What a huge dissapointment

The room was not clean. The balcony glass was filthy and could hardly see through it. Holes in the door. Balcony looked like it had animal hair on it. MOLD in the bathroom sink. Cigarrette disposal on the balcony which i cleaned and disposed of in the trash.The bed linen was stained and im so glad i brought my own. The ac unit had enough dust on it to make anyone sick.Roaches in the room...really! My deposit was kept and i was accused of smoking in the room. I sent pictures of my complaints to vrbo and noone ever showed to clean the room so i had to do it myself. I feel like if i hadnt complained they wouldnt have kept my deposit but not like we can do anything about it. I have pictures of all my complaints but noway to upload them in my review. If you stay with these people this is what you get so you cant say you werent warned! Its amazing how far these condos in myrtle have fallin off. It use to be a decent place to go. That deposit was 150 which isnt that big of a deal to me so keep it and maybe you can clean the room properly on me.

Moldy and broken main bed

The smell of mold is VERY STRONG. I am allergic to mold. Bathroom had dried blood on the wall and tub. The door leading into the kitchen, someone punched a hole in the door. The main bed is broken and a board is pushing through the center and the left side of the bed is broke down. Almost as though someone was body slammed on the bedside. I was very disappointed and felt going through VRBO versus the hotel would have better outcome. We have stayed at many places in MB for over 20 years if not longer and this was ranked pretty low. I appreciate the upgraded appliances, but they does help the other situations. I do have pictures of the blood and door. I couldn’t figure out how to get the pictures of the bed. Someone has to lay on the left side and try to roll into the center and they will feel what I am speaking about. We were going to move to the Murphy bed, but when we pulled it down the mold was even stronger.

Dirty place

Honeymoon suite right! Walked in big hole in inside door and in the walls! Carpet was filthy. When you took a shower and walked on it feet were black! Bare minimum in kitchen. No paper towels and no dish rag to wash dishes with! Only watered down dish detergent! Towel for makeup when wet bled black water! Lazy river and 2 hot tubs were closed for 2 days. Balcony was full of sand. No broom to sweep it off.

Good property & clean. However we took our 8 month old & people were shooting fireworks on the beach which would wake him every night. It would be a perfect location for someone without young kids.

Good not great

Very unimpressed with the cleanliness of this place. When we arrived there were crumbs on the carpets and a lot of hair that was not ours. Carpets haven’t been properly washed in so long they were physically sticky and our feet were black within minutes. No dishwasher or sponge and 1 oz of dish soap, so you can imagine how dirty the dishes and silverware are. Bring paper/plastic of your own. For a full kitchen there was also only 2 very old and dirty pans, so our plans for cooking dinners went out the window. Furniture is all very old and torn up, also never properly cleaned with old food and dirt on everything. There’s holes in the doors with some of them a little patched over. I did contact the property manager right away with the cleanliness issues and she was quick to respond. We agreed on a cleaner arriving at 7:30, but she didn’t communicate this time to the cleaner, so the cleaner got there an hour early and woke our baby up from a nap. The balcony is nice overlooking the beach. The unit is on the 14th floor, so it’s a bit of a hike to get to the beach still. Pools and other amenities in the complex were fine, also not very clean and out-dated, but still nice to have. Property manager also wasn’t able to answer questions we had about beach tents ahead of time, but no big deal there. FYI at this part of the beach you can bring umbrellas and chairs (or rent them) but beach tents are not allowed. Wouldn’t stay again here, but reasonably priced and you get what you pay for

Very nice. Clean. location good.

Very nice. Weather was good. Tried some good food places. Cut our trip short. Got hurt on the beach, wave knocked me down. Lifeguards were great. Very thankful for their help. Maybe stay longer in the fall.

Disgusting

The room was dirty! Dust on everything we touched, we saw roaches coming from behind the refrigerator. Stayed out on the balcony most of the time to just not be in the room or we stayed gone. Worst experience and the pictures looked so amazing but it was nowhere near as beautiful as the pictures! Will not be staying here again!

Very nice.

Easy to find. Very nice for my husband and I. Very clean. So easy access to grocery store. Great view of the ocean. We enjoyed the sunrise from the balcony. The only issue wash hot water or the lack of it from time to time.

It was great

This was a solo trip for me. The condo was great the bed is comfortable the unit is on the very end so no neighbor and having 2 ocean views was great. It was exactly what I needed looking forward to staying here again.

Honeymoon suite is a really poor name for this room. Holes in the doors. Reminders all over the place that any little thing you did they could charge you for. Decor from 30 years ago. Bad neighborhood and insufficient property parking.View of water was amazing though!

Great place to stay

The place was nice, with multiple pools, bar/restaurants, great location, incredible views. The condo was clean, and the shower was great. We added an extra day to our stay, and it appeared they charged en extra “deposit” and didn’t communicate with the cleaning staff not to show up, so that was a little annoying.

Great 2nd Honeymoon

Check in was super easy, just went straight to our room typed in the code and that was it. We were on the end of the floor which was nice but we did hear a lot of commotion from our neighbors. (Not VRBO fault though) there was some mold in the kitchen but as my husband said we are at the beach and that happens. The bed was quite hard so we didn’t rest nearly as nicely as we would at home. It was very close to everything and convenient.

So nice !

This was our first vacation as a family of four. My husband, me, our two year old and one year old! The room was bigger than expected! Location was so convenient. We were within 10 minutes from everything we needed to keep our toddlers entertained! The pools, kid area, and beach is where we spent most of the time, they were great! The bed in the room was nice, everything was clean and organized! The towels are super fluffy and nice! The carpet could use some deep cleaning or replacing in the future but other than that, it was great and we would totally stay here again! Julie was so nice and checked in on us and made sure we got home safe, which was super sweet! The check in process was a dream! With 2 toddlers the last thing I wanted to do was wait in a line. Promptly at check in time, the code was emailed to us and we went right into the room with our kids and belongings!

We love compass cove !

Compass Cove Resort itself was wonderful as usual. Once receiving condo code 30 min after access was supposed to be granted and several calls and emails later, Room wasn’t the cleanest and had several lights burnt out but nothing that made our stay uncomfortable! End condo with an awesome view. Beds were comfortable and had more than enough toiletries, pots/pans and dishes. Murphy bed was nice to have for my son. We would stay here again. Thanks Big Fish Rentals!

Great location to stay

We booked VRBO for the first time ever for a planned vacay to myrtle. Julie was amazing and reached out st all the right times throughout our stay. Location is great and has great beach access and pools. $10 UBER and you are at the boardwalk and a awesome theme park. Cool things to do all within arms length away.
