Whispering Pines is a pet friendly cabin (fur babies are free!) with a completely enclosed fenced backyard that is located one mile from town center. This is a listing from owners of a sister cabin, Peaceful Pines, which is located less than a half mile away and is listed on both VRBO (75 5 star reviews) and the competitive site (166 reviews at an average of 4.98 out of 5 stars). The owners live less than 1/2 mile from the property and are available if needed. Whispering Pines has been updated to give renter’s a nice, clean, cabin experience with the best in host support and their availability. First snow for our fur people

Just amazing! Had a wonderful time, our dogs as well. We enjoyed the drive up with the snow flurries, just so nice to disconnect from everyday life. The VRBO was as described, so charming and very pet friendly. Has every amenity needed if you were going up there to wing it. Very close to town. Everything explained about cabin. Jay the owner communicates promptly if there are any questions. Will go again in Fall!

The Best Cozy Cabin!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful and quaint cabin! The wooden features and charming decor made it feel so warm and inviting. Everything was spotless and ready for us when we arrived, and the hosts were incredibly kind—leaving us thoughtful touches like protein bars. The location was perfect, just minutes from downtown and the trails, making it easy to explore. Our dog absolutely loved it too! Plus, the provided games and puzzles were such a fun bonus. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would absolutely come back. Highlyrecommend.

Always a nice place to stay

We've stayed at Jay's place a couple times now and it's always the perfect, relaxing place to get away for a couple days. It's clean, quite, great location. There's a comfy bed and a big living room. Most importantly, there's a big fenced in back yard for the pup to run around. I think he loves it the most! We will continue to stay here when we visit Idyllwild. Thanks again!

The cabin was spacious and cozy. Our dogs enjoyed the enclosed yard. Just need to fix the gate where you enter. Thank you for an enjoyable stay!

We had a wonderful time at this vacation home. It is a great place, the landlords were very nice to us and communicated lots of things and details, which is something we appreciated. We had a wonderful time at this cabin.

Great backyard

Property is on a fairly busy road, but the enclosed backyard is excellent. My 2 dogs loved playing in it. Cabin is 1.5 miles to downtown Idyllwild, so convenient for restaurants, market, and other retailers. This was my 2nd visit and sure I'll be back.

Nice little Cabin

We spent two nights at Whispering Pine and really liked it; it's not a fancy place but it has everything you need. Jay, the owner, is highly responsive. If you want a weekend break, try this place; you will enjoy it.

wonderful getaway

needed to get to the pine trees and mountain. was great for me and my dog. i needed it fenced securely and it was. there was every amenity. love the fireplace heaters. great ambience!

Perfect Cabin!

The property was perfect for my stay. Close to the town center and also Idyllwild Arts Academy which is what brought me to town. Would definitely stay again! Ample space, clean and great hosts.

Jay’s Place was awesome

Staying at Jay’s place was a great experience. It met our needs perfectly, from the comfortable recliner for enjoyable reading to the amazing shower with the smooth pebbled floor that felt like a foot massage. And right down the road to Idyllwild Arts, where we needed to be. We didn’t use the backyard but saw that it is large and fenced. The beds were comfortable and there were options with the queen bed and single bed in the bedroom and a single bed with trundle in the living room. I can’t think of any suggestions for improvement. All was great. Thank you.

Peaceful Triple Threat Getaway!

This long weekend getaway was originally for myself, my husband, and our wee little pup. It was our puppy’s first birthday and our wedding anniversary. Sadly, the weekend before we had to send our cat to the other side and so our adult child flew in to say goodbye and grieve with us. We alerted Jay and Darlene of our last minute extra guest which they were kind enough to allow along. This cabin is a dream! I feel we are so lucky to have found it. Plenty of quiet and space for the 3 of us adults and our dog (his crate, his food, his toys, lol!) Plus now my kid was with us for Mother’s Day. Very special. We loved hanging out in the deck and the yard and everything we needed to cook was there too. Plus a washer and dryer. Woohoo! It was easy to use the heaters and the shower water pressure was perfect. Highly recommend. Thanks again for a wonderful time!
