Peaceful Vermont Mountain Retreat on 10 Beautiful Acres

Private, peaceful mountain retreat with pond and brook on 10 beautiful acres at the base of Bald Mountain in the heart of the Mad River Valley. Two miles from route 100B. Perfect location for a family Summer, Fall or Winter vacation. Our house will accommodate 5 adults. We have two double beds and one single. Enjoy x-country skiing, snowshoeing, or back country skiing in the winter. Hiking, swimming, bicycling, and/or kayaking in the Summer. 2 miles from Moretown Village and the Mad River on route 100B; 20 minutes to Mad River Glen or Sugarbush; 45 minutes to Stowe. Well behaved pets of responsible owners are welcome.

We do not rent to vacationing students or singles under age 25. Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of payment and will not be permitted to check-in.

Plowing is included in the event of significant snowfall (4" or more). No refunds will be given for storms. Mountain roads can be curvy and steep. The roads are well maintained, however we highly recommend snow tires, four wheel drive and/or chains during the snow months, and caution that mud season (typically anytime from March to April) can be difficult to navigate without 4-wheel drive or sufficient clearance. We do not refund due to road conditions.

We always have a wonderful time here- it is clean and cozy, with lots to explore on the property. It’s close to many local attractions, and has lovely cow neighbors to watch throughout the day. This is our 4th or 5th time here, and we will definitely be back!

We had an amazing stay at this beautiful property. The host was very helpful and accommodating and the property was exactly as described. It is such a peaceful property with a fully stocked kitchen to cook or grill and plenty of space to rest and relax. Highly recommend!

Peaceful, quiet, comfortable home providing great indoor and outdoor spaces we enjoyed. Our family of 4 adults and 2 dogs found it offered everything we needed. Being a summer escape for us we spent a lot of time outdoors including a hike up Camels Hump not too far away. Using the grill and outdoor deck was perfect for our stay. Kitchen was well equipped, bedrooms very accommodating. Dogs were beyond happy with all the land to explore.

This is such an amazing house, central to lots of things to do/see/eat. The stream and pond in the yard are so relaxing, and the house itself is well-decorated and well-stocked. We always love our stay here, and hope to return soon!

This place was perfect Vermont get away for me and my family. It was especially nice being away from any busy roads for my dog who loved the pond and the stream on the property. Also really cool you can see cows from neighboring farm right out the living room windows the kids loved it.

We love staying at Caroline and Mike’s place! This is our third time here, and we’ll be back for sure! It is easily located to lots of things, but peaceful and serene with so much to do on the property itself. The house is so cute, well decorated, and a great layout. 1000% recommend a stay here!

The house was perfect for us! Such a nice home on a beautiful property! The host was wonderful and responded very quickly to messages. Our family is 4 (plus our little dog, Harley) enjoyed our stay! The sledding hill behind the barn was an added bonus! We had many laughs! A much needed family getaway while our kids were home from college on winter break. We are looking forward to returning!

We had a great stay! You could tell this was a well-loved family home. It had character and a peaceful, welcoming feel. The property itself was beautiful, with lots of wildlife and quiet scenery to enjoy. The hosts were pleasant and easy to communicate with, providing plenty of recommendations for attractions and restaurants in the area. Overall, a very relaxing and memorable experience. We'd certainly stay again!

We had a great stay at Mike's house. We came up for a long ski weekend with college-aged kids, and everyone loved the house, the wood stove, comfortable beds, thoughtful design, mid-century style furnishing, proximity to skiing, and town. The kitchen is so well-equipped that I could have planned more complex meals. Mike was super easy to communicate with, and all the instructions for the house were clear and easy. Def will come back, would love to do a summer stay and explore the whole property.

This home and the hosts are fabulous. This was our second stay and we will be back again. The property’s quiet location off a dirt road is exactly what we need to get away from busy life and truly relax. With many places to explore, eat, shop and ski within 20-35 minutes you can be far away and close at the same time. The house has beautiful wooded views, everything you need to cook/bake plus plenty of puzzles, books and games. The wood burning stove is our favorite feature to enjoy evenings with family. The house is easy to find and get in. The internet is very reliable. Most importantly, Mike and Caroline are excellent hosts that truly care about their guests.

We can’t recommend this house enough! We have returned multiple times for summer visits because we love the peaceful location, the comfortable house, and the proximity to great hiking and to the towns in the Mad River Valley. And Caroline and Mike are always great hosts!

Lovely, peaceful property

Perfect stay for when you need to get away. The property is private and quiet, yet just a few minutes to provisions, restaurants, and recreation. I enjoyed reading on the porch surrounded by nature, daily walks on local trails, and cooking local produce and meats in the well appointed kitchen. Will be back!

Norwich Visit

Property was perfect for our shirt weekend trip to visit Norwich University. We enjoyed sledding down the hill behind the barn. Kitchen is very well equipped. On our last day we were greated by a flock of turkeys walking down the drive. Would stay again.

4 Day Vermont Ski and Snowshoe trip.

Everything we needed. Consistently used the wood stove and Kitchen amenities. My wife snowshoed out the back while I skied at Sugarbush with the kids. Close to everything we wanted to see/do.

We love Vermont and Fall there is our favorite time. This is our third time staying here. This year we stayed for a week and love every minute of it. This home has become our home away from home. We love the peacefulness and tranquility it has to offer. Nestled in between mountains with a beautiful view. It is close to many locations for daily trips to visit such as Burlington, Stowe, and Montpelier and many more places. The home is cozy and well kept/clean and all the amenities you would need for a long stay.The hosts are great to communicate with and respond quickly if needed.It is definitely a place I would recommend if you are thinking about going to this area in Vermont.

So much fun!

We had a great stay at Caroline and Mike’s place. The house was clean and modern and the property was just gorgeous. I was traveling with my young kids, and we spent most mornings by the stream and trying to spot frogs at the pond. Caroline and Mike were wonderful to communicate with and we hope to be back soon!
