Wildlife abounds in the area. Canoeing and rafting trips down the easy-moving Meramce River, Huzzah Creek, or Curtios Creek are just a short distance from the cottage.Rent a horse from a local Trail riding Outfitter nearby and take a ride through the Ozark Mountains. Hinch Creek Farm is a working farm. Interact with the goats. Pick Black berries or help collect Maple sap for Maple syrup in season. Or just sit around your campfire and watch the stars.There are caves to explore, trails to hike, wineries and vineyards to visit, and many more surprises in this area. If you're looking for a quiet place to get away from the crowds, or a comfortable base for your outdoor activities, you'll find it here! Experience all the seasons at Hinch Creek Cottages. From the freshness of spring, through the sunny days of summer, the glorious colors of autumn and into the quiet peaceful days of winter, we are here and waiting for your next visit! No pets allowed. NOTE: We are located on a rural gravel road. If your vehicle is very low riding please be careful.

We had a wonderful time in this cottage, getting away from busy city life. We kayaked two days on the Meramec River which is very close. Nora and Sam were excellent hosts and I enjoyed hearing the story of this cabin and others on site (property in the family for over 80 years!) Petting the goats was another treat! The driveway was a little rough, but the gravel road was easy. We ate our meals outside at the table, and enjoyed a fire and the stars at night. The only problem was we forgot my suitcase and pillow! Make sure it's in your car...and not discover it when you get here.

Any car but a truck will scrape on the bottom so beware if you drive anything besides that. It’s about a 2 mile drive on gravel road. Mosquitos outside are large swarms so bring spray. The towels smelled like cigarettes despite their no smoking policy and there are no washers on site. When contacted, the host was very rude and said this was not possible, even though I have a voicemail of him telling his wife to forget the towels and worry about the linens after my reservation had “slipped through the cracks.” The goats are on the owners property, not visible from house. The house itself was nice, and is very close to Huzzah conservation site and plenty of places in the Meremac to swim. Just make sure to grab your groceries beforehand as Walmart is a thirty minute drive away. The photo is from the bottom of the very steep driveway! Nice area with a couple of downsides!

Great Place to Disconnect

This is a great little cabin to disconnect at! The road is a little rough - glad we brought the truck and not the Prius. House had everything we needed. Almost zero cell service - so keep that in mind if you need service. We could send out messages occasionally in certain spots. Get your map in and out with screenshots before you head out!

Great place for a staycation

House was clean. Has a rustic old time charm to it. A good place to get away from all the electronics in the world. There was very random phone service in the area. Good thing to warn your children if they live on the phone. A nice creek was nearby and was relaxing to check out. The river access nearby does not have a gravel bar but makes for a great fishing spot.

Peaceful, remote cabin

Very comfortable and cozy. The hosts were very welcoming and checked with us to see whether we needed anything. There is a charcoal grill and fire pit out front. The goats are really cute and freindly. The road was in good condition, but can be impassible when the water is high. About 40 minutes to the Merimac Caverns.

Great place to in-plug

The cabin was in a great area surrounded by nature on the side of a mountain. There was no internet or cell service, but there was cable so we were able to watch the NBA playoffs without the distractions of our phones. The roads are very rough on the way to the cabin

Are you country enough?

The owners are quite nice and friendly. The road in is not for the faint of heart nor for those without an SUV. Of course the owners have no control over this but the ticks were absolutely horrible. Even with spray and careful inspection we dealt with many many many ticks! My only complaint about the house was that the twin bed mattress and foldable frame were in very poor condition.

Beautiful View

This house was very cozy, clean and comfortable. For me and 3 of my adult daughters, it was perfect. The view was gorgeous. One issue, a small map of the roads would have been nice because the roads are not marked. Had some trouble finding places and there is no cell reception for gps. But 5 out of 5 stars!!!

Little hidden cottage

Very well kept nice place a little hard to find . secluded no phone service or wifi We lost power do to the storm that knocked out power for 4000 ppl We made do w what we were given.

Very basic cabin. Clean and comfy. The shower pressure is awful so they may want to change the shower head. We had a really great time! We spent the day at Blue Springs creek whic is pretty close.

Girls’ weekend

We had a great time at the property. It was so nice to disconnect from the world. It was a beautiful area but definitely an adventure to get there. We loved it & will probably be back.

Amazing secluded cabin!

The check in was very easy and the owners were very responsive to messages. The property was clean and had everything we needed for a weekend away! The cabin offers great privacy as it's surrounded by trees! It's really close to river access for the Meramec or Blue Springs creek. We can't wait to go back.

Great getaway!

We celebrated our daughter’s 16th birthday with a weekend at this Hinch Creek cabin and had a wonderful time. Great little cabin equipped with almost everything you’ll need besides your clothes and food. Clean with a classic country feel. We’d love to come back!
