Thanksgiving with a view

Multi generation family of 10 had a wonderful stay while visiting family friends for Thanksgiving. The house was suitable for our needs and the kids had a blast with the hot tub!

I have no idea why only four stars. In all conversations renter was happy. Review doesn't mention anything to improve. It is worth noting that the person who left review did not actually stay on site.

Great Family House

Stayed here with 5 adults over the holidays in 2024. Good location in quiet neighborhood within walking distance of Pacific Palisades Village and several nice parks with good hiking trails. Close to towns of Santa Monica and Malibu and beaches; easy access to Century City, BH and Hollywood. Kitchen is small but extremely well equipped. Big grill and hot tub in back yard.

Great Place!

We all enjoyed our stay at your beautiful home. It fit our family and extended family and we were able to all hang out comfortably. The house is great for large groups.

Great house for a Palisades Vacation

We were here for work so we had a great base in La-and we’re able to walk to great hiking and lay in the sun in the backyard. House was great, clean, easy to get everywhere. Thank you!!

We had a nice time

We stayed here during one of the hottest weeks of the year and while the location was perfect and the host was very accommodating, it was quite hot inside the house and at night without central AC.

Great house and location and accommodating hosts!

We stayed here for a vacation with extended family, and our group included young kids. Our hosts were very accommodating of our requests, including purchasing an extra pack-and-play for the property so the 2 babies would have a place to sleep! We loved the location: super close to beaches and parks and easy to navigate to grocery shopping and restaurants. The backyard was great for grilling and hanging out at night. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would rent again!

Wedding Weekend

Stayed here with my four kids under 5 years old and it was just what we needed. Plenty of backyard space to run around and they were nice enough to provide us with a crib. Also had four adults staying too- we all had plenty of room to move, sleep, etc.

Birthday Getaway

We chose this house because of the size, great location and close proximity to shops and restaurants. It was the perfect size for our group of 7. When we weren’t out sightseeing, we were home enjoying the fire and hot tub in the backyard. I would highly recommend staying here. The owners made us feel very welcome. They were very kind and helped us out when another rental fell through.

Great stay on a lovely street

We had a group of 8 friends stay here and had a wonderful time. There were plenty of beds for us and all the amenities like plenty of towels and a very well stocked kitchen with supplies. The upstairs is not as nicely renovated as downstairs, but that was OK since that was just for sleeping. Downstairs living area is lovely and perfect for hosting a group to hang by the fire. Hot tub is glorious too! Thanks for a great stay.

A perfect house for a family gathering

We gathered at this beautiful home for a family wedding. The location could not have been better. The house is lovely and absolutely spotless. Wonderful artwork and photography! We comfortably fit all ten of us, with rooms to spare. The yard is wonderful. I only wish we had stayed long enough to use it more.

good stay

liked the property but definitely not air conditioned in each room. also, not the best for 2 upstairs bedroom for adults. overall property was good. had everything we needed, extra propane, hot tub working properly, fully stocked kitchen.

Hello Eric, Thank you for your review of Hampton House! We are pleased to hear you had a good stay but would have preferred you to have had an excellent, 5 star stay! I am sorry for the misunderstanding abut the air conditioning. I give a full description of our Air Conditioning Amenity in the "Amenities" Section, then click "View all 98 amenities" as follows: Air Conditioning Heating throughout and 3 window air conditioning units. Actually there is a forth wall air conditioning unit on the first level. I will need to add that! I can understand you may not have clicked on "View all 98 amenities" for the full description of our air conditioning amenity. I will check with vrbo to see if I can describe it under Amenities without having to click "View all 98 amenities to avoid further misunderstanding for future guests! We are sorry if your expectations were not met and that it caused you any discomfort. We have had you and another guest comment about the air conditioning so we will look to installing it in the other rooms! Laura

Family getaway

The property was perfect for our multigenerational family of 6. The location was perfectly located; easy to get to Malibu, Santa Monica and downtown LA. We toured some museums, visited some college campuses for our high schooler and cooked many delicious meals around the fire during our unusually rainy week. We enjoyed the hot tub and walking the neighborhood as well. The house was very well equipped and the property owners were very responsive and kind. They offered excellent suggestions as well for restaurants in the area.

Beautiful and Full of Charm!!

Our family of 5 had a wonderful stay at this property! Laura gave us an option of having an contactless check-in or have her husband Wild give us a tour. We opted for the tour. Wild was very nice and helpful! The property views are breath taking. Beautiful landscaping, quiet neighborhood, short ride to LAX, and the home had everything you would need for a great stay. Just minutes away from Santa Monica Pier, Malibu, Vince Beach, shopping, and etc... We would definitley stay at this property again when we visit again!

BEWARE OF FLYING TERMITES AND SPIDERS!!

Such a disappointment after all the 5 star reviews. I chose this rental to celebrate my 70th birthday with my kids and grandkids (a 3 yr old and a 10 mth old). The house was advertised as perfect for families and this type of event so when we arrived we were surprised to see there are 18 winding stairs going up to the front door and steep staircases inside. We checked in at 4pm, as instructed, but the housekeeper who was responsible to show us around did not communicate well, was not well informed, and continued cleaning till 5pm. The hot tub was not functional. We called the host who was not able to address the issue. It required a repairman who came late the following day. There are 6 bedrooms. Read the VRBO description carefully. On the main floor there are 3 bedrooms that share a bathroom and there is a small powder room at the other end of the house. Not the best setup for multiple families and privacy. The kids’ rooms upstairs are not appropriate for young kids due to the steep steps. These upstairs rooms were unbearably hot. One of the rooms had an air conditioner; however, the upstairs rooms were uninhabitable because they were infested with flying termites. The ocean king bedroom was supposed to have a crib. The housekeeper told us it was in the garage and it was not accessible. The two ocean bedrooms were extremely hot resulting in some of our guests leaving early. We were not able to open most windows throughout the house because there were no screens and an abundance of bugs. The ocean bedrooms also had an infestation of live termites by the windows, termite droppings and spider webs. While the description said the house was air conditioned, there were only 3 window units, one in a bedroom on each floor. The thermostat registered 82 degrees in the hallway and the bedrooms were much warmer. We planned to have a celebration in the backyard, but we were so appalled at how dirty the outdoor furniture was, we had to hose it down and put towels on some of the seats to cover the remaining dirt. While these are the major issues that should discourage you, there were minor ones as well. The “smart TVs” require a computer or device to access Netflix and Amazon Prime. One of the X-Box remotes did not work, games were missing, and all the badminton shuttlecocks were broken. There was a broken picture frame on the floor in the downstairs suite. Our best advice is to stay away from this rental.

Great stay

Fantastic time over Thanksgiving week. The house met all our needs. Enjoyed beach time, walks, and close proximity to restaurants, shopping, etc. Would recommend this house for families.

Awesome family spot

We had a terrific stay in Pacific Palisades. The home worked out perfectly for our family of 7 adults and one toddler. It was in a great location, lovely ocean view, very short drive to the beach and shops, hiking trailheads, points of interest. We enjoyed the backyard patio and hot tub. Great spot for gathering, dining, and badminton. Regan was very responsive and accommodated our family’s requests. Guests take note: There are two open staircases inside the home and stairs from the drive to the front door. Stairs up to the hot tub deck as well. The lower level of the home was a great area for our family members with a toddler as it is separate and quiet. The kitchen is well-equipped but quite small. We all like to cook, so it was cozy but manageable. Over all, great place to stay!

We love living on the California Coast which reminds me of my previous house in The Hamptons NY as well as my French Mediterranean Summer Home in Le Pradet, La Var, France.
This property is close, just 5 minutes to the nearest beach, as well as easy access to Malibu, Santa Monica and the 10 freeway.
The weather is fantastic all year round. Almost never too hot or humid with only 4-6 weeks of rain all year.
You could be surfing one day and skiing the next.
Los Angeles has everything a traveller could want and this property is perfect for a short or long term stay, small gatherings (no large events or loud/late parties please.) or in between moving, for short term work, whatever the reason you won't be disappointed. We have a 3 day minimum, and longer stays during holidays are expected. Yoga props available upon request as well as a crib with bottom sheet and comforter and a Pack-n-Play playpen - again, upon request.

"Hampton House" as we like to call it because it reminds us of the Hamptons but in California. It's prime position with ocean views and easy access to some of the best beaches in California that makes it the ideal location for Holiday day trips or work.

The house is decorated in a mid century modern style inside with a lot more character than your average hotel. More like a Boutique Hotel with style. Atmosphere is quiet with a minimum of traffic noise being on a not-a-through street.

The house has 6 bedrooms, 2 Cal King bedrooms, 2 Queen bedrooms and 2 further bedrooms with 4 twins between them and 4 bathrooms. Perfect for one large family or two families combined, small company gathering, etc...

Dog and children friendly with an X box and board games, smash ball and badminton in the rear yard with a modest sized grassy area for hours of family fun. You can see the sun rise from the hot tub in back most of the year.

3 Minute walk to the local shops with an Italian restaurant, liquor store with small Mexican cafe, vet, dry cleaning, pharmacy and a nail salon.

Just a 5 minute drive to one of the prettiest and most exclusive Malls in America. Palisades Village has quickly established itself as what Food & Wine describe as “L.A.’s star-studded instant sensation.” Situated in Southern California's sunny and stylish Pacific Palisades, this walkable village is home to numerous curated boutiques, entertainment and fresh-food experiences. Sephora, Saint Laurent, Anina Bing, Paige, Vince, Lulu lemon, Veronica Beard, Alno, ALC, Zimmerman, Brandy Melville, just to name a few high end retailers.

There are high class restaurants with bars and outdoor dining. Also home to the Bay Theatre showing the latest top flight theatrical films from Hollywood.
