Ackwood Cottage was a great vacation.

My husband and I spent 6.5 weeks and had a quiet and peaceful time. The cottage was comfortable and clean. Adam responded in a very timely manner to our questions. We have already booked it for 6.5 weeks next year.

Great time at The Cottage

We enjoyed our stay at The Cottage and hope to be back!! The Cottage was very clean, well appointed kitchen, remodelwd bathroom, very comfortable king sized bed (and queen size in same room). The window ac unit in living room was a big plus since it was close to 90 degrees. The boat dock worked out perfectly ...great location near restaurants and close to Hayward. Great communication with host. Thanks so much for a great.time in the Northwoods!

Family Reunion

Great property for our semi-annual family reunion of about 40 people including babies! We've been doing this here for many years and plan on coming back, if we can afford it. With a one week stay required, and the rates jumping a lot this year and more next year quite of few are finding it hard to afford.

Brian is a great guest that we'll welcome back again! His family left our property in great condition and took care of every little thing in the Lodge. They were a delight to host. As an option to save money, consider our dates in early June or late August. Memorial Day weekend could be fun too!

Enjoyable week!

We were looking for a place that had a dock that we could use to be able to jump into boat at anytime. This place allowed that. We loved that convenience. The place is rustic so be prepared for not everything to be pristine. It's a big cabin such that the couch in the living room was huge, comfortable. The floor is concrete in that room, but has a rug. You don't feel like you are going to hurt anything when unloading, but it is still comfortable. The kitchen had all the accoutraments needed to cook all meals. But it is sort of a dark room that the light is needed most times. Not a show stopper. We didn't find a toaster or a corkscrew. Not deal breakers for us. The bedroom was also large, carpeted, mattress super comfortable and a king. The bathroom seems recently remodeled and was in good shape. We worked while staying for the week and made our desks on the table in the living room which worked out well. There is a table in the kitchen, but it holds the coffee maker and microwave. Lastly, we like there was a full washer/dryer. Super convenient. Thanks to owner Adam for being so attentive when we had questions. He was very responsive.

Wkend

Very cozy cabin feel for a wkend of ice fishing. Plenty of space for 2 people, on and close to many lakes.

Ackwood cabin

Good cabin, steep incline to lake. Good pier, but will only hold one boat. Needs some cooking utensils, like 8" fry pan w/lid, mixing bowls, and liquid measuring cup.

Fisherman's Cabin

We were looking for a place to stay for a week fishing. There was plenty of room and the a/c kept the property comfortable. Appliances were very good but the microwave could be upgraded. Easy walk to the dock for fishing and the water depth at dock was perfect for our boat. Plenty of space and dumpsters on the property were great for keeping cottage clean.

Nice little place to stay close to Hayward.

My husband and I had a great stay for Birkie weekend. The cottage was cozy and had everything we needed. Adam was a great host—lots of communication and very helpful.
