Perfect beach getaway

Just a great spot if you want to experience Hanalei and pretend you’re a local. The beautiful Hanalei beach is less than a two minute walk, which is incredibly practical, for early morning walks before coffee or just popping out to see the sunset. The studio is also just walking distance to the town’s shops and restaurants- and safe to walk back after a Mai Tai at night! The place is very quiet and the host who lives above is helpful yet very respectful of the guests’ privacy.

Location, Location, Location

Wow! this place really was magical. If you want to feel like you’re staying in the tropics, this is it. Just steps from the beach on beautiful Hanalei Bay and about a 1/4-mile walk to the town of Hanalei, the location is hard to beat. The large studio feels like a private treehouse, even though it’s connected to the owner’s home. We loved the open-air vibe, the outdoor shower, and the incredible view of the lush mountains and waterfalls, right from the bed. We usually like to try new spots when we travel, but we’re already talking about coming back here on our next trip to Kauai’s north shore.

Great place, amazing location

Clean, spacious, with a useful kitchen. Loved all the screened windows to get a cross-breeze and listen to the rain. Amazing location: easy to walk to the beach or to town.

So close to everything

This space was exactly what we wanted .: a very large room that combined bedroom, living area, dining area and kitchen. The location was perfect: a minutes walk to the beach and a 5 mini walk to the restaurant area . We were very happy.

Great location

Very large spacious studio. Great location within walking distance to all of Hanalei with a very nice mountain view. Great timely communication with manager. Only downside was noisy neighbors at times - thankfully not super late at night.

We had a wonderful time. The property was beautiful, inviting, and so close to the beach. Devaki was such a pleasure to talk to. She was very welcoming and made us feel right at home. We will be back!

This spacious well appointed studios with a fantastic view of the mountains is a bit of paradise. Location, location, location. A very short walk with Devaki’s beach chairs to one of the world’s most beautiful beaches and a few blocks into Hanalei town. One of our favorite places on the planet. Nice place to stay close to bay and restaurants.

This is a spacious unit on the first floor of a 2 story house. The kitchen is well equipped with everything we needed. It is a short walk to both numerous restaurants and the Hanalei Bay's beach. The only issue is that without AC, one has to open all of the windows for air flow and cooling. With the windows open, noisy neighbors were heard into the night. There are also the ubiquitous chickens that crow at all hours.

Fabulous location for Hannalei

Arrived and was welcomed by Devaki, owner who lives above the vrbo level of the property. Open space flat w plenty of light, quiet w super nice view of green hills to north of town.Devaki was most helpful, location perfect for proximity to beach, town. Rained a bunch, so outdoor sitting wasn't a thing. Limahui Botannical gardens were beautiful w plenty of beaches on the way there to explore. Restaurant Ama and the Dolphin great, make rez days in advance.

Inaccurate listing, but still great

My wife and I were excited to stay in a private honeymoon cottage. The listing states “this is NOT a condo”. Well, the landlord lives above you and there are multiple units on the property. We still enjoyed our time in Hanalei. The location is great for beach and town. The unit is charming and unique with great views of the mountains. The bugs inside were overwhelming at times and should be mitigated.

Celebrated out 40th wedding anniversary!

This was our first trip to Hawaii and were referred to this property by our daughter and son-in law. They have stayed here numerous times and told us it would a great place to celebrate our anniversary. It did not disappoint us. The property is secluded yet located within walking distance between beautiful Hanalei Bay(where we watched beautiful sunsets every evening)and the quaint town of Hanalie which has numerous restaurants, shops and night life.. The property is very clean and welcoming. It is well equipped with everything from a full kitchen, Hawaiian music, beach chairs and towels and a beautiful view of the mountains. Devaki, the owner, is just a phone call away if you have any questions or need a suggestion while visiting this beautiful island of Kauai. Yes we plan on returning!!!

Perfection

This is the second time we've stayed in Devaki's Honeymoon Cottage, less than a block from Hanalei Bay and a five minute walk to town. My wife and I had several days in a row where we never got in the car, walking from the beach to a nap at the cottage, back to the beach for a late afternoon swim, and then into town for dinner. The cottage has everything you need and Devaki is right nearby in the main house if anything goes wrong. The cross breezes and ceiling fans keep the heat at bay and the porch is our favorite private place to have breakfast and lunch. It's a very real possibility that the outdoor shower changed my wife's life -- she was ecstatic washing away the sand with the tropical breezes blowing around her. We can't wait to come back!

Perfect Location and great host!

My wife and I spent our 10th anniversary in Hanalei, which is where we got married. The location of this rental is fabulous, a minute from the beach and five minutes to town. Devaki was very attentive and eager to fix any problem there might have been. But, there were none! She has everything very organized and thought out. I can't really think of anything I'd improve other than the internet speed, although that's not really the first thing you need when you go to Kauai! Streaming shows really wasn't really possible but with the right planning we'd download a movie all day so we could watch it after one of our numerous eight hour hikes. Two thumbs up for this place, we would stay again for sure. Thanks Devaki!

Relaxing, spacious, 1 block from everything in Hanalei

Clean, bright, airy, spacious home. 1 block from Hanalei Beach- the best beach in the area. Park your car and walk to the beach, or into town to shop, or eat at one of the numerous restaurants. Beautiful mountain views in one direction and ocean views in the other. Ceiling fans throughout, large kitchen, great wifi, walk-in shower, large BR counter space, hairdryer, stacked washer/dryer, outdoor shower to rinse after the beach. beach chairs, beach towels. even bug spray and Hawaiian music in the CD player! We were worried about no AC as it was unseasonably hot for March but the nights cooled off a few degrees more than the rest of the island/and other islands, and there’s a constant nice breeze. My husband is always hot and we were comfortable with the fans. If I had to do it over again I would have stayed our entire Kauai stay here rather than spending 1/2 the time north and 1/2 in Poipu. The island’s small enough to easily drive to the canyon from the north (2 hrs end to end) and the landscape and beaches I found to be more awe-inspiring in the North. I sailed into Hanalei on a Full Moon night in 1976. It was the most beautiful place I had ever seen by moonlight & when I awakened the next morning to see the long stretch of white sand, the crescent shaped Bay, the Emerald Green Mountains I knew I had found the place I wanted to live for the rest of my life. I spent the next 4 summers there before I left my dear friends & home in Pt. Dume, Malibu in 1980. I was sad to leave my Yoga Students, family, & friends, but now I have my Kauai Yoga Students, family, friends. Kauai welcomed me with it's warm Aloha & a wonderfully rewarding job. I started teaching Tai Chi, Yoga, & Massage at Kauai Community College so that I was able to do what I love & feel able to serve the community, meeting people from all over the island from all walks of life.
I love Hanalei Sunsets so I walk, run, swim, surf, or Boogie Board every evening at Sunset. It is a 1 minute walk to Hanalei Bay & Beach, my favorite beach in the world.
I have always loved being in the Ocean, but California was too cold for me so I spent time in other Tropical Paradises that were great for a vacation, but not places I could call home. This is the most beautiful place I've ever been & I would love to share it with you.

I love the Beach & being in the warm ocean and I don't love driving. I can walk to the beach in 1 minute or to Hanalei Village in 6-10 minutes. Everything I need or want is in Hanalei & I hear the same thing from my guests.
Many of my guests want to explore & see everything in Kauai so they are out all day & then come home to relax & sleep. After several days of exploring they realize that Hanalei is the most beautiful part of Kauai & has the best beach & most beautiful sunsets. Then they rarely use their car & I see them at the Beach, in the water, or walking around Hanalei Town with very big happy smiles.

The house is set back from the street so extra quiet & private. The mountain & waterfall or rainbow views from the bed or living room couch are amazing! This is a place to relax & enjoy the healthy Hanalei lifestyle. There is a Hanalei Farmer's Market twice a week where you can get great local produce. There are Fruit, Juice, & smoothie Bars, Harvest Health Food Store, all within a 10 minute walk from your Vacation Rental. Devaki is available for Hawaiian LomiLomi, Deep Tissue, & other forms of Massage. Devaki also teaches Massage if you want to learn. Devaki teaches Private Yoga Lessons for one person, couples, or small groups & Yoga Teacher Training. Devaki was a longtime student of Indra Devi, the First Lady of Yoga as well as Swami Vishnudevananda & completed Yoga Teacher Trainings with both.
