Winton grew up in North Atlanta.... spent the last twenty years living on the Appalachian Trail (AT) in the North Georgia Mountains.
Mountain Crossings was his store, the shop catered to the hikers, tourist and wandering souls along the Appalachian Trail @ Neels Gap, below Blood Mountain. The AT literally went through my building. In 2010, Winton, published his first book called "Just Passin Thru: A Vintage Store, the Appalachian Trail, and a Cast of Unforgettable Characters" - the book garnished several awards across the country and is available online and in audio.
The books HUGE success sent Winton down another path, writing, speaking and living life. In 2014, he sold the business, invested in real estate in Hilton Head and started a new adventure by the sea.
Today Winton & Lisa split their time between the mountains, sea and wherever the wind blows them.... and spend much of their days in the arts.... writing, metal, acrylics... as well as traveling towards whatever epic adventure tickles the two gypsy souls.
