Sitting on four green acres of property and 300 feet Lake Charlevoix frontage rests the Lake Charlevoix Family Resort. 3 houses; The farmhouse, guest house, Cabin and the solar powered zen garden in the back acreage. Perfect for your family retreat, reunion, or any group up to 18 people. Inquire for monthly discounts. .

The main farmhouse has four bedrooms two full baths and sleeps 10 people. The guest house Sleeping 4, with 2 upstairs bedrooms one full bath. The cabin sleeps 4 with plenty of room. Connected to the property in the back acreage is a solar powered Zen garden. This area includes a fire pit, hammock and 2 hammock swings, 1500 watt solar power capability, powering 1600 feet of LED lights and a cabana equipped with an outdoor surround sound stereo system.
A great space to relax and to be in your own quiet peaceful place away from the houses right out in nature. The perfect property for a larger gathering where everyone can be together, yet have your own space and privacy. Your 300’ Lake Charlevoix access is located just across Ferry road where you have access to 2 separate docks and 2 sun decks. One 16’x26’ sundeck at the main dock, and one 16’x12’ sundeck at the middle Dock. A mooring ball provided if you decide to bring your own boat.

Family Fun!

Host always available, beautiful property, beach rocky but clear water. Close to cute towns, lots of room, the Zen Garden a big hit! We’ll certainly come back!

It was a quick walk to the beach. Getting to the boat launch was quick. Its was a great time.

Nice accommodations

We really enjoyed our stay, Nate was great. able to have family stay together and was close to the event center for my son’s wedding. The zen garden area is really nice.

If you are looking for a rustic, eclectic place with lots of outdoor space, beds for 18 individual people, a great collection of vinyl records, minimal plans to cook during your stay, and easy access to the lake, this might be your place. But if you are looking for modern space with central air conditioning, a dishwasher, washer and dryer, good lighting, and a large dining space for your group, maybe keep searching.While Nate was very quick to respond to our needs (drinking water, more window units for the main and middle houses that only had one each for the upstairs of the main and the entire middle house), the heat in those spaces tainted the week for several of us. The oven in the guest cottage was unusable because it overheated and wouldn’t adjust. The claw foot tub in the main house was scary to use because it’s not flat and surrounded by curtains and nothing to grab if you slip. The property is pretty and we enjoyed the space, especially the beach. It’s very convenient to the ferry, which you can walk on for free to go across for a meal at The Landing. We’ve rented several times on VRBO and been lucky. This wasn’t really one of those times for us.

With the record heat index that week, along with the smoke from the wildfires across the Midwest and Canada, I was glad I was able to provide those additional window air conditioning units for your crew. While I do not offer a washer and dryer due to the property’s well and septic system—which is common for older farmhouses—I am always happy to provide extra towels and linens and can also arrange a midweek laundromat run if needed. I will address the guest house oven overheating, as the temperature calibration may need adjustment. Grab bars for the clawfoot tub can also be installed. I sincerely appreciate your feedback. It helps me continue improving the guest experience.

Great place for family vacation

Our family had a wonderful time staying here. Plenty of room indoors to accommodate 19 of us. Spent most of our time outdoors enjoying the expansive property. Nate was very accommodating when we had questions. Would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful Property

What an amazing place to stay! Spent the majority of our time outside enjoying the water and the grounds. Would definitely come back. Nate was fantastic to work with and very responsive. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful!

We have a great time! Beautiful location! Very clean and lots of space, both indoors and outdoors. The Zen garden was a special bonus. We are going to try to make our way back two years from now.

Great Family Vacation

Nate was a great host. Very responsive. Area was beautiful and his property was expansive. We rented all three houses. The volleyball net was great for the kids. Very short walk to the lake. Ferry to the Landing was also convenient.

Beyond expectations

This unique property was ideal for our 17 family members. Great location. We went to Petosky, Harbor Springs, Mackinac Island, and Traverse City. When we stayed home we enjoyed beautiful Lake Charlevoix on Nate’s lovely beach. We particularly liked the Zen Garden, playing croquet and roasting marshmallows in the fire pit. Nate is a fabulous host!

A dive back into the past

We had maximum occupancy. The children had so much to do outside with games we brought and bikes as well as lakefront. The houses are retro and appliances work. To be fair the bathroom showers are small but function. We were told well water and brought our own due to strong iron content . The mattresses need upgrading . Any issue was addressed ASAP by Nate. We only slept and fixed meals in the homes. We enjoyed each other and love being outside, the lakefront is a short walk but that was good so no one strayed into lake . We created many memories . Thanks Nate

It is very old! WiFi questionable. Big house was okay, loft house has very small spiral staircase to loft which is okay if you’re 12. Guest house should not be rented. Bathroom is SMALL. Read sit sideways on a rocking toilet. Shower questionable. Again, property is OLD. The sandy beach shown in the photos was not seen. Walk to beach across a busy street. Not close. Beach furniture is OLD. Zen garden is not close to houses, 10 minute walk. Didn’t use it. Nate responded quickly to request for firewood. A/C was a couple small window units that did blow some cool air but house got pretty hot. Docks were unsafe. Plumbing issues in two houses. Loft had major sewer gas issues. Faucet handles were broken. Well water is very rusty. No dishwasher or laundry. Grills also were OLD. Clothes in closets, game room locked. Dressers used for wallpaper storage. And clothes. Grounds were nice. It is possible for older homes and amenities to be pleasant if well maintained but that isn’t the case here. Porch stairs had no railing. If I had paid half as much I would be more accepting of conditions.

First off i’d like to thank you and your family for booking. In the listing I do state that it is a farmhouse. Yes it is old. Beautiful and historic. I also state that there are no dishwashers or washer and dryer due to the fact I am on a well and septic system. Well water is common up here on the lake. That’s why I provide bottled water for all my guests. It’s nice when the family can all get together and do dishes.. I grew up doing that with my family. Brings everyone together. I’m glad you took me up on my offer on taking your linens and towels to the laundromat mid week, as I do for all my guests if needed. WiFi is spotty in the middle guest house, yes, but the 2 main houses each have their own separate WiFi that works flawlessly. 5g also works great throughout the entire property and acreage including the zen garden… yes, a 5 minute walk down the manicured path through beautiful nature to get away from it all. How could you not love it back there with the lights, sound system, hammocks and swings in the trees? I’m sure the kids loved it. As far as sewer gas smell- That was never brought to my attention. I’ve never had septic issues. You and your family and friends are totally welcome back next year. Try out the zen garden, take a few breaths, relax and enjoy what the property has to offer.

Great Time

This property was great for our large group. 17 people fit just fine. Nate is an excellent host and always was available when help was needed. Property was well taken care of. Great location just off the lake. We would go again!!
