Family Friendly in Sheffield, private yet close to everything!

Your perfect country escape. Clean, spacious, light and airy home set in the middle of a meadow on 20 acres. Complete privacy, yet 10 minutes to downtown Great Barrington. Close to skiing at both Catamount and Butternut. There is room for everyone, with 4 bedrooms, including two master suites. The first floor features an open concept kitchen/living/dining, along with a powder room, spacious mudroom and a gorgeous newly added 4 season sun room with radiant heat. There is also a queen bedded master suite on the first floor with a walk in closet and bathroom featuring a Jacuzzi tub. The second floor has 3 additional bedrooms including a second master suite that has both a king sized bed and a twin bed, and a bathroom with a walk in shower (no tub). An additional bedroom features a full size bed, and the last bedroom has a twin over full bunk. An additional bathroom with tub completes the second floor. Luxury bamboo sheets on all beds. Both a travel crib and extra large playpen are available. The lower level bonus space gives the kids a place to play and also features a television. The very private house sits at the end of a long driveway and is charmingly situated in a park like setting, with a meadow filled with birdsong, specimen plantings, a fruit orchard, and garden (more in-season photos coming soon!) Conveniently located in Sheffield, MA, close to South Egremont, Great Barrington, Salisbury/Lakeville, CT area and all of the restaurants, skiing and cultural attractions in Berkshire County. All appliances in the home are less than 5 years old. Dogs are considered. It is our number one priority to ensure you have a truly special and relaxing stay at our property, so please let us know if you have any questions. Sorry, no events at this time.

Beautiful, well-stocked, with great open spaces!

This is one of the best VRBOs we have ever stayed in. The house is gorgeous, very well maintained, and well-stocked. The landscaping and surrounding area is also beautiful. It is a great location for spending time in Great Barrington.

Perfect Week

I celebrated Christmas week with family at the property and we had a wonderful visit. It was so peaceful, relaxing and everyone enjoyed their stay. Close to Great Barrington with lots to do but also feels like you are in the middle of nowhere.

Great family get away!

This place is perfect for a big or small gathering of loved ones. The house is stocked with everything you will need to cook a nice meal or just hang out. We even lost power one night and the generator didn't skip a beat! Can't go wrong booking this place.

Thanksgiving in Sheffield

Thanksgiving weekend with family, and this home is so warm and inviting and comfortable. Everyone loved the house and felt right at home. Beautiful property to walk and as a bonus we had a dusting of snow to add to the holiday vibe!

We had a lovely stay in this beautiful home tucked away in the Berkshires. The home was just as described and was a perfect place for our family and friends for the weekend. Great communication with owner, will definitely stay here again if our travels take us to the Berkshires again.

Great Rental House

Great stay

This is an adorable home, and we really enjoyed our stay. There was a glitch early on, though the owner was very responsive and had the issue resolved quickly. Will definitely be looking to see if this home is available for our next visits to the area!

Convenient, flexible & spacious

Great house for groups & families! Home base for our yearly girls trip (now with a few kids in tow), open living space was great for dinner and hanging. Enough bedrooms for separate families & singles. Playroom was a huge hit!

Wonderful

Very delightful and comfort home with convenient but quiet location. Enjoyed the amazing birds, the groundhog, deer and turkey. Just the most beautiful setting and lovely place to stay. Hope to be back soon

Great Mini Vacation

The house was as beautiful as described. It was clean, furnished warmly and full of natural light. Anything you might need was available in the home’s kitchen. The owner Abby was very accommodating and very pleasant and friendly Strongly recommend this property

Wonderful weekend getaway

We had such a wonderful time staying at this home! It’s in a rural area far from any other homes and is so beautiful and spacious. Very easy to drive to the nearby towns to grab food and tons of great hikes nearby. Communication was excellent. Highly recommend!!!

Exceeds Expectations

The house and property were beautiful - very well kept, very well furnished and perfect for 4 couples attending a nearby wedding. Outdoor and indoor spaces were generous - so even with 8 adults, there was space to be together and find 'away time'. We've stayed at VRBO properties for a long time - this is one of the best.

Weekend in the Berks

This house and the surrounding property is absolutely beautiful! There is a view of nature from every window, and it’s quiet and still, so relaxing! Yet it’s only a short drive to the main road and lots of wonderful shops and restaurants and sights. I can’t wait for our next visit.

The perfect Berkshire property

Stayed here for Berkshire School graduation and wish we had found this house sooner. Absolutely beautiful property inside and out. First floor primary, gorgeous sun room, perfect bedrooms upstairs. The owners couldn’t have been nicer to deal with. This is a must!

Gathering in the Berkshires

I can't say enough about this idyllic beautiful home in a great location. Hiking, Great Barrington, wonderful restaurants, and quaint little towns are all nearby. The owner is very responsive to any requests or questions. I was actually sad to leave.

Beauty in the Berkshires

Of our 5 family stays in the Berkshires, Peacefield shines. From the secluded setting to the house’ s layout, downstairs and upstairs, including the “playground” downstairs, there is room to relax and spread out. Our family enjoyed every minute of our stay. The house is thoughtfully replete with everything one needs from kitchenware to towels. Best was the parklike out of doors where the kids played and ran for hours.

Perfect for families with children

Wish we could have stayed a whole week! (and maybe next time we will). Super clean large house with plenty of space for everyone---the basement a wonderful play area full of great toys for children. This was particularly welcome due to the many rainstorms outside. More kids play things in carport. Top level supplies (soaps, etc.). Did kite flying in the "back 40" (yard). Owner easy to work with. Plenty of different activities in the Sheffield/Barrington area to do.

Exceptional House, Lovely Setting, A++++

Our family (2 adults, 3 teens) had a wonderful week-long stay at this beautifully appointed home in an amazing location. Abby, the owner, is communicative and responsive; she went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was fantastic (including shipping a brand new drip coffee maker to the house to make our stay even better!) The house is spacious and beautifully decorated; the sunroom was a favorite space for us all, but the patio and fire pit were a close second! The nighttime stars and sounds of nature were wonderfully restorative. The house was immaculate; the bedding and linens were luxurious and plentiful; the kitchen had top-brand appliances, etc. I would highly recommend this house/host to all.

Loved Everything About Our Stay

This property had absolutely everything we needed and then some! It was clean and very well provisioned. The location was private, but close to town. We didn't have any children with us, but kids would love it. Lots of toys and even an outdoor playset. The owner was very helpful and communicated promptly. Can't ask for more.

Beautiful property in a great location

We had a short family vacation over the Thanksgiving holiday with our three adult children. This is a spacious country house set on a large private property, nicely decorated and equipped. We loved the proximity to Great Barrington and to the many hiking options in the nearby mountains. The host was friendly and responsive to all our questions and needs.

Peacefield has always felt like our own special escape from it all, and with our recent re-location to Southern New Hampshire for work reasons, we are thrilled to share this special property with others.
