Hi Judith. Glad you found the property and condo itself to your liking. Sorry about the check in process hurdle. As per the listing description: "This is a timeshare resort. You are not required to attend any resort timeshare selling meeting. This is not to say that you will not be invited to do so. If and when asked, simply say "No Thanks!"" The pressure to attend a timeshare presentation varies from salesman to salesman. I am sorry that these folks finagled their way thru your resistance. As stated in the listing, you are not required to attend any meeting of any kind. While you may have felt like you had no choice, a firm "No thanks!" said a few times would have bypassed this obstacle. In that you did not make a purchase at the end of the salespitch. had you been able to say that firm NO at the initial encounter, you could have bypassed the meeting. I am sorry about their deceptive practices. Not sure about cleaning and taking out the trash. During your stay, those tasks are the renter's. Typically, the condo is cleaned before and after your visit preferably with you removing the final trash as you leave. And yes, the keys are only presented to the person whose name is on the reservation. Had you known ahead of time that your friends would be the first to arrive, their name could have been placed on the reservation instead of yours which would have afforded them to receive the keys. Sorry for the frustrations your encountered. Larry

Hi Valerie. I typically request the top floor in a two-story building because they are quieter and offer a better view as you now know. As you experienced, you as a guest are free to request a lower floor which you actually received. Mission accomplished! A resort responding to your request . . . that's pretty good! While the resort has limited recourse over noisy neighbors, they will typically intervene and request that the noisy neighbors tone it down out of regard for other vacationers. For someone to say no we can't do anything is unacceptable and if I were you I would've taken it a step higher to see that some action was taken. Now the degree to which the noisy neighbors toned it down would be a tossup. I'm not speaking hypothetically. I have stayed at a resort on the lower floor where those above were too noisy late at night. The resort sent security to request that the noise be reduced. Twice! To be honest with you, what I had done for you in requesting an upper floor would've addressed your concerns had you been able to remain on that floor. I'm sorry that you are unable to do so in consideration of your family's need to be on a lower floor. In my more recent messages to Kingsgate guests I have conveyed to them that I've requested an upper floor in a two-story building where there are no elevators and invited them to request a lower floor if stairs are an issue. I hate those squeeky floors. Many resorts have concrete floors in their multi story buildings but sometimes the noise persists regardless of the construction and folks can sometimes be so inconsiderate. Afraid that's becoming the norm. Hope your next stay proves more pleasant. Larry
