! Visit us today, and feel the Love.

Banner Elk is our favorite mountain town. We feel like locals. Throughout the day we explore the several surrounding towns and cities, and end the day we nestle in at Heidi's Mountain Hideaway. Our location is superb. The Chalet is the perfect intimate size for couples or small families. It sincerely rejuvenates us; and, we enjoy breathing in the mountain air and "Forest Cleansing". As well, restaurants are tasty in the Village; and, there is plenty of live music. To top it off, access and parking is easy.
