We enjoyed our stay at Water's Edge. The house was clean and well supplied. Scenery was beautiful and all the younger people enjoyed kayaking on the lake. Thank you for the use of the kayaks.

A quiet and fun week

We loved our family stay at Water's Edge. The property was well apportioned with lots of activity, plenty of room to hangout, and the cove was quiet and a wonderful place to hangout by the water.

Fantastic Family Fun!

This house was perfect for our large family! We enjoyed 3 generations of family fun in the open floor plan, but still had plenty of quiet space in the private bedrooms!

No place like the Lake!

House was awesome! Right in the middle of everything going on around the lake. Great dock for our boat. Wonderful time had by my family and I!

Overall, the property was nice. The stairs down to the water are extremely steep and the cement walk and stairs at the water level are dangerous as the stairs are not full size and there is no railing.

Adventure at Water's Edge

Great property. All the comforts of home and more. Accommodated our group of 8 high school friends very well. Located in quiet cove a short way from Flat Hollow Marina which was convenient. Highly recommend.

Fabulous place to stay with family

Well-appointed vacation home was perfect for our family visit. We enjoyed boating, fishing, toasting marshmallows at the fire pit, and soaking in the hot tub. I loved cooking dinners for our large family to enjoy together in the spacious dining area. The property manager was immediately available to help us overcome a few unforeseen incidents. Highly recommend!

Long weekend getaway.

Fantastic place, just as described, plenty of room. Had one issue, called Tom, answered immediately and issue fixed. Parking is a hurdle to overcome.

OUTSTANDING!!!

The house is beautiful and in a perfect spot! We didn't get to get in the jacuzzi bc it was freezing cold outside but we did get to fish with provided fishing poles, had a bonfire by the fire pit, made smores with provided marshmallows and chocolate, had coffee every morning with provided keurig, watched dvds played board games Foosball, sat at the fire table and by the firplace, watched direct TV and slept like babies on the comfy mattress! My family and I are booking again for September for my daughter's birthday and plan to have just as great as an experience as this time! Tom and staff are so patient and answered 1000 questions before we even booked their property! Amazing cabin and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit!!

Lots of technical trouble

It was a beautiful place but we had electrical issues. The electricity went out for about 24hrs. It’s a long steep stair walk to the dock. The trash cans were full when we arrived. But the manager was very helpful and kind. Just had some issues with the place that was no one’s fault

Wonderful Family Vacation!

My family of 16 (4 generations!) stayed over a 4 day weekend and this house was perfect. We had 10 adults, 2 teens, and 4 littles, ages 2-4! We loved the open floor plan, and still had plenty of quiet space, including the 2 different outdoor decks, the firepit area, and in the private bedrooms. Upon our arrival, we had a couple of issues (our wifi wasn't working and the oven wasn't working), but we contacted Tom, who responded right away. My hubby had accidentally unplugged the wifi/router in the bedroom, and Tom replaced the entire stove/oven unit with a brand new one first thing in the morning. We all felt that he went out of his way to make sure that our stay was wonderful. We had gorgeous weather and a wonderful family vacation at this location! Thanks so much Tom!

Mostly positive

Very pleased with manager who addressed our minor issues rapidly and professionally. The thing I most liked about the property was the location. We were impressed with how well the kitchen itself was stocked with cooking pots and pans, dishes, silverware and all the stuff to run a full kitchen. The rooms were nice and comfortable. .The master bed was very comfortable. There were a lot of steps down to the very nice dock. Parking was very tight for four vehicles (3 suv and a small car). No land line telephone on properly for emergencies and our cell phones had no service (T-Mobile).

Thanks for coming - and fyi on phone service: phones should easily connect and do wi-fi calling thru the Starlink unlimited high speed. Parking for three oversized vehicles plus a car could be tight - but plenty of overflow at the marina, parking lot C, or the rental office any time.

Expected More

House was very clean, direct lake access with covered dock, Management/ owner was very responsive to all text, Harbor/boat ramp was very convenient just up the road. First impressions mean allot, driveway access very narrow and almost hidden, parking almost non-existent. When we approached the home all five trash cans where over-flowing and trash on top of them, contacted owner and he sent someone out to pick it up, who said he usually picks up on Saturday - this was Thursday. Inside living room rug was torn and frayed which kid tripped over, while stocking refrigerator door shelving cracked/broken, ice maker didn't work, choose this lake house over cheaper ones because it listed a hot tub - upon trying to use was not heating, needs repair and unusable. Manager offered another properties hot tub 4 doors down (not very convenient in 40 degree night temperatures with rain). Owner / Manager was advised and acknowledge all the listed defects via text messages. In farness, the parking issue is listed on property description and if this where all the issues we had our review would be much different. For the cost we had expected more, very disappointed for the amount of money property needs some TLC.

We did advise this guest of the hot tub issue and offered to switch them; and since that stay a brand new TEN person hot tub we purchased for another property project has been craned into place for the rest of the season ,and the great room rug removed. There is no other TLC needed - sorry you came at a time of transition on the hot tub and our trash guy had somehow not done an interim pick up - but we responded immediately with alternatives and options, and have replaced the broken shelf units in the refrig when ordered from recent breakage by a prior renter, and there is no issue with the ice maker - would have responded if that had been brought up but no mention was made. This guest also checked out with issues created by them, leaving us to file a damage report. We feel this is an unfair review, and welcome all future guests to please check the other reviews and come enjoy a great stay with us any time.

Waters Edge - Family reunion

Waters Edge was a great property for our 5 family reunion. Each family had a room and comfortably accommodated over 20 people with the addition of an occasional sleeping bag. The lower level deck was great and the hot tub did not disappoint. The location is easy to navigate too and the roads are very doable. There is limited parking (3 cars max). The steps to the lake are deceiving: 83 from the bottom floor of the house, 97 from the top. The dock is protected and good for swimming/floating, especially for small children. Access to the kayaks was nice, but 2 have holes in them and almost sank causing a real issue getting them out of the water. The proximity to neighboring docks/families slightly detracted from the family gathering. The dock is also not very big to allow a large group to just "hang out." The slip is also limiting related to height. Boats with a wake tower will not fit into it without taking down the tower (if possible). Getting to the main channel is easily a 10 minute (each way) non-wake producing ride which also takes time away from skiing/tubing. The listing notes a commercial ice maker and access to the lower closet with a separate code. Neither of those were accurate. Tom Strum's group manages many properties. When we asked about these two items, there was confusion as to which house we were in. That said, they were very receptive and quick to remove the rental boat that was occupying the slip when we arrived.

Pros/Cons

Pros: On the lake, fully stocked kitchen, plenty of games and movies, fire pit, linens and towels included, close to marina Cons: Gas grill only had 2 front burners that worked, upstairs AC didn’t work well at all, parking for 2 trucks (not 3 vehicles as stated)

Great Family Vacation Home

Overall, we had a great stay. The home was very clean and well kept. There was plenty of space throughout the home. The decks were very nice for entertaining. The stairs were the only difficult part for the little ones, however, we knew when booking that there were a lot of stairs. Also, being in partial mountains it is expected! The lake was beautiful! The kayaks were nice to use. We rented a boat for one day from the marina right down the road. It was a great experience. Definitely recommend for families looking to visit Tennessee.

Our Stay at Flat Hollow

Our family was glad to have the opportunity to be together during the week between Christmas and New Year. The house provided ample space to be together, both inside and out. The hot tub was a hit, and we had a great time around the fire pit roasting marshmallows one night! One challenge for those of us over 40 was the number of stairs and access to the boat dock, but being winter, we didn’t make the trek often. We were in contact with the host a few times and he was always very responsive. A real plus!

Beautiful house and Lake

Loved staying here at the Flat Hollow Marina. House was clean and decks cozy. Lake was beautiful. Wifi reception was a little spotty. But other than that a wonderful holiday!
