KING'S POINT, SLEEPS 4 ON BEAUTIFUL EGGEMOGGIN REACH
King’s Point is situated on picturesque Eggemoggin Reach, one of the most scenic areas of the Maine coast. Adjacent to Penobscot Bay, home of one of the world's largest fleets of historic wooden schooners, guests are often treated to the sight of these magnificent sailing vessels passing by. Just a stone's throw from the ocean, King's Point's shoreline is rocky and not easily accessed, however guests have the use of three private association waterfront areas - an ocean dock, ocean swimming beach, and Walker Pond lake beach. Hike the easy and nearby Lookout Rock nature preserve for spectacular views of Eggemoggin Reach, Penobscot Bay, and the Camden Hills. Whether you want to take day trips to explore the Downeast area, or to simply enjoy the natural beauty of the Maine coast, King’s Point is a great choice for a Maine seaside vacation. Guests will happily settle in and appreciate its simple charm, comfortable furnishings, lovingly maintained by the owners, whose family has owned the land since being deeded to them by the King of England. Thoughtfully furnished with comfortable beds, quality linens, a washer and dryer, and gas stove and electric heat for chilly weather. Outside guests will have privacy on the oceanside deck. Clean and relaxing, this cottage welcomes guests who return yearly - further assurance that those who choose King's Point will be pleased with their selection. 15 minutes to Blue Hill, an hour to Acadia National Park entrance, and 20 minutes to Stonington Village, guests are near a variety of excellent restaurants, unique shops, museums, galleries, and easily-accessed hiking trails. Please note: The queen bedroom and half bath are in a separate room attached to the cabin and accessed across a short-breezeway. Please note: Owner has severe allergies to dog and cat dander and because of this, pets cannot be accommodated.

Por qué eligió esta propiedad
As described by the Blue Hill Chamber of Commerce: The Blue Hill Peninsula encompasses the towns of Blue Hill, Brooklin, Brooksville, Castine, Penobscot, Sedgwick, and Surry and serves as the gateway to Little Deer Isle, Deer Isle, and Stonington. Blue Hill is the largest town and is the region’s service center. The landscape here is marked by sweeping views of the blueberry barrens and the sea. Tucked in among the ridges, valleys, and jagged coastline, you’ll find adventure of all kinds, from a day on the water and an evening of live music to a solitary morning walk and an afternoon of gallery tours and shopping.
You’ll find our communities to be diverse, independent yet interconnected. In all of these places, you may strike up a conversation with a lobsterman, boatbuilder, or sailor who knows these waters like the back of their hand. In all of these places, you will find locally sourced food and highly skilled craftspeople and artists. In all of these places, you will find evidence of the resourcefulness, dry wit, and creativity that has defined our region’s culture for centuries.
This region was settled in the mid-1700s, and its early economy centered around shipbuilding and quarrying. Lumbering, lobstering, fishing, and farming have played an important role in our economy and culture since the earliest days. By the late 1800’s the region had become a summer destination. Today, many of these industries coexist with a thriving art, music, and food scene to create this unique place called The Blue Hill Peninsula.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad
This is a small, simply furnished, and comfortable cabin sitting on the edge of Eggemoggin Reach. The original building started many years ago as a fish house and was added onto. The queen bedroom is attached by a breezeway. The deck looking over the Reach is a magical place to relax and reconnect.
