Blue Mountain Cottage near Deep Creek Campground

Welcome to Blue Mountain Cottage, a family owned and treasured retreat for 70+ years. Our recently remodeled cottage (10/2019) has tongue and groove paneling inside, new flooring, and a large covered deck with vaulted ceiling, rocking chairs, ceiling fans and, of course, beautiful views! The parking area and the living areas and deck are all on one level -no steps to navigate. EVs welcome, too - level 2 charger available.

It's a short 6 minute walk to Deep Creek park and campground, part of the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. The property borders the Park. There are convenient hiking trails, with 3 waterfalls along the way, fishing and tubing (4 tubes available for guests) in the Park. It is less than 2 miles to downtown Bryson City and the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad. We are centrally located. For rafting and kayaking, the Nantahala Outdoor center is only 23 minutes away. It's only 20 minutes to Cherokee and the Blue Ridge Parkway and only an hour to Asheville.

We really enjoyed our stay here at the cabin and it’s so close to Deep Creek falls and trails-we even saw a bear after the Indian Creek falls road!! He wasn’t very big and he scared us just as much as we scared him! Bryson City and Dillsboro were our favorite places and restaurants. The train was a great addition. Will be back!

Usually we stay here in cold months, but it still was a very nice trip. Weather much better than Florida. Enjoyed watching folks tubing and we did the cave tour in Townsend. Alot of bird activity at back porch to enjoy. Bob always a helpful host.

The cottage has everything you need and more! We were able to check in early. It was a beautiful view with tons of waterfalls nearby. Definitely would come stay again. Cute, small, quiet city!

Blue Mountain Cottage exceeded our expectations. It was so perfect. Decorated beautifully. Kitchen was so well equipped, we cooked most meals at the cottage. We spent a lot of time on the back porch. The wildlife was so amazing. So many birds! It was a joy to watch them and the bees and butterflies. At night you can enjoy the fireflies. Be sure to check out the coffeetable books and firefly art by the fireplace. We had a mama deer and her baby visit most days. We saw bobcats, bunnies.The artwork throughout is pretty special. Bob was very attentive and so easy to communicate with. Parking was very easy. The location was why we picked this cottage. We love Deep Creek, the hiking, and tubing, and waterfalls. Bryson City is so close and a very fun place. We absolutely loved Blue Mountain Cottage!Bob, thanks for sharing your special place with us!

Perfect vacation spot

Easy access for older people, beautiful view, very nice kitchen, large size bedrooms, great living and dining space,driveway was safe and easy drive. We would go again.

Great place to stay!

Such a nice quiet place to get away. Close to the Smokey Mountains for hiking. The deck is the perfect place to start and end the day soaking up the views. Comfortable beds and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook all of our meals.

Home away from home with a view

I loved our stay and enjoyed the view. The house was clean and cozy and just a minute or two from downtown Bryson City. We also enjoyed our hike at the Nat’l Park. Definitely a 5 🌟 place to stay

Smokey Mountain Retreat

Clean cabin, well stocked. Very close to Deep Creek and Bryson City. Recommend to anyone visiting this area of the Smokies.

This 3 night stay was wonderful. Everything from the location relative to Bryson City, the views of the mountains, comfortable beds and living room chairs, and all necessary kitchen needs were included in this stay. The only thing I can say to those who might bring children of young age is that the bathroom shower might require some creativity if you want to bathe the kiddos. This home delivered what I was looking for, which was an escape to the mountains.

Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful experience. We had everything we needed. It was very clean and well stocked. The view was great. It was quiet and accessible to town. The host was very responsive and helpful.

We live in central Florida, but love to escape the heat. My wife and I finally retired in 2024 so we are using the cottage more frequently, but when we are not, we welcome you to enjoy our slice of paradise!

Location is hard to beat. Our property adjoins the Great Smoky Mountains National park and you literally are a very short walking distance to the Deep Creek recreation area. Easy access - no brutal steep mountain driveways to traverse. And downtown Bryson City is less than 2 miles away.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

Mixture of modern and rustic, but very comfortable with nice views from our front deck. Lots of birds, and usually wild turkeys, rabbits, groundhogs, and deer can be seen. Occasional bear sighted.
