Seashell Cove-5 Minutes Walk to Water

Enjoy some quiet time in this home located on the north end of Jamestown. Only 5 minutes’ walk will bring you to a beautiful local beach. Enjoy a quiet and peaceful stroll in the morning to catch the sunrise and in the evening for some beautiful sunset. The house consists of 3 bedrooms (1 king, 1 full, 2 twins, and 1 bonus twin bed), 2 baths, and well stocked kitchen. With a spacious deck in the back, enjoy some meals outdoor, sit and relax in the backyard to read a book, listen to the birds chirping, or feel the breeze. This home boasts nature at its best! While it is tucked in a quiet street, it is only a 10 minutes’ drive from Newport and a 15-20 minutes’ drive from Narragansett.

Seven nights minimum rental starting Mid-May to Mid-September.

Note: Our house is categorized as Contemporary with the kitchen, dining area, bathroom and 2 smaller bedrooms on the first floor. The spiral staircase leads to the living room/family room and master bedroom and master bath on the second floor.

We had a wonderful time in Rhode Island. Huyen was easy to communicate with. We took day trips around the area, go to Beavertail lighthouse for sunsets! Block island is beautiful. Make sure to go to Co-Dough if you like cinnamon rolls, although be prepared to wait. The house is in a perfect location to explore all that Rhode Island has to offer!

Very nice property. Loved the deck. Upstairs bedroom is spacious but does open to downstairs so maybe better for early birds to be upstairs. Great bathrooms. One note - the spiral staircase cuts into the room. We used a small pillow to avoid banging our head! :)

Seashell Cove was a great vacation in the middle of our graduation season. My family of 5 (3 adults, 1 teen, and 1 10 year old) had plenty of space. Everything we needed was provided, from cookware, toiletries, and bottled water. The property is so beautiful and conveniently close to the beach. The host was great and super responsive to our questions. A great, quiet retreat was exactly what we needed! Everything in the pictures is how it appears.

We stayed here for a long weekend to be closer for a family member getting married in Newport. Overall we had a good time but I have to be honest and be critical of a few things. The property was not 5 minutes from the water…I walked to the nearest water access with my daughter and it’s approximately a half-mile walk from the property…the VRBO map location makes it look closer…it is not. I’d say 7-10mins if you’re a speedy walker…it is by no means a “beach house” if that’s what you’re looking for. It was mentioned in the house-guide that the water smells different because it is well-water. We have well water at home and it smells the way it does (STRONG sulfur smell) because the owners don’t have a softener/filter and if they do it’s not working properly. This is not the norm for homes with well water. We also had a neighbors dog randomly running around and following us on the property at times, we’re dog people so it was fine but this was just odd. The kitchen was fine (we mostly cook on trips) but the stove is super outdated and a little rough to cook on. That all being said; the property was great for a few nights and comfortable, we’d probably consider staying here again. Owner communication was great so no shade on them, just think there’s a few things they could do to improve the property rather than just trying to explain why their water smells awful.

Thank you Nicholas for your review. We do have a filter in place as well as water softener for our well. We also have a well company that service our system and there was no indication that the system was not functioning properly. But to address our guests concern, we will have them come out and check again soon at their next availability. Regarding the dog, we are aware our neighbor just had a new puppy that is not fully trained yet. While he is super cute, we can understand it might be unexpected to our guests. Unfortunately, he does get excited seeing someone new and it is outside our control beside mentioning it to our neighbor.

It was the perfect house for 5 family members who came back to Newport, RI to celebrate the life of my brother where so many of the family had spent so much time together for many gatherings, weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, etc.

Great Stay

Seashell Cove was wonderful. Location was perfectly situated between Newport,Providence and Narragansett. Jamestown was also quite beautiful. The place was exactly as described and perfect for our trip.

Stay at Seashell Cove

We had a wonderful stay at Seashell Cove. It was a great home base for our Newport trip, we loved the outdoor seating area and fire ring. Huyen was great to communicate with, we would definitely return!

Loved this little house! Plenty of room for four girlfriends to hang out and be together or find cozy nooks to get some quiet time. Located at the end of the drive was a perfect setting only five minutes walking distance to the water. Beautiful sunrises!!! Jamestown itself was a sweet little town with some must sees. Driving time to Newport was under 30 minutes with so much to see and do. The house was well stocked and very comfortable beds. Great place to stay when you visit the area.

Lovely, clean and we'll furnished

We loved spending the weekend here for a family wedding in Jamestown. It was the perfect place for our family and although we didn't get to use all the amenities, it was nice to have them. We would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful stay. Short and sweet but it’s the perfect set up for 2 people. Grateful to have had the opportunity to stay here with a house that had plenty of amenities to offer, a beautiful back yard and fire place, and comfortable, clean, air conditioned house and bed.

Awesome outdoor space

Great stay! Super quiet neighborhood. Large enough for the 5 of us and we spent most of the week on the deck and around the fire pit. Coffee every morning on the deck with a family of deer. Reminded us of home. Close to our Marine and restaurants/ stores. Definitely would stay here again.

Perfect guest house for large or small groups

Stayed for a long weekend with friends and house was clean, tidy and full of amenities. Owners provided all essentials and more including snacks and toiletries. Looking forward to staying here again next year!

This property is fabulous! The cottage is quaint and had everything we needed! The walk to the beach was short and scenic---only about 5 minutes away. Great cottage I would recommend for anyone!
