Cute As A Bug Cottage On The Shores of Big Manistique Lake

Our 'Cozy Cottage' is the quintessential UP knotty pine cottage. Quaint and cozy and right on the east shore of Big Manistique Lake, It's the perfect place to enjoy all that Michigan's 4 seasons have to offer. Cozy Cottage is centrally located in the eastern UP so many of the favorite attractions are within an hours drive.

If you're just looking for a place to relax and enjoy the lake, Cozy Cottage has a lakefront deck with ample seating, an outdoor table for dining, and a gas BBQ. There is a fire pit just feet from the shoreline for spectacular sunset views, and there is a stone fireplace inside.

Cozy Cottage has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The cottage has a well equipped kitchen that includes a coffee pot, toaster, crock pot, air fryer, griddle and Ninja blender. We have a Reverse Osmosis drinking water system so you don't need to buy bottled water. Full dinnerware is supplied. The spacious dining room seats 6. All bed linens and bath towels are provided as well as all paper products. You will need to bring your own beach towels.
We have the Highline Fiber Optics so you’ll have excellent TV viewing in the living room and both bedrooms, and great WIFI for your phones and computers.

We have a dock if you're bringing a boat and we are only 500 feet away from a public launch. Our lot is private to the road and there is space to park your trailers behind the garage. We have 3 kayaks available for guest use and we provide the lifejackets. There are 2 tubs of kiddie beach toys too!

If you're visiting in the winter, there is a lean to off the garage for your snow machines. Groomed trails are just a few miles away. Ice fishing is right outside your door and dog sledding is available near Newberry!

We love our Cozy Cottage and have vacationed here ourselves before we bought it. We hope you will love it too!

Cozy just like the description

Very clean and cozy. One of the most stocked cabins we’ve stayed at. We stayed in February and the lake view was magnificent. Lots to do in the area if you're adventurous. This one will be on our summer vacation lists.

Lovely cabin, great location & very clean!

My husband, myself, and our two boys (ages 2 & 4) absolutely loved our stay at Cute As A Bug Cottage. The cabin was very clean, very comfortable, and had everything you could need! The view of Lake Manistique out the back sliding door was beautiful-especially the sunsets! We enjoyed seeing the snowmobilers ride across the frozen lake and the ice-fishers. The cabin is located is a wonderful location, in the little town of Curtis. There are plenty of small convenience stores located nearby to grab whatever you might need for your stay. We just loved our stay and how relaxing the UP is. We enjoyed dog sledding and visiting the snowmobile museum too! I highly recommend staying at this lovely cabin! We hope to come back soon! P.S. Make sure you bring slippers if you are staying here in the winter as the floors are very cold!! :)

Beautiful Quiet Cottage

This is our 4th time staying at the cozy cottage and we just love it here. The property is beautifully maintained and located lakefront. It’s our favorite place to just come and relax.

Quick Fall Trip

We fell in love with the Cozy Cottage last year so we decided to do a repeat trip this fall and it was another great visit. The Cozy Cottage is clean, comfortable, and very well equipped. The lake and the sunsets were beautiful not to mention the ducks and loons that we saw on rhe lake. Thanky you for a wonderful time.

Perfect Cozy Retreat!

This was our family's second stay at the Cozy Cottage and it was another great experience. I love the location as it is central to many UP attractions. The lake is so beautiful and peaceful, and the kids love swimming in it. The cabin itself is very clean and welcoming, and incredibly well-stocked...had everything we needed! Hope to be back again in the future!

Bucket list trip

Cozy cottage

We had a great time at the cozy cottage! The kids loved swimming in the lake and roasting marshmallows in the evenings. The cottage was well equipped with everything we needed.

Lovely cottage!

We had an absolutely lovely stay at the cottage and cannot wait to go back in the future. The cottage was clean and beautifully kept - and larger than we expected too. The hosts have thought of everything, and they are super responsive if you have any questions. I would recommend this cottage to everyone!

Coziest of cottages

Cozy Cottage is a gem! It is a perfect place to relax and use as "home base" for sight seeing. Cozy Cottage is within 45 minutes to an hour of most of the Eastern UP Michigan hot spots; Whitefish Point, Pictured Rock, and Tahquamenon Falls just to name a few. Big Manistque Lake is beautiful and clean. The cottage sits just a few feet from the water and has a spacious dock. We did not bring our boat this trip but would like to in the future. Locals tell us the fishing is good and there is plenty of space for water sports. Mike and Diane have made sure the cottage is wonderfully set up with everything you need and them some. We would recommend it for couples or families.

Relaxing

We realxed on the back deck and cooked on the grill the view was awesome! Did som fishing caught some perch and had a frwat time.

Cozy cabin

There is more room than what we thought we would have. Everything we needed was already there for us to use and there was a really nice general store down the road for groceries. The Kayaks were a plus! Our kids found out that they enjoyed kayaking. It was great to have Pictured rocks and kitch-iti-kipi about an hour away from the cabin. I think if we stay here again we would rent a pontoon boat. The only negative thing I can come up with is the bathroom is a bit small but it’s better than bathing in the lake :) I would definitely stay here again! Thank you for a great experience for me and my family.

Peaceful and Relaxing!

This property was perfect to relax and unwind from a hectic spring for me, my husband, and our grad school daughter. Location is excellent for days trips but the cottage was so nice we opted for several "go nowhere" days and skipped some sights. We never even turned on any of the TVs. Just listened to the waves, watched sunsets, went kayaking,read and watched stars. The hosts have so many thoughtful touches and supplies- I have never been to a vacation home so well supplied. We didn't need to bring half the stuff we did because they already had thought of it for you! We loved the little touches like the hummingbird feeder and so many hooks to keep your stuff organized! Furniture was very comfortable! Wish it was closer to us for we would go every year!

Quiet and peaceful. Within 45min of easy access of plenty of thing to do and see. Boat rental just a few miles down the road if you’d like to take one out for fishing!

Outstanding little cottage!

Perfect place to unwind !!

We fell in love with the Cozy Cottage 3 years ago and it's now our go to spot in the UP. Location is perfect for all kinds of sightseeing being just a short drive away. Good food nearby, and a well stocked kitchen if you want to save some money and do your own cooking. Living room is our favorite spot to relax with a wood-burning fireplace and gorgeous views of the lake complete with breath-taking sunsets. Owners are so easy to work with and truly care about their guests. Stay. You won't be disappointed!

Wonderful stay

Our stay at Cozy Cottage was amazing. The attention to detail from the owners is spot on. From the Eddie Bauer flannel sheet, warm blankets, and cream and sugar. There wasn’t anything out of place. I will recommend this property to everyone.
