Flamingo House - Experience Old Florida!

Come experience Old Florida in our circa 1957 Mid-Century Modern home! It boasts open living areas with the bedrooms on one wing of the house. A glassed in lanai stretches across the entire back of the house. The floors are original terrazzo. There are many vintage furnishings throughout the house.

You will enjoy the large kitchen with original working cooktop and oven. It is well stocked and very pink!

Flamingo House has two bedrooms. The master has a king sized bed, and the second bedroom has a queen. Between the bedrooms you will find a beautiful vintage tiled bathroom that has been recently updated. We also have a laundry room/half bath combo, and we recently installed an outdoor shower!

There is a full sized sleeper in the living room as well as a roll away bed. The sofa on the lanai is quite comfy as well! You will find the laundry and half bath off the kitchen. In the mudroom you will find plenty of chairs and toys for the beach. We even have a sifter for all the sharks teeth you will find at the beach!

There are many public beaches close by. Manasota Beach is about 3 miles south of us. It has bathroom facilities and public parking. Blind Pass Beach, 8 miles south of us, is a state park with free parking, bathhouse facilities, and wide beaches. There are several excellent public beaches on Venice Island, including a dog beach.

Wonderful stay

House was very clean, larger than expected and well stocked. We were able to relax after a day at the beach, kayaking or bike riding. Would stay again.

Home away from home

Well stocked, cute, fun decor. Felt like we were staying in the Dick Van Dyke show's house.Everything worked as expected and home is good location for a stay in Venice area.

Loved our stay

Wonderful stay. Fenced yard for the dog was nice. Everything was very clean and welcoming. It took us a bit to figure out tv. If I had known it had Netflix I would have brought my password paper. Unfortunately beaches were closed. We hope to return as we have family in the area. Thanks

Love this place!

This was our second time staying at the Flamingo House. This time we stayed for 3.5 weeks and love the property. The neighborhood is quiet, everyone around is nice, and the owner is great! Everything is close by and easy to get to, the house is fully furnished with everything you could think of including beach stuff. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Venice, thanks for a great few weeks!

Adorable retro Florida home

The decor has a new vintage vibe. We loved having the bikes to use and the house was stocked with everything we needed - even a special delivery of some local coffee for our stay!

Large house with plenty of room

Awesome house. Had a small problem and the property owner responded immediately even though it was the middle of the night. Would recommend to anyone. They owner left a detailed book with beaches and restaurants that was very helpful. Will stay here again.

Clean and Funky

The house was very clean and maintained very well. It appeared to have original working appliances (stove and oven) and a very unique decor. The house was more than spacious for our family of 5.

Fantastic home in Venice

Spacious home with retro character! Mitzi has thought of everything her guests might need & gave us great suggestions for restaurants & activities! Everyone we met (several neighbors,sales clerks,even the cashier @ carwash) was friendly! Being bird watchers, we loved the Audubon rookery,which is nearby & all the egrets & storks that frequent the neighborhood!We hope to return.

Perfect Florida getaway!

We went for the weekend to do some shark teeth hunting and really enjoyed our stay. The house was super clean and comfortable and it a great location to visit all the surrounding beaches and activities. The neighborhood was clean and quiet and we felt very safe and relaxed. Mitzi provided everything we needed as well to help us enjoy the weekend. And I LOVE the flamingo wall paper in the bathroom - so cute!! Great house - I would recommend staying here and would do so again. Thanks Mitzi!!

Nice House close downtown and beaches!!

So I’m having a hard time writing this because I want to be able to rent this house again and doing so will possibly limit my chances in the future!!! We VRBO all the time and have to say by far this house was the best stocked and had everything you needed for a great day at the beach. There was lots of space to hang out once back home. The retro relaxing chair in the living room, OMG so freaking comfortable!!! We had a couple hiccups, but the host is very communicative and responsive. If I was to complain about something. It would be the frying pans need to be updated. Apparently other renters had put them in the dishwasher, so the coating is spotty. Bottom line. I would definitely stay here again!!!

Charming

Location was perfect. Close to amenities. Short drive to public beach parking. Outside shower to clean off before going inside. The home is like stepping back in time. We enjoyed everything about it. Thank you

Adorable MCM vibe

Great little property. Love the vintage vibe. Close to everything. Equipped with everything you need for an extended stay. Mitzi communicated quickly and resolved small faucet issue swiftly. Beds were comfy. Great little fenced in area for the pupper. Nice neighborhood. Street is a little busy at times but no problems. Highly recommend.

We will be returning

Before arriving to the Flamingo house, Mitzi was in contact to send information about the house and check in process as well as to answer any questions we might have prior to arrival. Upon arrival, the check in process was easy. The house was super cute, comfortable and clean!!! The house is in a nice neighborhood and has a yard, so we felt comfortable letting the kids run around and play in the yard. We brought towels and chairs and umbrellas with us but as it turns out, Mitzi already has the house stocked full of all those things for the beach. Any time we had a question, I was able to message Mitzi and get a prompt response. She was extremely helpful! We were so thrilled with everything, we booked an extra night. We are already planning our next trip to the Flamingo house. If you book your stay here are the Flamingo house, you won’t be disappointed!!

Quick access to Venice attractions

The property is a step back into 1950s Florida; we especially liked the range top with push-button temperature selection. We haven't seen one like that in 40 years. It was very clean and comes with a few bicycles, although we brought our own bikes. There is even a bicycle pump provided. There are plenty of excellent seafood restaurants 10-15 minutes away; the beach areas are about the same distance. We have two small dogs who enjoyed the house and Brohard Paw Park on the beach. Every day there were 30-50 dogs running around that beach, having a great time. The only concern we had was Flamingo Road--in front of the house. Some people travel far too fast down that narrow roadway, which can be a bit hazardous for dog walking and biking. That's not the owner's fault; some people just lack common sense in the way they drive. We found it better to transport our dogs to other locations for their daily exercise.

Property was great very retro we loved it the house was very well stocked with chairs towels beach towels bicycles and games had a lovely time where we got to visit with relatives lots of ceiling fans we would choose it again over hotel

A Weekend in the Past

Wonderful Vacation Home!!!

We loved the Flamingo House!! It has EVERYTHING you need, just unpack and relax. Mitzi the owner was awesome, and so responsive! The home is clean, fun, comfortable, near the beaches and great restaurants. It also has a huge fenced in yard great for children and pups. We will definitely return!!

Old Florida is a win

This property suited our life style. It is near beaches, golf courses and a 5 star biking trail and many restaurants. We also enjoy the open concept inside the home. The owner is very easy to communicate with.
