Secluded Cottage on beautiful private Peninsula

Escape to an 1000 acre Coastal peninsula of unspoiled wilderness and stunning views. Walk along the rugged coastline to private beaches, stunning rock formations, through Nikau Palm forests and endless ocean views.

Nestles a midst this abundant natural sanctuary, is our lovely cottage, with views overlooking the entire Whanganui Inlet. This charming holiday house is perfect for just a couple or for the whole family. The Cottage is spacious and modern with one double bedroom and one twin bedroom. Feel at home in the large comfortable lounge with the fire place to keep you cosy. The kitchen is fully equipped with oven, fridge and microwave, should you wish to cook.

You are welcome to go fishing, dive for lobster and search for paua.

The Cottage is perfect for couples who wish to getaway together.

Families are also very comfortable in the Cottage, which sleeps 4 guest.

Had a wonderful time. Great place to stay relax and explore. Cottage was well equipped for all your needs. Cows, sheep and all the great from mountains to sea. Absolutely spectacular

One of the hidden gems of Aotearoa - this slice of paradise is utterly unheralded. 360 degree beauty surrounds all your senses with abundant birdsong, sheer limestone cliffs, untouched west coast beaches and nikau palms to die for. The ebb and flow of the Whanganui inlet, its spectacular sunrises and sunsets become the rhythm of your life. We stayed 4 days in this private paradise and will definitely be back to the jewel of the Kahurangi. One of the most spectacular places in New Zealand.

Once a lifetime

WOW! if you are wanting to experience a stunning part of NZ that is literally untouched this is the place for you. The cottage itself is close to the lodge and is located on a working farm, run by a passionate family of three generations. The private land to explore is expansive with many beautiful walks and untouched beaches to discover, if you are thinking this is remote, it is, but well worth the trip, even the drive there is something special, this is a slice of NZ that many people simply won't get the opportunity to experience, so if you are undecided about weather to make the effort, don't be, it will be worth it and you will be glad you made the decesion to experience a slice of paradise.

A setting for a great New Zealand novel.

Amazing location

We had a fantastic 3 days at the Westhaven Retreat cottage. The property has a variety of walks each with different scenery and all well worth doing. Monika and the team were great. The meal we had delivered to the cottage was excellent. This was a unique holiday and well worth the trip.

What an amazing setting, Just out of this world. A must to go and see this part of NZ.

Some of the most spectacular, un spoilt countryside you could be pillaged to experience. A must for anyone who wants to see the beauty of the west coast, be prepared to do a little walking to see the best of it. Thanks to some amazing hosts who allowed us to share their paradise in NZ.

Was an awsome trip.with lots to do..great spot for kids.and lots of room.everything you need.

Kids had a blast could even let of some crackers for kids for guyfalwks.cant wait to stay again.awsome views.was nice we could ride the bikes around and explore the farm.owners were very friendly and were more than happy to help our stay that much better..so thank you and we will definitely lately be back.

If you're after a special experience lost in nature, magnificent environment, peace and tranquillity, this is basically the ultimate. It can't go any better, topped up by friendliest hosts. Monika and her family are the kindest people, and have made our stay very special.

Majestic

Fantastic place

The seclusion of Westhaven is part of the attraction. With dramatic scenery on the west coast and the comfort of the cottage, I would highly recommend this place to stay to anyone wanting an escape from busy city life . The optional dinner at the lodge is fantastic and the hosts are great!

This is worth more than 5 stars. Stunning location and wonderful hosts nearby.

The cottage is dated but perfectly fine, but you don’t come here for the amenities, it’s the location, which is truely stunning. Located right next door to the Westhaven Luxury Resort - to find your way to the cottage, head to the resort and go to the reception - there are kms of tracks to wander over all around with only sheep and cows for company. Food, if you take the dining option, is delicious. Highly recommended

Loved this location, completely away from it all.

Loved this location, completely away from it all. A beautiful private peninsular with many wonderful walks to private beaches. We loved everything about it, Cottage was clean, modern and well positioned with some nice touches to make us feel welcome, Would definitely visit again and would recommend to family and friends.

A cosy cabin with an amazing view.

A cosy cabin with an amazing view. After taking one of the many great walks one can retreat to a warm fire and a well-appointed kitchen. This is a special place run by a special family.
