Unique and comfortable

Enjoyed staying at So Shiny Porto VRBO. Spacious kitchen, living and dining room. Second bedroom and bath are actually in another structure across a nice private patio. Excellent location, we had a car and there was inexpensive street parking every time we returned. Also, conveniently located for getting in and out of Porto. I'm sure the owner is aware, but there has been considerable water damage to the kitchen floor and the second bathroom floor (warped and broken floorboards) - will have to correct that at some point. I got check-in details from the owner the day before we arrived as promised, but I would have liked to have more information ahead of time to ease my mind about check-in, including the exact address. That said, all was as expected and we greatly enjoyed the stay.

Cute place but needs tlc

Everything was ok/good. There was a hole in kitchen floor covered up by a runner. Could have been dangerous as we weren’t notified about it. Towels were stiff and mildewed smelling. No extra pillows or blankets and bedding needs to be replaced. It felt old. Lots of bugs in extra outside bedroom. Esmael was perfect as he was very helpful and courteous. He was the best part.

Nice but need some attention.

When we first walked into the apartment we were pleased overall but soon thereafter and as our stay continued, there were numerous discoveries that could be improved. Upon check in we found 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel for each guest. The towels weren’t completely dry to begin with and since there were no extras, they only got wetter from there. The significant water damage to the kitchen floor was a problem. Covering the loose floor board by the dishwasher with a rug created a trip hazard. More than a couple of times one of us turned our ankle or tripped. The courtyard was very dirty and had the distinct smell of animal waste. The cat(s) that have made it their home and pooped a couple of times right in front of the rear bedroom door which we had to remove. We were unable to use the courtyard due to this which was one of the features that we hopped to take advantage of. The rear/detached bedroom smelled musty and the lighting in the bathroom is inadequate. There appears to have been a leak in the ceiling directly over the bed. The sliding glass door on the rear/detached bedroom did not lock. A table would be very helpful in the back bedroom. The lack of lighting made it hard to function out of a suitcase on the floor. The shower pan in the rear bath was too short and water ran all over the floor. No extra towels made it hard to clean up. There is no WI-FI in the rear bedroom. On a positive note, the reservation process was great and the information provided was appreciated.

Porto stay

The apartment was very cute; the beds were comfortable; however there has been significant water damage to the floors which are a safety concern. They should be remedied. Also the separate bedroom has a very musty odor.
