Experience Alaska year-round! Enjoy snowmachining and ice fishing in winter, or head to Hatcher Pass in summer for stunning views and gold panning. This cozy forest home is a perfect basecamp—just 30 minutes from Wasilla’s dining and shopping, and great for day trips to Denali. The home is heated with a reliable system built for Alaska’s winters. Just a heads-up: Being a bit off the grid, short power outages can happen (usually 1–3 hours). I respond quickly if there’s ever a longer one. The house is equipped with safety lighting and winter-ready features. WiFi is available but speeds may be limited.

Great stay in Willow!

Nice place for our short stay in Willow. Property Manager (JR) was fantastic to work with...great communication and tried to ensure all our needs were met prior to arrival.

very clean, easy to access, quite neighborhood

cabin was very clean, it is easy to access of the highway, neighborhood is extremely quite, situated nicely between Denali and Anchorage, recommend as a place to consider staying in, Jerry is easy to reach is you have any questions, and he is easy to work with, we enjoyed our stay

The term RUSTIC needs to be written all over this place. RUSTIC, as in, don't bring your wife unless she is VERY OUTDOORSY. Well water for your water in the sinks and shower. Well water stains on each bathtub and shower enclosure BAD. Bugs, but its Alaska so not too bad there. Holes in the floor in the living room, or at least you can call them very SOFT SPOTS. Like your heel, as in boots or sneakers, not high heels go through the flooring into the holes. Didn't feel like I was going to fall through, but there were holes in the living room in the main walkway from the front door to the bedrooms. Open water line in front of the enclosed shower, exposed electrical lines in the laundry room, very small vanity in one bathroom but it stuck out into the doorway a good 5-6" INTO the very small door. VERY tight using one of the bathroom toilets and tight getting into the shower enclosure. Just looks and feels like a weekend warrior did some "fix ups, or expansions, or additions" and did a mediocre job.

Rustic??, I guess you never lived in an Alaskan native village where 5gal buckets was the bathroom, then have to haul it out, then go to the river to get more water to use. That’s rustic buddy. MC Cable (exposed wiring as you call it) has been code legal for over ten years. I noticed you forgot to mention the very large main bath or the kitchen you can turn a small car around in. The bathroom that you’re super focused on is the .75 bath for one of the bedrooms. That is clearly posted in the listing with pictures. Well water ? Oh dear let my heart be still at the thought. You go to Willow, Ak and expect big city services? You experienced a soft spot on the floor? Did you think to contact me the host about it? Nope you decided on your own to not tell me and stay in this rustic place for the whole time. Not one word from you. Maybe next time talk to your host and let them know. Then if ignored or not taken seriously then such a review is deserved. I didn’t deserve to be stabbed in the back like this. Why? Because a few small problems you don’t like. I am sorry you needed a place to take your life’s frustrations out on. What a childish way to deal with a few small problems. Be an adult next time you stay somewhere and let the host know about your issues. Go to the gym and take your frustrations out there.

Very well equipped kitchen and no problem staying with my Great Dane. Had a small issue where the previous guest had taken a smoke detector off the wall and stashed it in the laundry room. The owner was very helpful with coming over and helping me track it down.

Willow, Alaska vacation

We had a very nice time at this house for two weeks. It had plenty of room and everything we needed. Nice area to walk around. Jerry was great. Answered right away to any questions we had. Not far to Wasilla or Talkeetna. Would stay there again and would recommend.

Willow

Very nice property. Home owner was very prompt to get back with us when we messaged. We had a great stay. A friend of ours bought a place in Willow and unknowingly this rental was right across the street from his, so needless to say it made for a great visit. Got a glimpse of Denali from right in front of the hardware store in town. It is also close to a lake.

Celebrating wedding and first birthday

Description in ad, location, facility itself were all just as described and just as we wanted. The only negatives were more extra blankets and towels and washcloths would have been welcome. Having 2 beds, 2 baths was a great big extra. Kitchen had plenty of dishes/appliances.

Appreciate your review. Appreciate your message you sent as well giving a list of the items that need attention. We will be providing a drive in video to remove the issue with finding the location. Maps have proven to be unreliable. Sorry you were that disappointed with the place. We will be sure to have the improvements in place.

June 2021 stay

Easy to rent. Decent price. Good location. When we arrived, we discovered only 1 roll of toilet paper in master bathroom. None in main bathroom. Contacted JD and he was very apologetic. Delivered a package immediately. Everything pretty clean except oven. That was too dirty to use. Clean bedding and linens. Kitchen well equipped with dishes, utensils, pots, appliances.

Annual 4th of July Adventure w/Grandkiddos

Very comfortable property and room for all of us to sit and eat together as well as play together. The three dogs loved the huge front yard and had a blast running around. Nice firepit outside to sit around and enjoy each other every night roasting marshmellows! The property was very close to as listed. The only exception was that it is two streets over from the lake so not really a "cabin on the lake". Took us 2 days to find the lake; I would recommend a little walking map so others find it easier. It was great to have two bathrooms. The drawback on those was there was no hot water in the small bathroom connected to the purple bedroom.

We will follow up on the bathroom issue and see what’s going on. We will take your advice and see about adding a map to make the lake entrance easier to find. It’s surrounded by private property so I can see why you maybe had issues finding it. Just to avoid misunderstandings I never listed the property as by the lake. The property is near the Iditarod start which is really neat. Anyways I appreciate your stay.

Comfy, Cozy Family Retreat

We stayed 2 weeks and will stay here again. Our host was great at communicating and easy to reach. The home is full of personal touches for comfort. Soft, cozy throw blankets and pillows, hot chocolate, coffee & tea provided. Kitchen was stocked with basic supplies as well as laundry detergent and bathroom personal hygiene products. They offer a boot dryer and hooks by the heater for cold weather gear. The drive was plowed early morning after a big snow fall, so we didn't have to wait to leave. The beds had warmers on them for cozy nights. They offer several toys and books for younger kids as well as soppy cups and even hooded bath towels. The outdoor space offered a fire pit, grill and picnic table. TV, internet and security system as well as full laundry room offers all the conveniences you hope for. The large open floor plan is ideal for family. The neighborhood is lovely and surrounds a lake. A convenience store and pizza shop are close by as well as a community center. We will be recommending this home to all our family and friends who visit Alaska.

Nice cabin, lots of extras

We really enjoyed our stay. There were a lot of extras that other rentals don't think about. The owners had extra things for people traveling with kids, extra items for cooking. Extra shampoos, personal hygiene items. We enjoyed being out in the woods but not too far from the main road. Loved the location for fishing. There was a nice fire pit. There was even a boot dryer. Close to nice rivers to fish.

A Little Bit of Paradise !!!

The Chateau was a perfect place to stay . It was very clean, very nicely furnished ,extremely comfortable . The scenery around was absolutely beautiful ! The owner was exceptional , could not of asked for anyone any nicer , helpful , or more thoughtful to us and our needs , Would love to stay there again. It was perfect.! In fact, we will be staying there again. Couldn't have been more perfect Thank you

Classic Alaska Rental Property

It had everything we needed for a work trip. Having the amenities of home made it much more practical than in another type of vacation rental.

Por qué eligió esta propiedad

I like this unit especially for its layout. Large vaulted space in the living room and all the wood. Its an amazing set up. The kitchen is really open and inviting. It's very close to the Amazing Hatchers pass and the start of the Iditarod is literally minutes away on foot. It's also close to the highway making it easy to get to on maintained roads. The lakes give access to ice fishing and endless snow machining. Summer they provide all the boating, kayaking, etc. you could ever want. Wildlife is always around to view and be careful of.

All my properties are Green operated. I operate and distribute my own heating fuel made by me in my Bioplant. It produces 100gal a day and really helps reduce waste and I will continue introducing new processes soon to further that agenda.
