Welcome to the Beach Hive, a Cape Cod style cottage just steps from public beach and boat ramp. Bring your own boat/canoe/kayak or use the 2 kayaks provided. Enjoy reading on the enclosed sun porch with ocean views, or maybe breakfast on the upper deck with sprawling views of Falmouth and Cape Cod. This cottage offers all the amenities of home with updated kitchen and bath. Plenty of outdoor living space provided with a screened in out building and large fenced in yard for games, relaxing naps, or s'mores over the fire pit. Minutes away from bike path, state beaches, shopping, dining out, local attractions. Family friendly.

Great time near the water

The property was one of, if not the best property we ever rented of VRBO. We had a great time on the water, and the house was clean, quiet and comfortable. Would definitely recommend, and would book again!

Perfect family getaway

The perfect family getaway just shy of the hustle and bustle of everyday life with charm, character, and comfortability you would hope for in a home. Outside accomodations to satisfy every level of relaxation and family gatherings. Inside personalization and updates make for a very quaint and warming stay. Despite the heat, we were comfortable with window unit air conditioners and steps away from the water. The second floor deck is beautiful in the morning before the heat and in the evenings as the sun is setting, with the breeze from the water. Close to all amenities for those you may have forgotten or for your preferences not available in the house. We absolutely recommend staying and look forward to be repeat visitors. 😁

3rd times a charm!

It keeps getting better at the Beach Hive! We absolutely loved all of the outdoor areas this year. The bar was so fun, we ate there every evening! Everything is always clean, the neighborhood is friendly, and the little beach at the end of the road has become a source of endless fun for our family!

Wonderful vacation, will come back!

If I could give 6stars I would. Besides the perfect location the house is amazing! Very cozy and homey. We are family of 5, traveling with 3 kids, and we had enough space. The backyard great, have a lot of space to run. We rye joined the BBQ and campfire. See you next year!

Great Little Cottage!

We all enjoyed our stay at The Beach Hive! It was exactly as the pictures depicted! Great property! Enjoyed the screened-in shed and sitting around the fire pit! Hope to come back soon!

Amazing Time

Our family stayed here for a week, and we really enjoyed the place! It’s well maintained (the main floor seems recently renovated), well equipped (dishwasher, laundry, etc.), and centrally located to just about all the places you’d want to visit (1hour to Cape Cope, and 45 minutes to Providence or Newport). I would highly recommend this cottage for small families, or even couples, looking to vacation in Massachusetts.

Summer Get Away

What a great little beach cottage, in a fantastic location. It is a beautiful area central to so many things to see. Nothing like the sound of waves and a ocean breeze to fall asleep to. Wonderful neighbors too.

All you need

The property was the best equipped we have stayed at over five years in the area. There was plenty of room for the whole family both inside and outside the house. The stairs were not an issue during our stay but you will have to duck going up and down.

Excellent stay

The hosts made us feel very welcome by having a well-equipped house and kitchen (we like to cook) and by providing good written instructions on where to find things in the house. We even lucked out and received from the neighbour a few dozens clams freshly harvested that day which we steamed and had a great feast! We also enjoyed cycling from the house to a public Beach ( approx. 10K round trip) at the end of the neck, a small town/area called West Island. You can access the island by car, by boat or bicycle. While in Fairhaven, we also visited the Whaling Museum in New Bedford. It is approximately a 15 minutes drive. We were very much impressed by the quality of the exhibits and the story the museum tells. It is a must if you stay in the area of Fairhaven/New Bedford. We did a few day trips – Cape Cod, Newport Vineyards, Fort – but really enjoyed coming back to the Hive to enjoy the premises and take advantage of the relaxing slow pace.

Great little beach cottage on Sconticut Neck!

Lovely Cape Cod Cottage

Paula is a lovely host, very responsive and courteous. We have booked several dates here from now into next year. Highly recommend booking this cottage. The cottage is kept clean and has everything you will need to feel like you are at home. The views of Cape Cod are wonderful day and night.

Vacation at the Beach Hive

We had a wonderful time. The house is charming and has everything we could want and more! Paula was very responsive and the property is as described. I enjoyed my cup of tea in the morning on the balcony and reading in the she-shed. We were also able to launch our jet ski at the boat ramp and enjoyed all the indoor and outdoor space.

Visit to Family

The property was easy to find and conveniently located for the purposes of our visit to the area. We arrived to find the property cleaned and well organized with sufficient utensils etc. The fresh decoration was appealing. However, for our needs, we made a poor choice given the layout and difficult to navigate stairwell. The challenges were such that overall our visit was unpleasant and we regretted our choice soon after arrival. My wife has Parkinson's disease and although she is able to use stairs in out residence, the rise on the portion of the staircase not visible in any interior photographs of the property was sufficiently greater than at our home such that it was very difficult and excessively challenging for her to use. In addition, the stairwell warning to "duck", although perhaps cute in a quirky older home, was the first indication that a person of average height might want to exercise caution, especially in darkness, when moving up or down the stairs. I have to wonder if the local building codes permit such a substantial stair rise and such minimal head clearance. It strikes me as dangerous and particularly if illness or injury required professional assistance to carry someone out of a second floor bedroom. The VRBO descriptions of the property offer no disclosures regarding the stairs or stairwell and didn't otherwise suggest that persons with mobility challenges might not be appropriate tenants/occupants. We cut our visit short by several days. I contacted the owner to advise her of our decision to vacate before our scheduled contract date but did not inform her of the specific difficulties we were having. We certainly recognize our responsibility to make wise choices given my wife's health challenges but frankly it never occurred to us that second floor access could be so difficult; that the stair rise would be appropriate for giants and the stairwell designed for little people.

Great Vacation Cottage

Vacation/HS graduation

My son graduated from HS and we had family come from Kansas. I needed a place for 2 adults and 2 kids under the age of 15 to stay with enough room to stretch out! The Beach hive was perfect. Close to my home, the beach, local attractions (although we didn’t have much time to check them out on this visit), stores for grocery / supply runs and easy enough for them to get to after the long drive from Kansas. Everything was as described. We all enjoyed our stay at the beach hive!!

Cozy cottage

Beautiful well maintained cottage. Very clean property. Ample backyard space and also enclosed sitting area in the lawn. We enjoyed the well stocked kitchen and the comfort of sunroom and the view of sea from the open deck upstairs. Safe and very kids friendly too.

Greetings. I grew up in Fairhaven, Ma and currently live a few miles away in Dartmouth. It was always a dream of mine to own a beach cottage. It took my husband and myself over five years to find the perfect spot. It is with great pleasure to share this property with you. I hope you find your stay to be memorable.

This property is in the perfect location. The quiet beach is great for reading, sunbathing, swimming, kayaking, and shell collecting. Not a swimmer, just relaxing on the beach watching the boats launch, or looking at the spectacular view of Falmouth is the perfect way to unwind.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

The town of Fairhaven is rich in history. The architecture of the town buildings built by Henry Huttleston Rodgers are not to be missed. Be sure to sign up for one of the free walking tours provided by the town to learn more. Neighboring New Bedford is well known as the Whaling City and the book Moby Dick takes place in New Bedford. Just an hours ride north would get you to Boston and just an hour east will get you to Cape Cod.
