For the discerning traveler, experience the essence of Santa Barbara's unique beauty and character in historic 1920 Spanish colonial 2 bedroom home set in prime Riveria location next to Mission/Rose Gardens and magnificent mountains while enjoying total privacy on outdoor patios offering breath taking ocean, channel Island, and city views. Take pleasant 30 minute walk to center of town offering gardens, historic sites, shops, restaurants, theaters galore. Walks in neighborhood are amazing too. Magnificent Henry's Beach is just 6 miles away.
Home flows beautifully between indoors and outdoors and you will find yourself content to just relax and maybe not leave the property at all - except to attend Saturday Farmer's market where you can bring back the freshest food to cook and then eat outside under the stars. Lovely outdoor patios and ocean views.

We live in CT and bought SB home in 2006. Our family has enjoyed it and want others to also. It is not rental property per se.
Out of respect for our neighbors no gatherings of any kind, and please observe quiet hours between 10pm - 8am.

Margaret's place was fantastic for our Christmas stay. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking and dining. The house feels like home, and not a rental which was an added touch at Christmas time. Thank-you for sharing your home with our family.

We did not visit Santa Barbara in order to visit a national park. We were there to tour Botanical and private gardens.

Lovely home, beautifully appointed, lovely patio and views. We were there with some rain but this was thee perfect retreat location. Will return again.

Beautiful Home in Mission Canyon

Great views, beautifully furnished home, new immaculate kitchen and bathrooms, lovely gardens. Margaret has everything organized and is always available. A terrific place to stay.

Santa Barbara Special

We loved our month here. Delightful, well maintained 2 bedroom home in the Lower Riviera adjacent to the MIssion. Quiet and private. Great neighborhood for walking. Can't wait to return.

There’s a reason why you see the photos as they are of the property. What isn’t shown is important. The garage is very steep hill to get into and is cluttered with all kinds of books and shelves and bicycles, etc. the only parking is on the street and that can be a problem. Also, the downstairs shower is very impractical, the way it is installed and we could not use it as the water would leak out of the tub onto the floor and cause a hazard. Much of the furniture outside is rusty and unusable. Despite these problems we encountered the house is very comfortable and the owner very responsive.

Artful Lower Riviera

This is a beautiful home that has been tastefully and artfully furnished. It is ideal for a couple, and the guest room is adequate for two guests. There is a lower grass terrace that is ideal for an evening drink with a good view of Santa Barbara and the waterfront, a middle terrace off the living room that works well for lunch and dinner for 4 or fewer, and an upper terrace that seats 6-10 for meals. The kitchen is well appointed with a good supply of beautiful dinnerware. The owner was very accommodating. We suggest two areas of caution: First, the first floor guest bath has a free standing tub and shower curtain ring that can be annoying for guests who prefer showers to baths (although the upstairs master bath is beautiful and can be made available to guests, as we did. Second, the home is at the top of a steep hill and accessed by 30+ steps. We are septuagenarians and hosted three other septuagenarians as guests for short periods and had no issues accessing the house or navigating the neighborhood on long walks. If these aren’t an issue, as they were not for us, then this is an ideal property for an extended stay in the lower American Riviera near the mission .

We had a wonderful reset from work at this 1920 Santa Barbara Spanish Colonial on the Riviera, near the Mission and Rose Gardens. The host was incredible, checking in to ensure everything was perfect and even confirming we were happy before we left. We loved the original charm—every detail inside, the front and backyard. Mornings on the porch, sipping coffee, with mountain views, birds, and church bells were truly stunning. It was an amazing experience, and without a doubt, if we return to Santa Barbara, we’ll stay here again!

Such a beautiful home! Many outdoor patios and rooms - loved the sunken living room! We spent a lot of time in the kitchen and dining room, and we appreciated the beautiful dishware. House is situated on a hillside, offering glorious views from ground and 2nd floor. We enjoyed opening the windows and doors, and appreciated the old-fashioned screens. Lovely artwork throughout the house - the house felt ‘complete’ with furnishings and decor, without being too cluttered. The steep driveway was a challenge at first, but we got good at getting in and out of the garage and driveway without any problem. Overall, a really lovely stay in a classic Santa Barbara house. We loved it.

True Santa Barbara style. Beautiful home and garden. The driveway is very steep, not recommended for low clearance vehicles. We parked across the street or around the corner. There are 35 stairs and two ramps up to the house, Santa Barbara is hilly. Very convenient to downtown, Lotusland and Summerland.

A true gem of a home

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this property. The grounds, the view, the cozy interior all contributed to a spectacular 2-week stay with family. The neighborhood is quiet and we enjoyed exploring during sunset walks. It was perfect for two couples with ample space to remotely work a portion of the week. We took every opportunity to enjoy the fireplace during cool evenings and patio during the day. The home is a short walk to the mission, 15-min walk to the courthouse and a 10-min drive to the water. The owner provided excellent communication before arrival and during the stay. We hope to return soon!

We loved this home!

We had the perfect month in Santa Barbara and this home really added to our experience. The patio is beautiful and a great place for morning coffee and evening gatherings. Margaret is so helpful and responsive. We can’t wait to return.
