ILIKAI NOTICE — July 9, 2025
Starting July, 2025, spalling repairs and full exterior painting of the building begins. Please be advised that balcony access for this unit will be restricted from approximately June 29, 2026, to November 20, 2026, during work hours (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM). These dates are subject to change due to weather conditions or unforeseen delays. Please also be aware that noise disturbances may occur throughout the duration of this project.

Since another guest may check out the same day you arrive, to guarantee an early Check-In, reserve the condo for the night prior to arrival.

Enjoyable experience

Great location, close to Ala Moana Mall, walking distance to Waikiki, surrounded by great restaurants and shops, beautiful balcony view. Close to bike and car rentals. This all helped to give an enjoyable and relaxing experience

Paradise

Great location, quiet place with a wonderful view. Close to everything, yet felt like we were on the "quieter" end of the beach which was perfect. Lots of space for our family of 4.

Great views

This is a nice unit with easy access to the beach and amazing view of the fireworks. The only issue was there’s only one blanket for three beds. Plenty of sheets but no blankets. Also the couch could use replacing or at least a good cleaning. Unit also included all beach gear!!!! Towels, beach chairs, boogie board etc.

Perfect location, nice condo

The property is older but there are really nice updates and the property has a great pool area and is close to beaches. The condo was sparsely supplied with no extra bedding or towels. The kitchen had the bare minimum and things were labeled in Japanese.

Decent Place to Stay in Waikiki

Great location great room

Location is close to restaurants, good shopping and other facilities in hotel. Turtles seen right in the beach. The dishwasher broke during our stay and someone came quickly to fit it for us. Only weird thing is that the two bedrooms have a wall just there is a space where the glass sliding patio door goes that makes the rooms connected. It’s small and does not interfere with privacy just noise.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Nice penthouse condo. Main Living area much larger than expected. Well equipped kitchen. Plenty of towels for all. With being a penthouse the balcony is not large enough to sit outside. Probably time for some repainting but totally worth the cost. Very convenient. Able to find parking close for less than the $45+ hotel parking fees. Easy walk to beach, stores & restaurants. Rental company very quick to respond.

Using the Penthouse is not always the best.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We've stayed at the Ilikai a few times now, and always like the location near the marina, lagoon and the ocean. This time, we went for the Penthouse which was a great condo, except that there is no real balcony to sit out on and look at the water. Every other time we stayed there, we were able to sit out and drink coffee in the morning and maybe a drink at night and look out.Add the oceans and things. Other than that, it was a very nice condo, very well equipped, very clean and a nice location.

When we arrive we had to vacuum floors. There was no dish washer pods, washing pods. The walls where dirty with construction working hands. The faucet in bathrooms were loose and no hot water in sink! I can go on but I won’t. Would never recommend this so called newly remodeled to anyone!

Nice Ocean View Penthouse (26th Floor)

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The unit was very nice and clean. Walk downstairs and you're at a public sand beach and it's not as busy as Waikiki beach. Location is convenient. Only valet parking is available and it's $35/day. The only thing we hope to see improvement is to have more supplies provided, like kitchen foil/saran wrap, laundry detergent, etc, because it's difficult to buy small portions and I don't think anyone would pack those when travel. Also, air conditioner didn't cool down the unit one morning when the weather was in the 80's.

Week stay in Hawaii

Overall stay was very good and enjoyable. The location is great and if you even better. Couple of small issues that were somewhat troublesome… . 1. You have to valet park your car you cannot self park. 2. The walls between the 2 bedrooms are “very thin” and not that private. If one bedroom has the tv on, the other room can hear it. 3. For the most part the condo was clean. The floors needed some extra work when we got there. 4. When others clean, the smell of bleach comes into this unit and is really strong in some areas of the condo. 5. A couple more chairs in the living room would have been nice to have as we had 4 adults and all of us had to sit on one couch.

Loved the location, outdated property

The condo cleanliness was less than desired. There was dust hanging from the chandelier over the dining table and also from the vents. The floors were dirty from the moment we entered. Our socks and feet were dirty. We loved the view and being able to open up the patio doors at night when it cooled down to hear the wind and ocean. Unfortunately, the air conditioning was not working while we were there and they installed a temporary unit, which then didn't allow for us to open the patio doors at night. There also said there was a blender on the post and there wasn't. We found out the Cinnamon's restaurant at the Ilikai hotel had an electrical fire previously, causing electrical issues to surface resulting in and no elevators for over 12 hours. Not ideal as we were on the 26th floor. The generator brought in to get the elevators back up, reduced the number of people allowed to 7, causing delays and back up for the rest of our trip. While the Ilikai says "luxury", there wasn't anything luxury about the hotel. We would definitely not stay here in the future.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The WIFI was broken for the first 3 days out of 5 nights! We couldn't watch TV or use the internet, which was very inconvenient.The next day, when I was away, a repairman came, but it was still not fixed. Two days later, after replacing the equipment, it finally became usable.The company has not apologized for the inconvenience.Our room on the 26th floor was clean and had a nice view, but the terrace was small and there was no room to sit. I wanted to have a leisurely meal on the terrace, but that is not possible. When I looked at the condominiums in front and on the side, I was envious of everyone relaxing on the terrace. I like Ilikai, but next time I'll get a larger room with a terrace.When I opened the window, the sound of the air conditioner was noisy, so I ended up closing the window.The water is weak and the shower is difficult.Good kitchen facilities.All communication with the staff is via email. It was easy to exchange emails in Japanese with Japanese staff, but they are not friendly.
