Our beautiful sunny flat is in one of Edinburgh’s most picturesque and scenic central locations. Approached down a narrow cobbled street this fully modernised eighteenth century gem lies in an oasis of greenery, yet is just 5 minutes walk from Princes Street and an abundance of restaurants, artisan cafes, bars and theatres. Aspects of Edinburgh’s iconic historic city centre can be seen from every window.
The UNESCO World Heritage site of Calton Hill and it’s famous monuments lie adjacent to our garden. The Edinburgh postcode EH1 signifies Princes Street and it’s world famous retailers such as Harvey Nichols lie just 100 metres away whilst the Royal Mile, with the Castle, Palace of Holyrood and so much more, is just little further by foot.
The main tourist attractions are within walking distance as are an abundance of charming restaurants, hostelries and cafes.
Our many guests tell us what they find so special is the harmonious blend of past and present character which we hope you can clearly see in the photographs. The building was constructed in1756 and Rabbie Burns’ mistress Clarinda lived just a couple of doors down the street.
What never fails to impress is tiny discrete historic neighbourhood in which our flat is tucked away from city centre hustle & bustle and surrounded by leafy maintained gardens.
The apartment is comfortably modernised with everything the tourist might expect: Central heating system, kitchen fully fitted for visitors eg. Cooker with Oven, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, Coffee Machine, Toaster, Kettle and large dining table comfortably able to seat 8 people. Also hairdryer, iron and ironing board are provided.
The comfortable sittingroom is tastefully furnished has TV, DVD + Wifi Broadband connections. This has a traditional Edinburgh fireplace, as do the bedrooms though for safety reasons chimneys are not open. The central heating system is effective even during the depths of an Edinburgh winter.
The Sleeping accommodation includes two good sized double bedrooms (one twin bedded) and a neat single bedroom. Children of all ages are Welcome - please ask for a highchair or cot.
The facilities include classic as well as drizzle showers resplendent in marble mosaics and gold fittings.
All Linen and Towels are included.
Oher things
The Train Station, the Airport Bus Station and the Tram Station are 150 meters away,
as are the tram and bus systems that run regularly to Edinburgh International Airport. Very good bus system from Lothian Buses . Airport transfer "Airlink 100" bus from Lothian Buses. Edinburgh Tram from the airport to the city center.
Metered parking is available in nearby streets and secured parking is offered at the nearby NCP St. James Centre, 2A Elder Street, Edinburgh. EH1 3JP just a few minutes walk from the flat.
