*NOTE* We Just opened the calendar for the month of August! These weeks will go quickly. This is a very rare opportunity so don’t wait to inquire. This exquisite and secluded waterfront property on 4.5 acres is minutes from the historic Gay Head cliffs and lighthouse and features a private path to a quiet beach. The house is spacious and modern, with 4 bedrooms opening onto large decks overlooking the water with a full view of the Elizabeth Islands, Vineyard Sound and spectacular sunsets, and a fifth bedroom with one full bed. You may decide to spend most of your time lounging on the comfortable outdoor furniture on the deck, drinking a glass of wine (or your preferred drink) and watching the sun set into the water.

The large kitchen is fully equipped and the dining area comfortably seats 12. The house is close to the beautiful Philbin Beach and the unique clay cliffs, and to Menemsha Pond, which is ideal for clamming, sailing, and is safe for toddlers and small children who delight in exploring its warm shallow water.

Fantastic home and an incredible outdoor living space / deck overlooking the Elizabeth Islands

The house exceeded all expectations. If you are looking to unplug and relax you will not be disappointed. Extremely well equipped, comfortable beds, tremendous water views and the sounds of the waves putting you to sleep this fits the bill.

Lovely experience

Location location location. Dramatic views.Great private beach. The house was clean and comfy. Any questions(which were few) were answered promptly by the host. Hope to come back to same property next year

This is our third year. The host is gracious and the house is very welcoming.Neat and tidy. Wonderful location with beautiful sunrises and sunsets. This year the Aurora borealis gave us an experience words can not describe. We wondered if the host was responsible for this show. You know it is special when the adults not the children ask if we can stay longer.Would highly recommend this lovely home as a place to stay.

couldn't have been better!

This trip was a girls trip for myself and my best friend of 35 years, and my 25 year old daughter and her best friend. This being our first trip to MV we really just guessed where to stay. Aquinnah was the perfect choice for a quiet and restful vacation. This home was absolutely LOVELY! The photos shown... like trying to capture a photo of a magnificent sunset... do not do this home justice. The view is unbeatable. The home beautiful , comfortable and perfectly designed to provide shared as well as private space. It was a wonderful and peaceful home base after exploring more populated and tourist parts of the island . None of us wanted to leave! And... We are already talking about making it an annual get together!

Truly Magical! Private Gem on the Water!

Wonderful property! We spent 10 days here in Oct & shared the house with several couples. We picked this spot because it is on the remote end of the island with less crowds & traffic. The house is clean & the bedrooms are very spacious. The kitchen is completely functional & has everything you need. Bring/buy your food , grill/cook & take in the amazing views from the large dining room table. Lots of space in this house! We made occasional runs to the Menemsha fish markets for fresh fare (about a 15 minute drive from the house). The house location is very secluded, private & dramatic. A wide back deck affords glorious views the Vineyard Sound & Elizabeth Islands. Step off the deck, walk 30 seconds down a path & arrive at the beach staircase. Below the stairs is a beautiful rocky beach & prime, outstanding fishing. We caught stripers & bluefish directly below the house, especially around sunset. If you want to swim, walk a few minutes right to Dog Fish Bar where it is very sandy. This location showcases nature at its best! From both the deck & the beach, we spotted large seals swimming parallel to shore about 75 yards away - a special treat! The seals were curious & looking at us when they came up for air. Great bird watching too. We hiked along the beach, turning left from the stairs, past the dramatic Aquinnah cliffs to Aquinnah beach, up the paths & back home along the road. This is a wonderful 4-ish mile loop that you won't want to miss - best to walk it at low tide. We absolutely LOVED our stay & can't wait to plan a return visit!

Perfect week

We had a spectacular week. Beautiful views from everywhere in the house, private beach is an unexpected bonus, and house has everything you want/need. Aquinnah is the perfect spot to relax and get away. We will certainly be back!

Amazing Vacation!

Amazing!

This is a wonderful home with breathtaking views. Everything was perfect - a gorgeous big living room that opens into a big deck overlooking the water. Wonderful kitchen. A short walk to a quiet beach. We enjoyed our stay immensely!

The view from your bed

There are so many amazing things I can say about this home- it is so spacious and comfortable- an amazing place to make memories. Every bedroom but one has an amazing ocean front view. Judy is a lovely host, the home has everything you need for a decadent vacation. My absolute favorite part was waking up every morning after sleeping under the most comfortable sheets to an ocean front view complete with seals and sandpipers. I highly recommend this home.

Beautiful Property for a Family Getaway

The property was absolutely beautiful for our family week away. It contained all that you may need with breathtaking views of the water. The seclusion was a refreshing getaway from the city. Judy was very communicative and was available for questions we had before and during our trip.

Splendid vacation home

We had a lovely 5 day vacation at this house on a bluff overlooking the ocean. It's a quiet spot, perfect for those that like to relax and take in the fresh air and view.

After spending their honeymoon on Martha's Vineyard in 1956 and falling in love with the island (in addition to each other), my parents rented various homes in Chilmark for many years. In 1968, they bought land in Aquinnah (known as Gay Head back then) and built the house. It has been renovated and updated a number of times since then, and is a very special place.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

There is nothing better than sitting on the deck in the early evening, watching the sun set over the water - especially after a day at the beach, a bike ride to Menemsha via the bike ferry, a walk around the cliffs to the ocean side, or a trip to town. It could not be more relaxing and rejuvenating.
