Very nice but not enough towels and washcloths and garbage in shed was not removed. We did have to wash the towels during the week to give us enough for all of us to use. Would stay there again.

Perfect place for a fall weekend getaway! Easy access to Stowe and surrounding areas. We made a meal at the vrbo one night and were cozy every evening.

We stayed at Cheerful Mountain Cottage with another couple. The house was clean and well cared for. The location was nice and quiet - a little further out of town but easily accessible to Stowe, Waterbury and other areas of interest. We enjoyed a nice quiet walk on the country road and the colors were beautiful. Tom was an excellent host - he always responded quickly to any questions we had. With it being such an old house, the stairs and doors were definitely creaky/noisy, especially if someone had to get up in the middle of the night. Overall, we were pleased with our stay!

Cozy Cottage

A perfect cottage for 2 couples. We loved the fireplace and the great location. The host had great communication and shared a helpful vacation guide.

My family & I would gladly stay here again. The house was more than comfortable & the beauty of colorful fall leaves falling from trees was so enjoyable

The cottage was in a great location. 15 minutes from Waterbury and 89. Check in process was smooth and the beds were comfy. All bedrooms are on the second floor with a pretty steep staircase. Just letting you know if traveling with older people with mobility issues. Enjoyed our time and location of the property.

Host was welcoming and helpful. Great little cabin in the woods. Cozy fire on a snow filled weekend. Thankful for all wheel drive to get up the hill in the snow before sanders arrived. But the location was just the escape needed!

Nice stay

The location was perfect for our stay. The cabin had everything we needed. The Host was responsive to all issues and questions we had. The cabin is on a dirt road that is steep in places. (Many roads in VT are dirt/gravel roads). No problems for us. We enjoyed our stay.

Charming comfortable house

Lovely cottage

This cottage had all the comforts of home and a great location for us, as our family lives just a few minutes down the road! Check in process and communication with Tom, our host, were seamless. Our only challenge is we had hot water issues, but Tom was very responsive and helpful. We would not hesitate to stay there again and would recommend it to anyone seeking a comfortable, quiet place to stay.

Quiet retreat

Loved our stay at the cottage near quaint towns of Waterbury and Waitsfield with access to great restaurants, breweries and beautiful hikes! The cottage was restored nicely with all the modern amenities. Really enjoyed having an updated kitchen, bathrooms and laundry facilities. The water supply is from a mountain stream and at times the water pressure could be challenging when all needed to shower at the same time but we were able to make it work by staggering our showers. We were two couples staying together and had plenty of room to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet!

Duxbury cottage for ski week

The cottage was just what we wanted for a ski week. Location = private and remote on a steep dirt road, yet 20 min to Sugarbush, 30 min to Bolton, and <15 min to both Waterbury and Waitsfield centers. House = ideal for 2 adults and 2 kids - 3 spacious bedrooms with comfy beds and 2 nice baths. Cozy living area, surprisingly great light for an old farmhouse, warm and efficient gas stove, and all the kitchen supplies you'll need - plus washer and dryer. Mountain water is amazing, but pressure is low, so conserve appropriately.

Lovely stay but hard for those with mobility issues

The property was clean, cute and had a great overall feel. However the steps to the bedrroms were very steep and hard for my parents who are in their 70s. There are also some threshold which are a tripping risk. If youre younger its no problem and was a great place, just be careful with older folks!

We had a very pleasant stay! The house is bright, open, airy, very clean and comfy! The kitchen was well equipped and had ample counter space. The bedrooms were roomy and the bathrooms looked new. The photos are accurate. The house is located in a quiet spot in the woods up a steep dirt road. We heard a lot birds in the morning and saw a black bear. The location is convenient to Waterbury and Stowe. We enjoyed the hiking, biking, swimming and kayaking in the area. Tom replied quickly to our questions.

Cozy and Comfortable!

This is a lovely house for a family get-away. We skied at Sugarbush, and the drive was easy, and close enough. There were six of us, all above the age of 18, and plenty of comfortable space. The beds were very comfortable. The downstairs was spread out nicely, so we could all enjoy each other's company at the big dining table, as well as, break off into cozy nooks to watch tv, read, or work on a puzzle. Internet worked well for the two who had to work remotely. The whole house had a bright and airy atmosphere. We appreciated the the host would quickly answer any questions via email. Thanks for a great stay!
