Welcome to Hale Kokio, a well loved getaway, designed for two. This is the place to stay on North Shore Kauai for relaxation, privacy and island living. Enjoy a quiet setting and a convenient location. The newly updated cottage is designed with your comfort in mind. A stay at Hale Kokio is perfect for a Kauai honeymoon, celebration of a special occasion or a well deserved vacation.

The open floor design of the cottage shows 360 views of the tropical gardens. The living area, pretty bedroom, well appointed kitchen, full bath and loft wait for you. Gentle breezes flow through the cottage, sliding doors open to the covered lanai and new loft. The lanai is furnished with a hot tub, deck chairs and dining set. An outdoor shower is an extra feature for your convenience. The property is tucked away on two acres that are yours to explore. This combination of features at Hale Kokio are found in few Kauai Cottage Rentals on the North Shore.

Enjoy Island outdoor living on the property. Chaise lounges are placed on the side of the house where you can see the sunset or gaze at the night sky. Explore the gardens where you will find a wide variety of flowering plants and tropical fruit trees.. Mature palms and varieties of hibiscus border the property. You will find coconuts, bananas and in season grapefruit. .

Hale Kokio is on a quiet road in Kilauea Farms. The neighbors are friendly and welcoming. The charming town of Kilauea is a five minute drive with all of the conveniences, eateries, shops and even a gas station. The older historic stone buildings compliment the wide selections of the new from coffee shops to restaurants and gift shops. You will also find hair salons, bakeries, and yoga.





We are known for taking special care of our guests, many return. Once on Kauai your island contact is Rob, 914 523 8920. To preserve the sense the privacy and community a private driveway take you to the cottage, parking on the street is not allowed. Elevated noise activities or amplified music are not allowed after 10 PM as a courtesy of our neighborhood. Parties are not allowed.

My husband and I had a great time staying here. We enjoyed how private it was. We loved sitting outside and watching the chickens roam around. Great location! The only feedback I have is the cleaning could have used a little bit more attention, but overall it was a great place to stay!

We loved Hale Kokio! It is tucked away in a quiet, beautiful neighborhood. We enjoyed breakfasts on the private back porch and our host was SO hospitable and easy to communicate with. He even brought us fresh coffee to welcome us on our first day. We had the loveliest time in Kauai and remember this cottage fondly :) If you are considering booking this VRBO... do it! One thing to note is that there are quite a few chickens around-- if you are not an early riser, you might be surprised by nature's alarm clock!

My husband and I had a wonderful few days at Hale Kokio and only wish we could have stayed longer! We loved gathering fresh fruit from the trees on property, using the hot tub at the end of the day, and sitting on the lanai drinking coffee in the morning. The location is excellent for all activities on the North Shore. We will be back!

This was the perfect location and perfect cottage for our wedding trip! The grounds were beautiful, the location was in between a ton of beaches and close to the town of Kilauea. We absolutely loves the time we spent there.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hale Kokio. Even though we hit a rainy spell, we really enjoyed relaxing on the patio deck and listening to the rain. My wife and I both loved the hot tub and used it frequently. We also loved the gas grill on the patio and grilled steaks frequently. The ribeyes from the Kilauea Market were really good! Overall, we had a fabulous stay, loved the quiet, laid-back area around Kilauea, and really enjoyed just relaxing in the cottage. It is nicely equipped and very comfortable (including the bed). Rob was a great host, lived near by, and was very quick to respond to any questions or needs we had.

The property and location are lovely but the house is quite run down, especially compared to the posted photos, and not clean. We booked for 10 days and left after 7.

In the twenty years we've been visiting Kauai, this was by far the most relaxing vacation we've ever experienced on the island. What stood out most:Total privacy The outdoor shower and hot tub was a nice treat after long hikesThe house is clean and well equipped (we enjoyed the rice cooker)The location is perfect. Close to several beaches including rock quarry beachWe thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The host was responsive and super helpful! We will be returning.

Great cottage on lovely grounds

Hale Kokio was a wonderful vacation rental, with plentiful amenities, a fantastic garden-like setting, and wonderful property owners/managers. We would love to stay here again!

Honeymoon getaway!

Hale Kokio was the perfect place to stay for our honeymoon! Clean, cute, and a great distance from beaches, hikes, and restaurants. It was so nice to have a private getaway after exploring the island everyday.

Beautiful cottage and property

We spent 4 nights in the cottage and loved every second of it. The cottage is perfect for a couple. The hot tub was perfect after coming home from long hikes or relaxing on the beach.

Perfect getaway

Wonderful Cottage

This was our second stay here. We honeymooned at this magical cottage 7 years ago. We absolutely love it! Our favorite feature is the large private deck with a hot tub. We also enjoyed walking the grounds and picking fresh fruit.

Beautiful Hideaway

We had the lovely pleasure of staying in this gem. It’s rural, quiet, private location was the ideal get away for this country girl. I would recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxing get away from the hubbub of busy life.

Amazing rental in Kauai

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the property. We loved the location, communication with the property manager was easy and the garden surrounding the cottage was lovely. Highly recommend this rental if you are looking for a private, romantic Kauai getaway away from the typical tourist areas.

Hale Kokio Stay

One of our new favorite places to stay! We had such a great trip and loved coming back to the cottage at the end of the day to soak in the hot tub and get a good nights sleep. Really peaceful setting with lots of trees and greenery for privacy and amenities to make for a really comfortable stay. Would love to come back and stay again someday!

We loved this place! The house is very private, with a huge yard. You really have the place to yourself. The jacuzzi was spotless and worked great. The AC and all appliances worked great too. The place was spotless. The large patio worked great for morning breakfasts. The bed was comfy too. The neighborhood and surrounding area is stunning. We hope to stay again sometime.

Walks on the beach, cultivating our gardens, sharing harvests with friends, music by the fire, preparing meals of fresh fish and local produce.
