Cozy vacation near boat launch - Raystown Lake

Quiet, rustic cozy home on wooded grounds, perfect for a relaxing getaway. We are 1 1/2 miles from James Creek boat launch near the center of Lake Raystown, located near Entriken. This home has two bedrooms, one on the first floor with a queen bed, and the other, on the second floor, with two queen beds.. The second bedroom also sports an upright piano for the musical guest. Wi-Fi is available. Deck is furnished with outdoor tables, seating, and a gas grill. A fire ring is available off the deck for making s'mores and the ingredients are complimentary! Firewood is available for $10/wheelbarrow load. RV/Campers not permitted. Plenty of bird-watching and chattering squirrels. See our tourist guide booklet for all kinds of fun things to do. Have a great time!

Lake Raystown is the fishing and boating capital of central Pennsylvania and James Creek launch is a hot spot for bass tournaments. Five minutes from Lake Raystown Resort and Waterpark and Trough Creek State Park's Balanced Rock and Swinging Bridge, multiple hiking trails, and great trout fishing. Multiple geocaching opportunities in the area. 15 minutes from Seven Points Recreational Area and Marina and the Allegrippis biking trails. Guided fishing tours and lake beaches at Seven Points Recreational Area and Raystown Lake Resort. Great hunting in this area in the fall.

The house is approximately 18 miles from Huntingdon , Juniata College , Lincoln Cavern. Blue Knob and Tussey Mountain Ski Resorts within 1 hour. Penn State University is also within an hours drive.

The cabin was clean, pet friendly, had everything and anything you could think of. The host wasn't kidding about just bring clothes and personal items. It was such a cute place.

This home was clean, obviously well cared for, kitchen well stocked and outside was beautifully planted and the fire pit was great, including provided s’more ingredients! Wonderful spot highly recommend !

Perfect getaway if you want peace and quiet. If you want water activities such as boating, fishing, etc., Lake Raystown Resort is only 4 miles away and easy to get to. The house was very well kept, clean and as described. The only suggestion I have is to supply plastic cups for kids as everything is glass. Otherwise, the kitchen is well stocked. Thank you for a wonderful week even though it was too hot to have a campfire.

This was our 7th year staying here. This cottage checks everything on our list. The cottage is clean, kitchen is stocked with plenty of dinnerware/cookware. The outdoor patio set allows dining on the deck. We usually end our evening with a fire and s’mores ( complimentary ingredients) at the fire pit. Close to trough creek state park, and Tatman Run and Seven Points beaches. I hope we can have many more family vacations here!

The host, Julie, answered all my questions before our stay. She was very quick to respond. The house itself was wonderful!! Everything was already there!! Sheets, towels, dishes, etc. The only things you need for your stay are your personal items like clothes, toiletries, and beach towels. They even have separate towels to wipe down your boat or your pet! They have a complimentary basket with items to make S’mores!!! We had such a lot of fun!!! It’s clean, cozy, very charming, and one of the nicest places we’ve ever stayed!! We will definitely be booking again next year!!

The cabin is perfect and the area is just a great place to come to get away. We have stayed at “cozy cabin” 13 times over the past 11 years.

Lovely cottage for a lovely vacation away

James Creek PA cabin

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

Our family purchased acreage on Piney Ridge in 1971 to take advantage of the newly formed Raystown Lake, built a road, cleared the land, roasted many a hotdog over burning brush piles, and finally built the cottage in 1974. It has been the site of many reunions, a wedding, a few honeymoons, anniversary & birthday celebrations, and Thanksgiving dinner has been a tradition here since 1974. The cottage has been well used & well loved. We chose the spot for its proximity to the lake to take advantage of the many activities such as boating, skiing, hiking, swimming and fishing. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
