Lake view was outstanding. The house totally accommodated the six adults and six children that we had. We absolutely loved the seating area upstairs in doors and out. The hammocks downstairs were a hit with the kids and the large tables to eat upstairs were a hit with the kids and adults. Trent was extremely very easy to contact. He replied promptly to the many questions that we had. Great house to stay in for a large group of people.Definitely would rent there again if we are headed that way Have rented many houses all over the country and I do have to say that Trent was the most responsive to all the questions we had

Communication with the host was timely. We had an issue with the internet and he worked with us to try to resolve. The house was awesome! The walk to the lake was short but a very steep hill with steps. Definitely not good for anyone with endurance, heart or other mobility issues. This lake is very busy and has large waves from boats and jet skis. The community pool is very nice and the local people friendly. Although coming from Ohio with a lot of deer, we have never experienced so many up close and personal! We love Norris Lake and had another wonderful week with my large family!

Great stay!

Our family had a wonderful week at Hemingway Point. Well stocked kitchen, property is as described. Comfortable beds, great layout and we lived the large dining table. Only downside was the rough waters down at the dock, no fault of the owners just a busy part of the lake. Thanks for a great stay!

Great place, even better location

The dock lets out into open water. Easy to do sports not far from "home." Enjoyable watching traffic meander past. Good location to get to a number of marinas and attractions.

Awesome Accommodation

This home is perfect for our extended family with several king bedrooms with ensuites along with additional bedrooms. We love the house layout & the large kitchen table to gather for meals. Truly enjoy the relaxing hot tub after a day in the sun!

Perfect for a family and/or friends

We loved our stay. It was exactly what we pictured. Trent was super easy to work with and would answer all my questions very fast. The house is perfect and we LOVED the hammock swings. Very relaxing. We will be back!

Wonderful House

Fabulous property. We had 11ppl and it was plenty of house and bathrooms. Pool table was a big hit. We had a great time. Only slight downside is that the dock is on a main part of the lake and it gets very wavy on the weekends. Make sure you have strong ropes for your boat.

Great stay for 3 families

We stayed here at the end of July with 6 adults and 7 kids. Plenty of room for everyone. Beds were comfortable and the kids loved the bunk room. House was clean and communication leading up to the trip was excellent. Location was great (3 min boatride to Shanghai Marina where we rented our boat). There was a lillypad at the dock that the kids really enjoyed. And we all loved relaxing in the hammock chairs.

Summer vacation

Second time at this property. Great location close to Shanghai. Great week. House is well stocked with all the dinnerware you need. Gas grill is great for cooking for large groups. House is very nice. Dock gets a little choppy when it is busy but it is expected in that spot. Close to the golf course is nice also.

Most delightful! FYI - Toaster didn't work. The large dining room/living room/kitchen was great for all of us to be together and the porches and bedrooms were positioned in a way that you could pull away for some quiet time alone. Beautiful setting on the lake with the mountains in the background! Absolutely beautiful!!

Beautiful home

Amazing place. It was very clean and comfortable. The trip to the dock was great, not too steep. Had all the appliances needed. Really enjoyed our stay. Could have used another pool stick. There was o Lu one. Maybe have a backup locked in a cabinet that housekeeping can put out. We also lived seeing all the deer

Beautiful house with lots of room

We had a great time and the house was beautiful. We enjoyed so much needed family time. It was clean and we love where located. There is plenty of room park your boat trailer house has a very nice dock and huge hot tub. Kitchen was well stocked, and the beds are comfortable. Our only complaint is there are zero bathroom towels and I did not see that listed. I also never received check out instructions.

Yearly family vacation

We have been coming to Norris Lake for over 30 years with our families. We love it at the lake. This home was one of the best layouts for our family. The kitchen was well stocked and we loved the large dining table. The only issue we had, was being on the point, there was a lot of boat traffic. Our docked boat got jostled around a lot and it was hard to swim or float off the dock. The house could use some spring cleaning, kitchen cabinets, window ledges, blinds, cold air ducts and the the outside deck table’s hadn’t been wiped off for a long time.

Perfect lakeside escape

Follow the winding mountain roads littered with lush gorgeous scenery! Nature everywhere! We saw countless deer on our drive to the house. Big deer! The pictures on the posting do not give this home justice. The views are lovely. Our bed was comfy and the home had everything we needed and more. I would love the opportunity to stay at this incredible home again! Trent made it effortless! We had a party of 15 and had plenty of room! Absolutely beautiful home that helped us make awesome memories. Thank you Trent for allowing us to create such a memorable time in the beautiful Hemingway Point.

Great place!

This property is wonderful! The house is large. We had 17 and never felt crowded. The beds are comfy. The kids loved the bunk room. The deck is large and had enough seating for all of us. Loved the Blackstone! Sadly, the icemaker in the fridge couldn't keep up so we had to buy ice frequently. Also the water line seems to dispense hot water.The waterway is pretty busy and created a lot of wake that the kids loved, but it was kind of rough on our little boat.All in all we'd stay here again. Very close to Shanghai resort and the jumping bridge. The roads are very windy getting to the house, which is typical for this area. The walk down to the dock wasn't horrible (great calf workout coming back up!). Sad to have to leave.

Family vacation

We loved our stay here at Norris Lake! Beds for everyone and the huge dining room table had enough seats for the whole family, which we’ve never gotten to do before! Many of the properties around had tons of stairs to get down to the water, this property has a slope with few stairs at the bottom. Overall it was easily accessible for everyone except our 86 year old Grandma, who did have trouble with the slope as it was steep at points. With some help she was able to make it down the hill to the dock and the water, but something to keep in mind that we didn’t necessarily anticipate. The kids loved the hammock chairs and the bunk room! Two fridges for all the fam needed for the week and good parking space in front of the house. Having the dock attached to the property was wonderful, we took our boat out multiple times every day! Thank you for a great stay!

Great House Poor Communication

The house was great although could use a deep clean. Several questions to property owner left unanswered including “where are flashlight or candles” during power outages - first lasted 5 hours second was at night so likely 4-5 hours. Batteries to fire alarms went off during power outage indicating no back up. Owner can’t help outage during storm - I get it. But could’ve used some sympathy and responsiveness.

Amy: Thank you for the review. We do appreciate the feedback for our cleaning folks. Secondly, it was an oversight on the flashlights and we have rectified that so that won’t happen again. Also, appreciate the communication comment. I try to be as responsive as possible. Though there was a massive storm that did result in over 10k outages in the area which resulted in the power outage. I apologize for the inconvenience. I did speak to the power company on your behalf and let you know what they said. The power was turned back on in 4 hours or so overall the power company did their best considering the circumstances. Again appreciate the feedback. -Trent

Lack of many things

Lack of amenities. Deerfield Resort not up to promo. Lack of games, only one working pool cue. Lack of door in master suite bath. Lack of bach towels. Lack of efficient heat/cool control. Some areas hot while others cold. Lack of information about home and area.

William: We do appreciate the feedback on the home. The house does however have two pocket doors on both upstairs master bathrooms. In the downstairs master bath, it has a working door as well. On July 30th, 2023 I sent our welcome packet that has extensive information about the lake and the area. In that packet it lays out that we do not provide towels to guest. We appreciate the review and will add a few more pool cue’s for future renters to enjoy. Trent
