Charming lake cabin nestled among towering pine trees over looking beautiful Big Silver Lake gives you a wonderful setting to relax and enjoy the peace and serenity only Central Wisconsin can provide.

Spend your days: fishing from the dock, swimming at the beach, building a sand castle, sun tanning, roasting marshmallows over the bonfire. Add additional fun to your stay by bringing your boat to enjoy fishing, water-skiing, jet skiing or just cruising the 350 acre lake. There are many scenic walking areas to hike, bike and see nature at its finest. Located just minutes from dining, shopping, and two championship golf courses. You can choose to boat or drive to the Silvercryst Supper Club where you can enjoy outstanding dining and entertainment.

Located 3 1/2 hours North of Chicago, two hours North of Milwaukee or 90 minutes NE of Madison.

Great time on Silver Lake

We had a wonderful stay. Great view over the lake from the balcony, nice beach area for the kids, and easy to find.

Our family had a wonderful stay at Silver Lake Escape. The cottage was clean and the size was as advertised. The extra swim area with new dock and swim platform made the trip. Great sand and crystal clear water!! John was pleasure to interact with. Would not hesitate to book again. Thanks again John.

Lake Stay

John was very responsive and easy to communicate with. Cottage was clean and well stocked with all we needed for our stay. Water was great and whole family swam every day.

Great Week!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Having access to both the bay and lake was great, and we enjoyed the paddle boat and kayak. The house was perfect for our family and had everything we needed. Looking forward to starting a tradition of staying every summer! Thanks to John for sharing his home with us.

Lovely lakefront cottage

Although we had to visit the lake under sad circumstances, as we had a death in the family, the accommodations were just fine. Lovely location and good communication with the property manager. Only comment is that the stairs going down to the lake need a good power washing very slippery and it was raining most of the time we were there.

Loved it again the second time

This was my family's second visit. We enjoyed it just as much as the previous time and maybe more, as there were some upgrades to the property. Clean house - older but well kept. Situated nicely within in a bay with calm waters - great for kayaking and fishing, but not swimming. However, there is a great swimming area that you can use on another property owned by the same host. Great communication with owner, who is very nice and accommodating.

Clean, relaxing house with lots of lake activities for the family

The house is older but very well kept, clean, and comfortable. It faces the lake and sits on a bay that is well protected from the wind that can make the rest of the lake rough and hard to navigate. The bay is particularly nice because house comes with a canoe, kayak, and peddle-boat. The calm waters allowed me to safely take my kids (2 and 7) on these boats, and they loved the experience. Fishing of the dock was also; lots of fish. The house is also conveniently close to a supermarket, so that you don't need to bring a lot of supplies. One important thing to note is that the house doesn't come with linens and towels; you have to bring your own. We almost missed that detail and would hate for anybody to arrive not bringing these items. John, the owner, is super nice and very responsive and helpful. Our family of four had a great time and would definitely recommend this place.

This is a lovely property and an excellent place to enjoy time with your family on beautiful Silver Lake. My husband, four young adult children and I flew out from California and then met up with my mom, who drove down from Green Bay, WI to meet us. My brother and his wife came from Green Bay and joined us for a couple of nights too and there was plenty of space for all of us to comfortably sleep, hang out and enjoy the lake together. There is a lovely porch on the lower level and nice porch with a great deck, barbecue and plenty of outdoor seating off the main level that overlooks the lake. You do need to provide your own linens, bath towels and beach towels, so be sure to plan for that if coming a long way. John is an excellent host!

Wautoma Labor Day Silver Lake Escape

Our Silver Lake Escape was absolutely perfect! This was a last minute getaway and John was so accommodating with some requests we had! The location on the lake is perfect and quiet yet so close to the wonderful restaurants Wautoma has to offer. We were able to take advantage of the water toys that were included with our stay . The lake home was clean and comfortable. The views were spectacular! We enjoyed playing games out on the on the party bar. We loved sitting by the fire pit by the lake with firewood supplied. It overall was an excellent last minute getaway! Thank you, John, for sharing your beautiful lake home with us!

Opportunity to enjoy a beautiful outdoor playground

The prime lake location is perfect for so many family outdoor activities. Nature provides the lake and beauty. The host provides a canoe, kayak, paddle boat, fishing pier, fire pit, as well as additional lake access just a path down from the cabin. The cabin is smaller yet cozy and comfortable.

Family Gathering (ages 9 thru 86)

Great view of the lake, The water was so clear The cottage had everytthing we needed. Wifi worked great as did the tv for watching movies together. Great fishing.. There were more steps than we expected but 86 yr . old me managed.

Great vacation

First time at this property and on this lake but not new to the area. Cottage was as advertised at the end of a quiet bay. Good location plus access to main lake beach and swim raft. John was more than gracious providing coffee and doughnuts at 6am after a storm blew threw and knocked out the power for a couple days. It was a hot windy week so the end of bay location really kept us out of the wind. Solid fishing lake with clear water. We had a nice relaxing week.

Great swimming

This was a great setting for swimming, boating and enjoying nature. The house was just as portrayed in pictures and written descriptions. It had everything we needed. Wifi worked perfectly.

Fun family vacation

We really enjoyed our week at this Silver Lake escape! We have been returning to this lake for the past few years but this was our first stay at this cabin. John was a great host and the cabin had everything we needed-lots of sleeping options, nicely decorated, great views and deck. We enjoyed kayaking and using the paddle boat on the quiet bay. Having the raft and swim area on the big lake was key! We only wish the weather would have been a little warmer and that we could have stayed longer!

Getaway with grandchildren

The property was as advertised with 2 water frontage, one for boating/fishing and one for swimming. My son caught fish everyday and the kids swam every day.

Vacation

Cottage was great. My only concern was no sand beach front to use because of algae. We did have fun on a raft that was provided by John a few properties down.

Family week at Silver lake.

The cottage was very nice, well equipped and very clean. The lake had a no wake ordinance in effect which turned out to our advantage. No big speed boats to scare the kids. Weather was super and the Pizza night in town was fun. We made many family memories and really enjoyed the stay. Thanks John!!
